Just bought this phone in London - it's brilliant and matches the hype with ease! A superb, very easy to use phone and with a very comfortable keyboard. I switched to this from a 5800 and it's a MUCH quicker, easy top use piece of kit.
Hi guys, to those lucky few who have the Nokia "Shiny Bullet" E72, my queries are as follows;
Can you confirm no accerolometer? I am not too bothered as I prefer Panoramic views anyway (which we get on TVs, PC monitors, laptops etc). This is why I love this phone.
Is charging only USB or can we choice between USB and a normal charger socket? What charger socket is supplied?
I am considering getting a 16 GIG Memory card? Will the phone take that? Do any of you have a 32 GIG SD card installed which works perfectly?
According to a new owner, the screen is not glass like the E71 but toughened plastic. Is this true?
Is the phone plastic as I have heard or completely metal like the E71?
How many games come with this phone and what games are they? I know I can download numerous from various websites but I am just curious.
For those game players, does the back or phone unit heat up when you play games for over an hour? This heaing occurs on my Nokia 5800 which I trade in for the Nokia E72.
It is NOW available in the UK from the UK Nokia website and the Nokia Store in Regents Street, West End London. Surely it now available in every part of the world apart from North America who always get phones last for some odd reason. I suppose those guys can buy online from Amazon, ebay, play (dot) com etc.
I think I prefer Silver or Black. Topaz doesn't look nice in my opinion. Maybe in the flesh, Topaz would look stunning. To be fair, I would take whatever colour my people give to me.
I'll purchase this in December and keep it for at least a year.
Anonymous, 18 Nov 2009When is the review coming on gsmarena? I wanna check that one out first before i buyWhile you wait for a thorough review from GSMArena, you might want to have a look at this one from a Swedish "tech paper"/mobile site (www.mobil.se): http://tiny.cc/lSHrJ :-) Enjoy!
Btw; the E72 comes into stock with some of the retailers at Friday (20th) and will be found in the shelfes of some of the dealers during the weekend...

I am still waiting for the E72...And to be honest, i dont think i will regret it...I lost my e51 some time ago and i have been using my 6230i for long now...I will really feel the difference when i do buy it...
Peace be upon you all,
I wanna ask about the Arabic-enabled version of Nokia E72, what about it? Is it finally released?
I can see some negative impressions about E72 in general. Please advise us back with a solid objective not subjective fair opinions about that phone. I'll be grateful to reply my questions below. Thanks a lot, brothers.
CPU speed enough?
Menu opens fast enough?
Applications are fast?
Digital Compass are working?
A-GPS works good using Nokia Maps?
Loudspeaker's quality and loudness?
Phone's normal speaker is loud enough during calls or quiet like E61i?!
Optical pad is convenient or it's a headache and not accurate?

The E72 has more metal parts that E71... just look at the navi keys... E71-platic.... E72-brushed metal...
What about bugs?
Please users, can you tell us about the bugs?
Thanks in advance
Can the E71 covers be used on the E72?
I think the choice of colours of E71, especially black, are better than that of E72. Can I put the black E71 cover on the E72?
For all living in Mumbai and wanting the E 72, it is available at the Alfa store in Irla, at Rs.24,750 without warranty. They say the phone with warranty will be available in December only.
I would not buy the E72. I just bought the E71 black edition. There is a simple reason why - the build quality of E71 is better compared to E72 (more metal parts, E72 is on the plastic side). Yes, E72 has newer software version, some new features (slightly snappier performance), but the difference in performance does not justify the cheaper materials used. The same situation is with E52 and E55, the older E51 features materials of higher quality. I had E55 and it started to collect dust particles between the screen and the panel cover, not to mention the flimsy frame (which is by the way made of plastic).
Hi Gentles, Any update about releasing in KSA and its Price please? Thanks alot for your benefit comments
carr, 18 Nov 2009@ Brynn, the display is 48 x 36mm according to mobile-review. Thax Carr,,i read that review but never saw it but your right its their,,maybe should concentrate more??
I think nokia is awesome! As the user of both BB Bold and nokia e71 now, I can tell you that BB is good for ofie functionality but if I go overseas, I can't connect to BB service (while roaming even) so my BBbold just become some dumb bulky device. While e71 still can connect with 3G, I dunno why but BB bOld 3G seems to lag much behind e71. Anw, I am upgrading to e72, can anyone tell me whether this phone has USB charging?? If yes, I will dump my BB BOld for sure.
I finally got my E72 yesterday from Vodafone. Here's my first impressions:
It's basically like a really slick upgrade on my N95 8GB. Fits nicely in your hand making it easy to text type emails. Email set-up is a breeze (Gmail, Yahoo and Live all supported out of the box for your personal emails).
Comes with facebook and MySpace but they are links to the mobile sites, not sure if there's a dedicated app (like they have for Symbian 5 series phones) but will check on Ovi.
Games that are not time limited demos are a Tetris style game called Block Cascade and a Solitaire collection. Lots of other demos, but am sure these are the ones Nokia has been putting on phones for ages (Midnight Pool 2 etc). They sit inside the 'games' icon from the 'Applications' folder.
Settings are now reached via a shortcut called 'Control Panel' and include all the usual things like Connectivity, Phone, 3-D tones, Themes etc.
Internet connectivity was blisteringly fast in areas where 3G was, I loaded the BBC iPlayer website (the full one, not the mobile one) in a matter of seconds and it was easily 600K plus in size.
Navigating around web pages is easy with the Navi key, but I find it tricky some times when moving around menus - it can be turned off though, as can the annoying 'breathing' notification light which makes the navi pad glow an eerie white colour every 10 seconds or so.
Keyboard layout is good, typing text and emails is easy and there are dedicated buttons for @,?,!,,,& and full stop.
Silent profile button is present on the 'Ctrl' key at the bottom right of the keyboard. Torch works by holding down the SPACE key for a few seconds (it's the LED flash) and then hold down again to turn off.
Quick Office comes installed (full version) and updates can be downloaded for free (just needs you to supply email, name and phone number). Also according to the manual, Maps comes with FREE walking guides, navigation, although I have yet to test this.
I could go on but there's so much...best bet is to post your questions up and I will answer them until the review turns up.
