am planning to buy this phone in the next week...wanted to clarify/check few issues.
1)does this phone get heated up soon?
2)does the phone hang often?
3)does the metal body become dirty very soon.
4)is typing easy on the small keypads? this
is my first qwerty phone...
5) is the battery life as mentioned in the description.
Iam in India and would like to know the phone's performance considering the dust and weather conditions here.
hope the phone is worth the cost....any user pls answer these questions....
thanks .. in advance guys
Got my E71 about a month ago. Unlike previous Nokia handsets I have used in the past, battery power in E71 seems to be equally distributed among the 7 bars. The 1st bar disappears faster in E71. Anyone has similar experience? How did your E71's battery performs?
Can some one clarify how GPS can be used on Nokia E-71. What are the options? Thanks.
just got the phone yst and i must say that i'm quite pleased with it...phone is fast and so is accessing net...the keys take a little bit getting used to....and quite a looker
I guess they removed the blackberry connectivity in exchange with the GPS function. Well i think blackberry isn't that much of a neccessity these days. There's bluetooth, USB 2.0 and WLAN anyway. This phone is still awesome!
Hi guys ...E71 is awesome ..but the problem is that handset is not quite good...can I have a professional handset
I cannot wait to get my E71 this thursday. It is the best phone on the market right now. Iphone does not compare to it and N96 is not even close to being compared to E71. This phone is hot...great looks...sleak for a PDA...and looks hot in grey!!

With all the features available, it could have been perfect; I will purchase E71 if this has Blackberry. I hope they will launch soon an E71i with BB features.
I'm A typical Nokia Customer & having 4 handsets f Nokia.
I was using E 61 i for past One & Half year & most satisfied customer.
When I came to Know Nokia Launched again a Business class Communicator type of Elegant upgradsed Handset, I rushed for it & blindly purchased this Hand set.
Here I committed a big Mistake, Beacause I thought I am shifting to Upgraded Version but actually I downgarded My Handset as It does not support Blackberry Facility, which was the Most Important function of Nokia E 61 i.
Now I'm suffering a lot
Will Nokia do some thing for this on immediate basis.
Anonymous, 30 Sep 2008Hi Shakeel, Think I have found solution to heat up issue. Under settings--phone--network--net... moreDue, if u choose GSM(2.5G) mode, though it helps to increase the battery life & probably lesser heat effect, but the 3G/HSDPA is disable. It is rather hard not to use the hi-speed mobile brandband.
Hell off diff in Chinese and finish made. Nokia has realised to save and future cells would be Chinese made. SE Sam and others had shifted but Nokia followed now!
Overall finish and inside plus paint spray & screen fitting centre is out.Only product made n Finland known to the world will be gone pathetic. Still P990i made France and China was clearly a comparison. We pay for durability then why china made as standard, either reduce price, not increase your profits Nokia, you are behind n touch yet Tube anticipated. Peoplw still willing to pay for 8800 series Arte, why not that to Chinese. Rethink?

Think I have found solution to heat up issue. Under settings--phone--network--net... moreHi All
There is no heat problem Network with UMTS and also with GSM Not at all heat problem in this Phone I have used Nokia E50 there was Heat problem is that Phone I have used E51 That’s was the set with Good Features I did wrong when i sold My Nokia E51 There was no heat problem with Nokia E51 and same here no Problem With E71
The main thing what I dislike in E71 that’s its Keypad I have Long and Big Fingers facing Problem when I m typing the bad thing its Keypad Color Alpha Numeric in White Color and Alphabets in Blue that’s very bad color combination Grey and Dark Blue that’s not easy to see in Dark and also in Bright Sunlight and the Firmware is tooooo Buggy
lot of software’s not compatible with Current firmware availed by Nokia coming with the Phones I have contact with Nokia and they replied they r working on this issue but no date from them for New Firmware when they r going to launch New one
And the other bad thing is its Dictionary there is good thing in this E-Series Business Phone that’s Spell Checking but that’s not easy to Control the letters I have SE P1i its Dictionary is too easy to use too easy to select the Words
I m 20% happy to its Features 40% Happy to its Shape (Design)

Think I have found solution to heat up issue. Under settings--phone--network--network mode , default selection is both UMTS/GSM. Select GSM and heating issue will go. yesterday I talked for almost 18 minutes and had almost no heating. Earlier with same call duration it used to heat up like anything.
can you check the mode in your handset. Is it dual or GSM? Please revert.
