I have owned every communicator from Nokia since the 9000. The E90 is by far the worst telephone that NOKIA has ever sold me. It's lucky for me that I still have my old 9300i, for without it I would be without an operable phone. What's the deal? Let's start with a few problems: Here is the list: 1. From the beginning my phone has often failed to boot up. I have had to re-boot the phone at times 20 times for it to work. I was told by Nokia that the problem may be a defective SIM. However, I have 3 SIMs and they all have the same problem and only in this phone. I even changed SIMs with no difference. 2. Often when the phone does boot-up (meaning that I get something more than the white screen with NOKIA on it), I get the message, "Phone start-up failed. Contact the retailer." This is a major problem in that my "retailer" is in another country & continent from where I am. Oh, you think that Nokia has World Wide warranties? Think again. I went to a Nokia "Flagman store" and was sent to their Nokia service center. Being a member of Club Nokia made little difference. I was told that I would need to leave the phone for, "about 1-2 months" (not a misprint) and that there would be a charge of roughly 50-100 $ for repairs. This for a phone that is less than 6 months old! I decided to put up with the hassle. 3. Being persistent I keep re-booting & re-starting and eventually I could get this phone to work. However then the next problem came along: that of the calendar failing. Here I received an error message stating, "Memory full: Close some applications and try again." Note that although I use the calendar heavily, when I check the memory status I have less than 1 MB used for the calendar function. Overall, when I check for memory, I have plenty. Not to mention the 2 GB MiniSD card that I have installed. Not enough problems? Here comes number 4. The microphone stops working. Great situation. You are making a call and the other party doesn't hear you. You speak louder. You call them back. They call you back. Finally, you come to the realization that the built-in microphone has bought the farm. The only good this did for me is that I was forced to purchase a bluetooth headset, Nokia BH-900, which is a good piece of equipment.
Now, gentle reader you may ask, what to do? Wait until I am in the US (where I purchased the phone) in February so I can take it in for repairs? Pay the exorbitant rate in Europe for repairs and wait a few months besides? Suggestions are welcome.

I am a Nokia user for the past 20 years ( that is way back in 1987 and some of you were not born yet). I have used Nokia mobile phones from the bulky car mobile phone to N95 (current model i am using).
Nokia have spent millions of dollar in their R&D and their engineers are second to none.
The birth of Nokia E90 has stirred up the business phone revolutions from their predecessors.
My comment is nothing more than just wanting to have a trouble free phone such as the E90 BUT with current problems, I practically differed my intention to purchase one.
Nokia should have looked into all aspects when designing this model before it rolled out from the factory.
As users, why should we buy something if the problems such as mentioned in the column encountered by users, and users too; why buy knowing that you will face these problems. At the end of the day we faced a situation where everyone argued in this column by posting problems after problems.
Let us be honest, if the E90 is so perfectly designed especially for the money we need to spend to have one; we should not be hearing grouses from users. All should be thumbs up and congratulate Nokia's engineers for their excellent works.
Much regret its the reversed...
I am from India, this phone sucks. It has numerous bugs, my sincere advice to every one not to buy this brick. My E90 has gone back to Nokia service center and is with them since two months and no reply from them as yet. Its better to go on a holiday than spending sleepless nights after shelling out 35K+ on the damn stupid stone.
Screens Protector may be available but 3 outof 10 land perfect otherwise bubbles even with equip provided. stil after 15days i cannot read text becoz SP has impressions of keypad. backcover batt, and batt itself is BP4L originally for 95000 but used here tooo loooose it rattles.Best way to check takeoff the batt cover and invert the fonz it will fall out. U hav to pad it on sides not to rattle. This is the Flagship of Nokia n 21st Century. CHeeeers.

do you think guys screen protector solves the keypad touching the screen becoz when i bought my E90 I actually bought also a screen protector but even if it has screen protctor still I can see keypads leaving marks on the screen..
The screen protectors are in the PDA accesories or Foto Cameras accesories shops!Another good review here: http://my-symbian.com/s60v3/review_e90.php
What abt the battery looseness and cover, the rattle of batt is annoying,i had to put padding which is ridiculous. The inner screen protector is 50$ but u hav to waist 2 or 3 to get them right, otherwise bubbles remain source of view hindrance. What is use of updating when hardware problem
