just got mine today...its by leaps n bounds the best fone i've ever used n trust me i've used just about all the smartfones...

This is, quite simply, one of the best phones I've ever come across. The feature set is overwhelming (I still haven't figured out what all is on it), and the build quality is top notch. The use of metal and plastic is bang on, and each little click of a button is perfect. The weighting of the phone is also nice, just heavy enough to let you know you've got something special. Then there's the styling. It garners attention everywhere I pull it out, and with good reason too. It's absolutely gorgeous. It's one vice is that red power button. It doesn't quite fit with the sober colors of the rest of the phone, and sticks out like a sore thumb. In any case, this is the perfect replacement for my 8600 Luna (since the U900 Soul was a pile of crap), and I wouldn't consider trading this in for anything short of a Vertu or the Tag Heuer Meridiist.

nokia e71 is a good looking metal phone,but there is
no perfect grip for handling the phone.
it is possible to slip from our hands.

Now the problem is,

U might wanna check with your service provider on the settings for 3G/HSDPA in order to get access to the net via cell.
U need not download anything for Facebook. Other applications like messenger, just do a google search & u will find how to go about it.

Remove the applications and reïnstall them (or alternatives) so that they aren't UK-based anymore. Get them form their Indian sites

Yes, de codebar reader does work. But only for Symbian-aimed codebar. It's not meant for e.g. the codebar on a can of sausages.

The N-series are multimedia-aimed, and the E-series are business aimed. Which is more important to you? The N-series are ok for business and the E-series is ok for multimedia (its's all symbian, so the same applications are possible unless they use f.e. the acelerometer which none of the E-series have). The Nseries lack a keyboard (sucks for webbrowsing, unless you're a quick SMS-typer that's a disadvantage). But a phone is quite personal, and these two are aimed at a different audience. So we can't really advise you when we don't know you as a person and thus your needs in a phone.

Example th... morethe barcode reader does work but it's not flawless... it because of the camera... maybe with future firmware updates the camera driver will be much better like the E66 and the barcode reader will work well...

I've been using the E-71 since its launch in July 2008.Everything is fine except the camera. A 3.1 MP camera ought to be much better. Picture quality is disappointing. So ppl who are willing to live with a below average camera, buy it, otherwise dont!

E71 is by far the best handset i hv ever used so far...belive u me guys i hv used almost all the handsets (yes Smartphones) available in the market ...E71 is the best. With an amazing Battery life, wonderful qwerty keypad(personally dont mind a slightly bigger area) sturdy build, decent Music player & Camera, excellent voice quality and ofcourse the speed UI & applicants ...A complete business phone ...Nokia Forever
