E72 has better specs but, in my opinion, E71 is still the best choice at this moment. It is just a matter of priorities and how much you value the difference in specs vs. the difference in price.
Can i know?
Is E72 support Unicode?
Please Give answer me...
Available in Qatar for QAR 1895 (USD 520). E71 available for QAR 1100 (USD 300). Worth spending almost double for just a higher megapixel camera and a 3.5mm jack ?? Enough clue for the ones with common sense !!
arhaan khan, 03 Dec 2009I am using this mobile and its such a wonderful mobile. Except for a bad email client, everything else is good.
Anonymous, 01 Dec 2009The phone is slow, when compared with e71. To test that I started acrobat in both. e71 took ba... moreHi. even i noticed the same. other apps seem slow too. possibly a firmware upgrade will help. will stick to my e71 meanwhile.
Sam, 02 Dec 2009Launched In India..Hurray...19.8K INR is the NPD Price..Grab yours!Sam,
Where in India a NPD is pricing it for 19,800 INR?
I checked here in Koramangala, Bangalore and the NPD here are quoting it for 20,900 INR.
Hello to all who own it in India, where is this device (that is available in India) made in?
Navin, 03 Dec 2009Hi All,
Yday i got to check out e72 and e71 at NPD Mulund, Mumbai.
Def E71 stands out bu... moreNavin,
If you prefer waiting even more wait till the fist software update is rolled out. Otherwise like me you can go for BlackBerry Curve 8520...
N yeah the VAT thing in Maharashtra really sucks man.. :'( Also itz strange it comes with and 8GB card. Coz nokia india site says 4 GB. Probably itz a pre-order goodie? What do you think?
Guys, is this E72 (or BB Bold 9700?) worth to replace an N82?
Need your advice, cos I'd like to have both good (no need to be great) multimedia capabilities and business apps as well..
Better E72 or Bold 9700?
Cos somehow I think the 'connecting people' thing is fit more to Blackberry rather than to Nokia. Do you agree?
Has any one tried their office mails using Mail for Exchange or Lotus notes data traveler. How is the office mails working. This is also an important decision point for someone buying this phone.
Just wanted to add to my below post. With regards to the speaker, I'm much more concerned with how the loudspeaker performs on phone calls and also how loud the ringtone is.
Music on the loudspeaker is not as important..afterall, I would usually use the headphones anyway (which I hear sounds great on the E72..so happy to hear about the 3.5mm jack.) If I really need an awesome music loudspeaker, I would connect a portable speaker which I already have. Plus, my currnet ipod touch would normally be my first choice music player.
But yeah the loudspeaker for calls seems pretty important.
Sarmad, 02 Dec 2009I am a big fan of Blackberry and still use 8900 Curve for my emails and official stuff. I alwa... moreHey Sarmad - I'm not gonna ask anything about the looks of the phone as we all know what it looks like by now!
Since you own the phone (and seem like you know what you're talking about), can you please give your opinions on the following:
-The optical trackpad. I've heard there are 3 settings and "high sensitivity" is obviously the best one. How is it on that setting? I'm most interested in the experience of using it when browsing the web, glancing through emails, and going through menu icons.
-The loudspeaker. It's located at the back of the phone, so how loud is the ringing of the phone? And how loud is the sound when putting the loudspeaker on when you're on a call? (Obviously you have to turn the phone over!) And how is the sound when listening to music? It's obviously not stereo sound, but is it loud and how does it compare to E71? I was concerned, because gsmarena gave it a "below average" rating for the speaker. For the record, I currently have a 6233 which is one of the loudest phones I've ever seen.
-Email experience. Yeah, the E72 is no blackberry, but how is the email experience? It supposedly has push email, but many people say that's not really true.
-Processor speed. 600 MHZ is great, but is it really much faster than the E71? And is it true that the handsets made in China actually have slower speed?
-How is the phone with Office documents, most specifically excel & PPT? Not too big a concern for me, but just curious about that.
No other doubts for the time being, as most other things are pretty obvious based on the reviews and specs. Anyone else is free to reply to this message as well. Thanks!
Yday i got to check out e72 and e71 at NPD Mulund, Mumbai.
Def E71 stands out but lets not compare literally and u will feel even E72 is not any less...its a solid phone with smart finish....
now NPD fellows couldnt show me Mailing and IM working....specially IM, guess they too couldnt set up the IM or god know whats the issue...
My top priority is Email and IM, so only i avoided E71 and waited for E72 which would have built-in IM...now here reviews are really making me confused...or should i go for BB but i really dont like the marraige contract for that BIS service...hows the experience of emails n im on E71 guys? can E71 suffice n be a option for me? or should i just wait for time being till things are fixed then buy around Jan?
E72 was priced at 21990 with 8gb card...remind you maharashtra state has 12% vat so pricewise its gonna be higher than other states of india where vat is just 4%
issues coming out over here about email, im set up is really worrying me...
I will buy the black E3. The E72 is perfect, but, it is new and I don't have enough money.Maybe after two years I will buy it when the price has hit rock bottom.
NESS, 03 Dec 2009Hi to everyone...
Today I went to a Mobile store and had a chance to compare E72 head to he... moreDont go for E72- It is not a fully equipped mailing device.
The e-mail client looks good, but it useless.
1) An email containing a "forward mail" cannot be viewed (the forward mail sent as an attachment cannot be viewed).
2) Some HTML formats are not supported.
3)Even when you have selected to download the complete mail including attachments for auto-retrieval, it only downloads the headers. When you open the mail, it then begins to download the full mail, thus wasting precious time.
E71/E63 software is much better
