Yes you can use Skype and you can send IM and make free calls to your Skype buddies.
Go to wwww.Skype.com/m on your E71's browser to download it and it will install automatically after.

I have had hanging problems in the past back with MMC memory cards when I had the Nokia 6230 but that was because the brand had compatibility problems with my phone. The brand was Kingston and sometimes my phone wouldn't start up. I had a Dane-Elec prior to the Kingston and it worked ok. no hangs up etc. but I wanted more memory and decided to go for Kingston...that brand was a bad idead. I got an exchange from the store and they took back the Kingston and gave me a Transcend. It was fast, smooth and worked like a charm. I decided to stick to them ever since.

I have filled it up almost to the maximum point and I had no problems with it.
The Real Player will have problems at times based on the codec used in some of the media files you try to play.
Get Coreplayer. It basically plays all the formats out there.
If the Class 6 is too expensive then go for the Class 4 8GB but make it Transcend as I find them to be reliable and faster than it's competitors.

I have had my E71 grey steel for more than 2 years now. What used to annoy me was that I couldn't silence the camera shutter sound, but I've found a way around it by covering the speaker with one finger when taking photos. Its one of the greatest phones out there.

cfc, 31 Jul 2011i have the nokia e71 and dont know how to use it. i cant even figure out how to delete more th... morepress the 2nd key on bottom left and the navigation key together to mark multiple items. u can hold that key and down button to select all those navigated items..

Once we're on the inbox list we can go to options wid the left hand side key and then mark/unmark the messages we need to delete and then just select delete or press the one key delete button.
I have been using it for more than 2 yrs now. gr8 phone ...

Another qn, is there any video player softwares available for this phone to play flv videos..even some mp4 videos are not playing in the real player..I havent upgraded the software version..is that because of this?

Memory is crucial so go for higher always. In your case the 8GB...but try to get a 8GB Class 6 as the higher the Class, the faster the speed. I have a Transcend 8GB Class 6 in my E71 and it works perfectly, smoothly, no lag whatsoever! It's almost as fast as the phone's memory!
Transcend as always worked out well for me but whatever brand you choose try and get a Class 6. I have had Class 4 and I wasn't impressed. Some 8GB even come in Class 2.
