I think nokia is awesome! As the user of both BB Bold and nokia e71 now, I can tell you that BB is good for ofie functionality but if I go overseas, I can't connect to BB service (while roaming even) so my BBbold just become some dumb bulky device. While e71 still can connect with 3G, I dunno why but BB bOld 3G seems to lag much behind e71. Anw, I am upgrading to e72, can anyone tell me whether this phone has USB charging?? If yes, I will dump my BB BOld for sure.
I finally got my E72 yesterday from Vodafone. Here's my first impressions:
It's basically like a really slick upgrade on my N95 8GB. Fits nicely in your hand making it easy to text type emails. Email set-up is a breeze (Gmail, Yahoo and Live all supported out of the box for your personal emails).
Comes with facebook and MySpace but they are links to the mobile sites, not sure if there's a dedicated app (like they have for Symbian 5 series phones) but will check on Ovi.
Games that are not time limited demos are a Tetris style game called Block Cascade and a Solitaire collection. Lots of other demos, but am sure these are the ones Nokia has been putting on phones for ages (Midnight Pool 2 etc). They sit inside the 'games' icon from the 'Applications' folder.
Settings are now reached via a shortcut called 'Control Panel' and include all the usual things like Connectivity, Phone, 3-D tones, Themes etc.
Internet connectivity was blisteringly fast in areas where 3G was, I loaded the BBC iPlayer website (the full one, not the mobile one) in a matter of seconds and it was easily 600K plus in size.
Navigating around web pages is easy with the Navi key, but I find it tricky some times when moving around menus - it can be turned off though, as can the annoying 'breathing' notification light which makes the navi pad glow an eerie white colour every 10 seconds or so.
Keyboard layout is good, typing text and emails is easy and there are dedicated buttons for @,?,!,,,& and full stop.
Silent profile button is present on the 'Ctrl' key at the bottom right of the keyboard. Torch works by holding down the SPACE key for a few seconds (it's the LED flash) and then hold down again to turn off.
Quick Office comes installed (full version) and updates can be downloaded for free (just needs you to supply email, name and phone number). Also according to the manual, Maps comes with FREE walking guides, navigation, although I have yet to test this.
I could go on but there's so much...best bet is to post your questions up and I will answer them until the review turns up.
In your comment, you mentioned that those are BB users, if so, why would they hook on to E72. ....That shows BB's performance screwed them royally, that could be the reason for the switch. Secondly, they might not have come out of shock (including U) from bitter experience of BB or whatever other devices they used so far. It takes some time for U and Ur friends to understand E72 and its capabilities. Start learning it and it is easy to learn also. Hope very soon u will come back to normal.
Anonymous, 18 Jun 2009i hope this one come out soon before mid july and available in three plan australia i wish too :P
Anonymous, 18 Nov 2009Why the are so many E72 haters here??Probably coz they have bought it and are absolutely not amazed with its performance ?? Also I am sure they have been BB users before and that's why Nokia E72 has disappointed them (Consistant performance from Nokia) I wonder how many stupids are still waiting for this stupid phone :D

I have to agree with you but the pouch for E72 is really difficult. I mean, sometime i cant get my E72 out from the pouch. But maybe i'll get use to it in the furture. Oh...and E72 is far more lighter than E71.
Anonymous, 18 Nov 2009wait for few days dear n u will get it for 22000 and it has a arm11 600mhz proalready available at cmk for P20500
Hi all, just got my E72 last night and have been exploring it function. With the 600mhz ARM11, you seriously cannot find any lag even with a few apps running in the background. The optical trackpad is good for web browsing and i am surpise that it can even go diagonally. Come with a case similar to E71 but i prefer E72 one, and of cause the lanyard. One thing that E72 lose out to E71 is the screen. E72 screen is cover by plastic while E71 is cover by hard glass. It hae it's pros and cons tho. Anyway for those who have use E71 this is definetly a upgrade with nicer design and features. For those who have try the E72, give it a try you would like it!
PS: i like the way it's camera capture images. It is fast and the flash is real cool ! (:
I am a very happy E72 user and i am using the zodium black which will nvr go wrong? haha!

Ali, 17 Nov 2009E72 is available in Lahore Pakistan but only in topaz brown colour for Rs 44,000....i went mys... moreHi Ali,
After testing the phone out in a nokia shop London for a period of time, i came to a conclusion that it has been improved by upto 20% from the E71, thats in reference to general phone's useage and its preformance, apps and instruction excecution is deff noticeable and this was compared side by side with the E71, It also has better navigation i,e via its new trackpad and has its deffiantly quicker and more responsive.Battery Life well its suppose to be better but that will need extensive tests before making a verdict. I would buy this as a new purchase but not neccessairly and upgrade from an E71.
