You can't play the file coz there is no respective application... And you can't delete the file coz you can't see it... Then the only way to delete and free up the space is connect to a pc... If Os disallows something, file manager too cannot do it. For e.g in latest jellybean there is no way to install most apps on SD card and there is file manager. File manager only does what OS allows it to do.

After one month use
The best configuration phone you can get from a reputed brand at this price range
Design. 520 has got the best design among the whole Lumia series and other brand phones at same price range and above

Picture and video hubs are real mess. Picture hub tile and background displays random pictures, no matter its ur girlfriends picture or pornstars...
In picture hub all pictures in one place no way to categorize, same problem arises with video hub... Privacy matters...
In camara options lot of features are missing... autofocus not working well with small subjects and shutter lag is really high
No way to know files properties and size
Auto rotation on/off not present
No default voice recorder
In app store most of the popular games are absent. And popular apps like WhatsApp, Wechat etc are buggy...
No notification center. WhatsApp and Wechat notifications are not displaying in a timely manner.
Working with SD card is real mess specially document files
Files recived via Bluetooth directly goes to saved pictures. No matter its a video file or image and no way to move it to video hub.
A PC installed with windows 7 or higher required for file transfer operations. Coz file manager missing in phone
Phone stopped responding First time started music player. Battery removed
Phone stopped responding while receiving a file via Bluetooth. Battery removed
Phone restarted automatically

1 time while using WhatsApp
2 times while using WeChat
Wechat stopped responding 5 times. Restarted manually
WhatsApp 3 times. Restarted manually
Temple run closes in Middle
UC browser closes in Middle, shows memory buffering, refreshing page when comes to foreground.
yes bro..u can remove songs by zune pc software...video and audio won't sync with zune...
mandoos, 06 Jul 2013I have been using WP (7&8) for the last 2 years and never felt a need for a file manager. ... moreFrom my experience using Android, file manager is useful when:
1. I would like to attach documents files via email in case the documents are inside microSD
2. My microSD has Word files, I would like to read them again, with file manager, at that time I just find the files and open them. Windows Phone 8 can't do that
3. With file manager I almost very less using PC (for people who don't have PC), I can read files directly inside microSD. View what my files that I think I don't need them again and remove some unnecessary files directly via file manager
4. I can save apps (the data and raw files) on microSD, so I don't use internal memory to much. Many phone with mid end price only have 4GB or 8 GB internal memory, while for 32 GB or more, they are categorized as high end price
