I got the E71 for my wife and within 7 days the gps stopped working. Took it back to dealer and now waiting for replacement phone. A friend of mine also got the E71 and the same problem with the gps??. I am from South Africa and request that if anyone has the same problem and what you did to resolve it, to contact me at francoissauer@gmail.com.

Q... moreWhat do you mean 3G application? to use 3G (broadband speed) you need a 3G sim.Also i am not sure about E71-2. It might be for Chinese market( there is a restriction : no wifi,no HSDPA...)
Mine is generic and bears mark E71-1. I know that in most cases E71-3 is for American market.

Hi, I am having a problem with my E71. after switching the phone on and using it for a while the menu option freezes and I cannot go to the menu.When I restart the phone it works for a while and freezes again.This is happening very regularly.Can anyone help me with this please?what should I do?Is it a software issue?the software version currently installed is 110.07.127 released - 10 November 2008.

WHOA have this phone for more than a month now and still loving it... im not saying that you must buy this phone coz in the end its up to you. you must know yourself in choosing a phone... for me its the speed, no hung ups and most importantly the long battery life of this baby that got me into it not to mention the great and mighty built of it. i must admit great job for making this phone im still impress with it not to mention all the features of it. NO REGRETS FOR ME

I bought nokia e71 recently in dubai,UAE. The product is made in finland. It is NOkia E71-2. Question is: Why cant i use 3G application? I have contacted the local mobile provider and have installed configuration etc. Still it's not functioning. In fact it happened in all 3 Nokia e-71. Somebody told me that if this particular phone is made in finland, then the 3G will not function due to some mobile constraints. Please enlighten me and if there's anything i can do to rectify this problem. Thanks guys.

if u want to search a contact then just start typing his name on the home screen! its as simple as that...

Apple, 24 Jan 2009very irritating. when u delete the email in the phone, the server mail also being deleted.... ... morewhen you select a mail to delete is asks whether you want to delete from the phone or both phone and server. just select 'phone'. the email will get deleted from the phone but it will remain in the server.

angels232, 23 Jan 2009you can change the settings to do an alpha search or not to its in the tools settings partyes you can change the case but you cannot search a NAME by typing in the NUMBER in contacts.

I am using the E71 for about 6 weeks, and have to say its the best phone with excellent features. I have used many handsets, nok 6500, nok 5310, samsung armani and also iphone 3g. but have to say the e71 has been a great experience.
Battery life is really good, great for emails and very easy to set up. never had a slow interface and great for the web and has good navigation, the keypad can be small for some people but you get used to the keypad and becomes very comfortable to use.
Dont hesitate in purchasing it you will never regret.

Highflyin, 23 Jan 2009But can you see the numeric keys OK, they look pretty small and not visible in daylight (witho... moreWell yes the "0" is not in the correct place. but once you get used to it you won't have a problem. its just a matter of days. and if you're worried about the "+" mark you can always use "00" in front of the number instead of the "+" mark. its all the same. i've been using this phone since last october and it has never let me down. very reliable and the build quality is excellent. i have never regretted for once since i bought this phone. it does everything that a modern phone should do at its best.
