I purchased E72 two weeks ago after doing research on various models for two months.
It is worth a hadset to buy.
You get everything you wanted (Wifi, VoIP, VLAN, GPS, etc).
People say optical track pad is worst but i say it is best option. It is a type of semi touch screen experiance.
Phone is very fast in operation.
I tried live video streeming, video download it worked very fast.
I configured my Yahoo, gmail and corporate ID they are all running fine with push mail facility.
Phone looks classy in hand. You generally do not feel the weight of handset.
One misconception every one has is china made models are not good. I owned N70(ME) china make & now E72 china make. I do not have any problems.
Considering Indian working style this set is best suited in place of fancy touch screen sets (samsung, HTC).
Last point do not think symbian is dead, it is still alive and working well to compete with windows or anaroid.....

Seems like 2010 is the year of touch screen phones. Android and Windows 7 will fair well. By the way what you said to Akash is true to some extent...E72 price is dropping very fast. The last E72, I bought it at USD 385 but now in my place its only USD 345. I have friends in this business and they say E72 is struggling as in my place people dont mind paying USD 500 for BB 9700 but dont like to buy E72...Everybody is going GA GA over BB. Maybe in India too E72 price dropped already...Check it out...

Hi,I am plannung to take this cell, could any well wisher guide me how the the phone is n features too.B'coz the price is high n it is one time investment,it should be for long time...Please advice.....?Waitng for reply.....!
Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970In Kuwait the mobile prices are very high...But if the model becomes old the prices drop at fast pace. I have friends in Kuwait from whom I get the info on regular basis. Kuwaiti Dinar itself is equivalent to about USD 3.5 so the price for new models is out of reach of many...But if you happen to drop by Dubai you sometimes can get good deals there especially when they have computer and cellular exhibitions.
Rajesh, 18 Feb 2010Seems like in your place people are filthy rich...USD 850 for SE...SE should feel proud...Dont... more
Yes u r right even I ws shocked when I heard the price by the way I am residing in kuwait right now,I will wait for a month or so if price doesn't come down then ill buy e72,one more thing as u were discussing about nokia fones in india,my first fone ws n73 which I bought in india last year gave me a lot of problem I had to sell it in one year after that I've been using sony walkmans and cybershots as I needed a smart phone I joined this forum thnks

i can upgrade my contract now in RSA and would like to know weather it is a good idea to get the e72.I have had the e71 and have been very happy with it.Help me,as i am afraid, from what i have read that the softwear on the nokiae72 is unstable, and i have had a nokia like that before. The phone was in for repairs more than what i used it.Please help?
Fumozhe, 18 Feb 2010I'm taking no side here since I value all brands and prefer phones with better specification a... moreThe "wannabee" has by far superior materials than the "original". E71 and E72 are sleeker than the Bolds, and just as powerful. As to the OS, it really is a matter of taste, but there are many more apps running on Symbian.
Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970I'm taking no side here since I value all brands and prefer phones with better specification and reasonable price regardless the brands.
You said that compared to curve 8900, e72 is like a dummy phone. But when I check both phone spec, it seems e72 is far superior than curve 8900. e72 has more display colors, has 3g, better class in gprs and edge, better camera, faster processor, has radio and longer battery life.
But I have to agree with Ju-Mong that this E-series is blackberry wannabe. Other brands like samsung, SE, and many more seems like to imitate the design of blackberry too, not only nokia. And I really don't like copycats.
I like the originality of blackberry design. And judging from design, I think blackberry is better than nokia E-series. Also, curve 8900 is lighter and has a bit larger display and better resolution than e72. But, the best thing from blackberry is its BIS and readable-under-sunshines display. I also like Blackberry OS better than Symbian OS used by e72.
So, to sum it up, every phone must have its strengths and weaknesses. And which phone we should pick is up to users' needs.
