Once the maps are downloaded onto your phone's memory, you can use them with Nokia Maps without having to go online. You can also download difference voices for navigation.

Thanks for the clarification. But which phone you would suggest as per my requirement ? or should I move to HTC b/c of more flexibility since MS is there...or any other suggestions for me ?

I am really confused whether to go for E-71 or 5800. Basically I am more concerned woth all advanced email features like configuring multiple email accounts, getting instant alerts when email arrive, subscribing for black berry services, MS Office etc... Pls. suggest.....

ive tried to downlod nokia maps on may e71 it says download is complete but still theres no maps on my gps. tried to download it with the pc suite. pls. tell me how anyone here downloaded there maps on there e71 a step by step guide. or is it possible that nokia center can download the maps for me? pls help

You can download nokia maps downloader to download maps onto the memory card. once that is done, you need not go online everytime....

dj32, 23 Dec 2008I have the same problem before....but i guess you are opening the application inside the build... moreI found in my country (South Africa), initially you first need to go on-line (GPRS), and the map downloads for that area. After that, its on your phone. Try going on line, especially when trying to locate your position.

Just to add - the camera is really bad! Bar code reader and business card reader do not seem to work at all. Other than that, a really powerful and useful phone with full keyboard and compact, slim size.
