In the meanwhile I am attempting to upgrade the firmware to the latest version. But can not connect to the PC. PC Suite does not even recognise the cable connection. I am at my wit's end.
Anyone else with similar issue?
Sam, 24 Jan 2010Hi Mr. Anonymous, Nokia is actually dominating the whole smartphone market, Blackberry is popu... moredats a huge misconception bro,i happen to be resident in the UK and this place is goin totally gaga for BB,anybody and everybody has one.
i am torn btw d BB9700 and E72 maself bt i tink i am goin to giv in to the BB(based on the looks)
I thinking of buying this phone currently ihave my 4 year old nokia e50, i dnt know if it's the controls or the phone but its really really laggy like it'll take 3 minutes to just open a message!!
Does e72 do that? cuz if it does i don't wanna waste $550 (which is ALOT!) on a phone, and does it not connect via wifi?

But my unit however works flawlessly. I have configured 3 email accounts with gmail, yahoo and hotmail. I can send and receive emails including attachments without any problem and I am not using any plan. It is definitely slow with email as compared to E71. But hopefully with te firmware update a few of the problems will be solved.
I have used this phone for 2 months. I used to subscribe to ATT media net plan. The emails were spotty at best. I have posted my comments before. The unit's built quality is extremely poor. Firmware is horrible-track pad gets stuck, can not copy all contacts to sim, etc are well documented. One can not receive email unless u subscribe to a PLAN from the carrier. iPhone one does not need to have subscribe to any carrier plan as it connects to the WIFI and email come right in. I have the phone sitting in the box as I went back for emails. DO NOT BUY unless you want to waste your good money for a phone that does not work for email which are essential in today's world. Do the BB units work w/o a plan for email like the iphone? Or better question, are there any other units that pull emails the same way as iphone w/o a plan? May be Rajesh and answer this question.
guys upgrade ur e72 with the latest f/w 23.002 available via pc suite...
skdking, 13 Feb 2010I hope you bought your E72. I have a query. I bought E72 yesterday from Univercell. It is ... morethis is crap, gps works irresecpective of where you are...those folks @ univercell are dumbo...you might want to ask them for a replacement or else contact nokia care..
Rosiju, 17 Dec 2009Guys can you tell me whether E72 is worth business and personal. Me planning to get one.. Any ... moreI hope you bought your E72.
I have a query. I bought E72 yesterday from Univercell. It is working fine but for non-working GPS. When I contacted Univercell guys they tried to est it right but failed. Finally they threw their hands up saying that it does not work in Chennai because it is not covered by the GPS satellites.
This can not be true. Can anyone from Chennai with E72 pl confirm if their GPS is working or not.
Thanks in advance.
I've recently purchased a Nokia E72, I'm unable to figure out how to put a question mark "?" character with the button available on keypad because I've to use the "Sym" button for this purpose, can anyone please comment on this issue?
To quantify my previous post I selected this phone for small business use for its ease of setup, e-mail, calender sync abilities and its ability to sync with outlook 2003 and its supposed reliability, being just about the biggest manufacturer in the market I thought, somewhat mistakedly, that Nokia would be a safe bet......how wrong i was! I have yet to get any e-mail to send, it will recieve fine, but try as i may it will not send on POP3 or mfe. That is merely a minor irritant when you compare it to the phones totally woeful performance when it comes to bluetooth connectivity it constantly drops the connection when connnected to my thb cc9060 running the latest firmware, not only does it drop the connection randomly, mid call, but it then needs to be restarted to regain the connection, sometimes crashing compleetely on restart requiring removal of the battery to start it again. The phone also does not seem to know it has disconnected from the bt connection and subsequently routes all calls to a non existant bluetooth connection when away from the carso callers are greeted with silence! Bt connection in cars to handsfree kits is a pretty standard and basic function of any phone these days and out of the 4 phones we bought only 1 connects with any reliability, in my opinion the e72 is not redy for market and should never have been released in this state it is totally useless for day to day business environment. Sceptical of my review, thinking of buying one? Then check out nokia's own discussion forum, it is awash with people complaining of these problems with e-mail and bluetooth issues yet nokia does not even acknowledge there is an issue with this phone.....mine is being returned to the operator and being replaced with another make, I for one will NEVER buy or recommend a noka phone to anyone until nokia get's it's act together and starts to support customers and issue firmware updates to fix serious issues with their products in a timely manner!
I have been using the e72 for the last month now and have finally lost patience with it and Nokias apparrent indifference to the numerous firmware and or hardware problems with this phone.
