zzz, 01 Dec 2009anyone , does E71 has voip over Wlan function like nokia E51 ?? someone who knows for sure.?????Yes the E71 supports VOIP over WiFi network. I have personally used it with a Skype Credit account using FRING. !!
i get 100% disappointment with e72
i had it 3 days b4
the processer is week
low low speaker volume/but nice
very poor camara quality(i assure this not 5mp)
nokia cheating the puplic
when compared to e71 the price high in dubai (e71-dhs 1250, e72 dhs1950)
but display ok
technically not good
why nokia offered/cheated their fans
wifi also not rich when compared to e71
Yes I have e 72 from 7.12.2009 . That is when I made a blunder . This is a substandard product . The nokia mail system is a flop and does not . Please visit nokia website , you will see all issues . With out a proper and working email system this becomes a Chinese toy . Might as well buy one of those 2000 series instrument . Those who want email system , go for BB and only BB . It will take years for Nokia to catch up if they survive . With out high end phones Nokia will not survive and can not face other cheaper product . This is the catch
jigs_84, 12 Dec 2009awesome phone...feels gr8.. lot faster than e71...go for it ppl...so you'r esaying the loud speaker quality isn't disastrous?
kalboflyscot, 12 Dec 2009You can buy any of the colours here in the Philippines and they are all made in China, all of ... moreu cannot decide the manufatcturing country by the color of ur E72... finland has produced all 3 colors viz zodium black, topaz brown and grey. same is the case with hungary, germany, china etc...
What i have noticed is.. most of the nokia phones have their ICs built in some country and the total phone assembled in some other country... most parts of Asia have their Nokia phones made in china... but if u check out the ICs, they are mostly manufactured either in germany of korea...
The reason being... if u get a phone made in finland or germany then you wont find the phone's spare parts from finland or germany available in Asia... in Asia v get spare parts made from china... so this is y in most of Asia v get phone "Made in China"...

brynn, 12 Dec 2009looking back it seems lots of fones are RAM crippled,,i know in computer world ram is expensiv... moreI totally agree with you. We use a smartphone/PDA for many things. Some of the apps. drain the RAM quite abit and the phone suffers. As what you said, we eiher pay good money to buy the phone outright or we have to lock on a 2-3 year term with the carrier. I expect the device to atleast have a good size RAM. My BB 9700 has 115mb of free app. memory, which is a lot more than the E72. And I have 5 running apps. and the usual BB running apps. Nokia needs to shape up because having only 38mb of RAM is unacceptable.
Mark, 11 Dec 2009Hi All
Facing these problems.I had it for 2 week
1)Space botton does not work have... morehi mark
i totally agree with you on this. i got the phone not 2 days ago and it seems to be giving me much the same problems!
- the space bar seems to freeze if you take a call while typing!
- the navi-key has a mind of its own! it works some places and is useless at others! i was unable to use it while on a phone call. also, it doesn't work very well in camera options... and at times, it just doesn't work!
- the OS is tooooooooo slow! it feels like i'm using a pentium 3 processor in times of quad-cores! every application and menu takes its own sweet time to open and at times you need to reboot because the phone freezes!
- also, i personally feel the e71 had a better email setup and operation. much more simplified. here they have tried to cram up a lot of things into the phone and as a result, made it sluggish!
i hope all the bugs get sorted with a firmware! the pictures don't have an option of zoom until you open them in the editor! how lame is that?
i am back to using my blackberry javelin for now and have returned the phone but will be waiting for some positive inputs on the performance.
and also, i had a zodium black and it clearly says on the box that the manufacture is in china! that apart, the battery is quoted to be better than e71 but sadly, my e71 had much better battery performance. that phone still rules them all!
Hey guys, just picked up this phone and it's supurb. One question though that I can't seem to figure out the answer to, the "one touch keys" (the menu, calender, contacts, e-mail), all of them except the e-mail key give you the option to change what menu there a shortcut to except the e-mail one. Is there some way to change this or even a program that can do it?
Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970E72 and w995 have different targets. If you're a music lover and not install a lot of applications, w995 is suite to you.
E72 is more to people who need benefits of smartphone, and or people who need fast to text, well organizer, 3rd party application etc. Btw it's good too for playing music as it has DSP.
Hi, just bought an E72. Where are the IMs on the phone? I cant see Gtalk.. ovi chat etc. I read the phone come preloaded with'em?
I actually suggested (in the htc pro section i think)that we have a removeable memory card so why not a RAM slot as well???
Another point is recently i got a new laptop so went for as best i could for my money sacraficing hard drive space (have 500GB external hardrive)for 4GB RAM and extra 1MB of level 2 cache and core 2 duo proccessor yet that can still stall and crash,,so it must be the programming as well..
Nokiafan, 12 Dec 2009I bought the E72 a week ago and sold it 2 days ago. I had high hopes for this phone. The dpad ... morelooking back it seems lots of fones are RAM crippled,,i know in computer world ram is expensive but why stifle a fone cause of it...Most mobiles cost a small fortune or require an expensive long term contract,,so,, surley they deserve it at the expense of a few extra quid..
I bought the E72 a week ago and sold it 2 days ago. I had high hopes for this phone. The dpad feels cheap, it's made of plastic, unlike the E71 which has the metal surroundings. The speakers is much lower than the E71, very disappointed. And the RAM after I close all running apps is at 38mb. What is up with that Nokia??? Anyway, I'm back to my BB 9700. Much more reliable, many shortcuts, sceen res. is a lot better, the best when it comes to emails, it's the ulimiate communication device if that's what you're looking for. I have the N86 so I'm ok with the fact that the 9700 doesn't have radio. If you currently have the E71 and really need to upgrade, wait a couple of months to see Nokia fixes the bugs on the E72. Otherwise consider Blackberry or an Android phone. Nokia needs to get their act together.
