Carlos Porto, 21 Nov 2013another fanboy... who is asking here what nokia want´s to do ???guys this is 1000 times batter than samsng sony and any other brand in this rang in market
I and my uncle bought Lumia 1050 2 days ago. I realized that both phones got defected screen. They have dark spots in the screens. We couldn't see the spots in lights. Does any one have this short of problem too? But the phone is super great. Really love the camera.
I have always been a nokia fan, Symbian sort of ruined their reputation a bit but, I was still faithful to the old tried and trusted nokia. I have owned many a phone including and not limited to samsung, sony, and htc, with android and have plenty of experience with iOS, but I have never come across an OS that handles so smoothly and does everything with such style and flair. Another bonus is that nokia combined with the Windows phone 8 is Virus free as with my Lumia 920 owned for more that a year now, and to add to this, my phone has fallen in the pool has been dropped from a 2 story building and still works as the day I bought it, might be scratched a bit but nothing has been replaced. Also the phone has only once restarted itself ever and never gets stuck... it never lags and never disappoints... Nokia... Like a BOSS
AnonD-99237, 20 Nov 2013Enough from me. All Lumia 920 owners, donot make haste in upgrading to 1020, it isn't the upgr... morei have used a 920 as well. Then i purchased the 1020, and it is different in one thing, the thing that does matter for the most people who upgrade or buy this phone: the camera. My reason for upgrading to a 1020 was simple, the camera. And that is a huge upgrade, if you fully use the camera capabilities. So it certainly is an upgrade, and if you're not looking for a 41mp camera, then go for the 920 or 925, both are fantastic. But the camera is the main update over the other lumia's and the main reason for people who want this phone after used a 920. The 1020 is not meant for a complete new follower of the 920 or 808. The 1520 is, with different hardware specs and a more up to date wp8 os.
I think Nokia is trying come back to the market but I doupt it.... Android and IOS over took them with everything. I used to be a Nokia fan, but just for a small reason I left them and I don't like Nokia phones anymore. The reason I left is simple, because if you purchase a phone in EU or USA, those phones doesn't support certain languages, and this is really annoying, where as on Android or IOS, you don't want to worry......
Enough from me. All Lumia 920 owners, donot make haste in upgrading to 1020, it isn't the upgrade you expected. 920 is an ultimate camera phone in all regards. Nokia 808 owners try cheaper alternates as 2nd phones, stick with your 808. All other OS users try 1020 as a change, if affording.
AnonD-1097, 20 Nov 2013Bro i don't agree. With u..i,have both.. I,love 808 also...but now. Using Lumia 1020 i,know ho... moreDon't follow book specs. Read gsmarena review for slow rendering and saving am not concerned with WP8 OS it indeed is great hence am using 625, haven't abandoned it. My review was specifically for Lumia 1020 camera against Lumia 920. The OIS 2nd Gen in 1020is low rated compared to Lumia 920. And so are other CAMERA interface related issues.
As said before, my review was for Lumia 920 updaters not 808. 808was referred as its what Nokia is opting for in new updated algorithms. 808 had a dedicated hardware RAW rendering of pictures, not digital rendering as in 1020. Read the review again and also link provided. Donor haste in nullifying facts accepted widely.
The review is also directed to NOKIA on giving us a over stated slow CAMERA PHONE, with poor color rendering, poor OIS. PLEASE put emphasis on improving speed and lowering intershot latency, RAW imaging is impractical and further exacerbate the sluggish interface.
AnonD-99237, 19 Nov 2013Noise gone...vanished! Lol, Atleast someone accepted that 1020 pics were noisy. According to N... moreBro i don't agree. With u..i,have both.. I,love 808 also...but now. Using Lumia 1020 i,know how slow,808 is. Lumia 1020 is very smooth and fluid.iam using my custom wallpaper with glance screen it was there in Symbian also
should learn how to use it. Don't forget 1020 camera is superior than 808 coz of various features..ois...better for macro shots...good camera effects like action ,best and etc i would def use Lumia 1020 over 808 and windows is more a modern. OS. Even apps wise windows has quality apps than Symbian. Symbian is dead...amd will not have new or good apps 808 is very good just as camera then. Thou i will always keep my 808. These words r coming from a Symbian lover. Symbain is and will be best os ever..coz of no app support its dead today .
Good honest comparison between 808 and 1020!
Noise gone...vanished! Lol, Atleast someone accepted that 1020 pics were noisy. According to Nokia, the noise is due to new algorithms for sharpening and oversaturation which is expected to be reduced by reverting to Nokia 808 algorithms. The camera update may affect User interface but NOT CAMERA ALGORITHMS which are specific for 1020 and will be applied with BLACK update in January 2014.
If its 808 algorithms they are reconsidering than why invest on 2600AED phone when 808 is available for 900aed, and is faster in comparison.
Glance screen is good with default images, try a custom image to see it badly pixelated. Compare glance screen on 920 and 1020!
