AnonD-82270, 11 Apr 2013I do not understand why you do have doubts. Microsoft said NOTHING about 18 months support and... moreReason for my doubts are same as App.... said. But It will be interesting if that happen again.
But I think it will be better If those updates solve all WP 8 problems.(For Example only IE need - Home button, Download Manager, Way to direct close instead of instead of keep pressing back.)
If Microsoft solve all that problems in one final update, I'll be happy instead of giving series of update which will not solve all problems.
(As you know there is no download manager since WP 7 and even after launch of WP 8 still no download manager)
Thanks for info rabbit55, always happy to learn something new.

I myself am a victim of it, so unless and until I see it with my own eyes, I will also be doubting it.
I mean no disrespect and I am extremely thankful for sharing this knowledge with us. Though am doubtful, but yet I am optimistic and the info that you have provided has helped me and others a lot. Thank you :)

SuperNexus, 11 Apr 2013Every WP user will be happy if Microsoft do that.
But still I have my doubts.
I don't kn... moreI do not understand why you do have doubts. Microsoft said NOTHING about 18 months support and all. It is a media drawing all conclusions, based on addition of WP8 as a product on support page (link I have provided in earlier post). But no one really understood how things work for MS products except few people who are into IT or using MS services extensively.
I repeat again that MS has said nothing and they won't. They just added WP8 and WP7.8 to product list along with their lifecycle. Its a support page and what they mean is patches, fixes, stability improvements not a new feature. And if they have new features to add, they bring new version covered by its own support cycle. This is how MS works and its pretty straightforward.
Regarding updates, yes WP 8.x Blue could be a last update for 512MB devices. Before that, two OS updates are coming, GDR2 and GDR3 which probably will focus on adding minor yet needed things (like GDR1 update) and not a major UX and OS overhaul.
AnonD-82270, 11 Apr 2013But that is the case only. Each new version of any Microsoft product brings fresh 18 months of... moreEvery WP user will be happy if Microsoft do that.
But still I have my doubts.
I don't know what exactly Microsoft said -
WP 8 will get 18 months support.
WP 8 devices will get 18 months support.
If it is devices then WP 8.1 will going to L620 ultimate update.
But there is no official statement from Microsoft about further 18 months support to current WP 8 devices.
All this confusion is happening because Microsoft didn't make clear statement about this.
I still think that WP Blue(might be known as WP 8.1) will going to be L620 last update.
But I'll be happy, if I am wrong about this.
please reply me which is the best video player in windows phone plays all formats of videos.as like as mx player in android.
hi my phone can not find any update when i search for update appear your phone is update and my mobile have an old firmware .i am from iraq any one have information about how can update my phone pls reply
Using it for a week now. No signs of Lag. Moved from Android to Windows Phone 8. Yes the app catalouge is small but I did not buy a phone just to play Temple run. Most of social networking apps are available. Instagram is not available. Temple run works only on Windows phones that have 1 GB or more RAM, but there is romours that with the new updates in the app, devices with 512 RAM would get to download and play temple run. Asphalt 7 was also missing on store but Asphalt 7 is available now on 512 RAM devices. It is very fluid and smooth. Internet Sharing did not work for me! :( Look and feel is very good compared to all other mid range Android devices. Screen quality is brilliant. And 3G runs without a glitch. however, if you are a heavy 3G user and use Store/Facebook/Twitter or browse internet then battery would dischange in 5-6hr (from 100% Charge). Just to check the stand-by capacity of the battery i did not use 3G or wifi and the battery lasted for 39 hour (Pretty Good!)
[deleted post]No...no...not yet but am buying this piece in 2weeks time, yeah u can go for it! according to its specs compared to other android brothers in this range...its way much better!
About its screen i think its at par!! with 246ppi and clear black technolgy am sure u wont be dissappointed ma friend!!

Anonymous, 10 Apr 2013guys.. how to watch live TV in Lumia 620.. i just bought this phone..? Also tell me, if i use ... moreThere is problem in Nokia Lumia 620 that is songs volume doesn't increase or decrease for some songs that is a bug but if you press and hold volume key down and lock key button at the same time for 10-12 second It will get restarted.. Bingo problem is sovled
Am happy to have it. It's a very nice phone with better user interface.
AnonD-41271, 11 Apr 2013You got me wrong me mate, one less pizza from my pocket, but still got friends around to rob t... moreI am sure that all 512 MB devices will get all GDR updates (GDR2 and GDR3) and Windows Blue with new lifecycle (some features likely to be compromised for 512 MB devices like Tango did with 256 MB 7.5 devices).
and 1GB devices will get all WP blue software feature. However Blue will take time to arrive on existing devices as MS, Nokia and other partners will first launch fresh new devices with new WP Blue supported hardware like 1080p displays and then update existing devices (common marketing tactic in industry)
SuperNexus, 11 Apr 2013Now that's neutral(commenting in favor of both sides). Next time I also do that.
If you ... moreBut that is the case only. Each new version of any Microsoft product brings fresh 18 months of support. That is why WP7 devices like HTC HD7, Samsung Focus (launched in October 2010 with WP7) are still supported till 9-9-2014 because they received WP 7.8 update in Feb 2013. Same is the case with Nokia Lumia 7.5 deviced like 710 and 800. Although they were released in Nov 2011, they will still be supported till Sep 2014 because they received 7.8 update and WP 7.8 is supported till Sep 2014.
Same is with desktop windows versions. They have 5 years of support cycle. XP SP3 is still supported because it was launched in 2008. However SP1 (2002) and SP2 (2004) support is ended now (I have no exact dates for this but you can search on internet)
The thing is, what MS mean by support is security support and patches if any vulnerability is reported. It does not mean new features. However EACH new version of MS product with new features brings its own support lifecycle.
Now it is obvious that Lumia 620 and other low and mid range WP8 devices will at least receive one major feature upgrade, so support will be extended further by 18 months.
