SuperNexus, 15 Feb 2013It is about making it clear. Nokia never clear when they are launching this phone. I'll feel l... moreAs for the proof of not updating, you can do an entire PhD for Android Fragmentation and Update Issues. Its every where on the Internet.
For making it clear
1) No company makes it clear the release date until they are absolutely sure that they are ready, they will always tell you its around the corner.
2) I have asked and enquired many companies before this about their devices launches but they all replied the same that its around the corner.
3) Some even cancelled their device launch in India, even when they had said they would launch. Example are Ace 2 and all Nexus devices.
4) Nokia might be late, but they at least launch.
For WP8 devices not getting upgraded to WP9
1) You also don't have proof of that.
2) There won't be WP8.1, 8.5, or even 9. Google for Windows Blue. You will get it why.
For hardware upgradition
1) I am not, completely unneccessary processing power is wasted. Tell me what are going to do with quads and gigs? Play games? watch videos? We don't even use that much processing power on a computer in a day to day life, putting that on a mobile is just a waste. Along with that the money of the customer is wasted as well
2) Environmental hazard increases with every mobile that is thrown away in short period of time. Nokia builds pieces that lasts, also Nokia has their own recyling plant, where they recycle old mobiles, no other company does that.
For gaining moolahs
1) Agree every company does that, and even Nokia does, but it does so with keeping consumers in mind. Not like samsung who doesnt even care.
WP7 and WP8
1) WP7 was based on CE kernel while WP8 is based on NT kernel. The same kernel that has been around since Windows 2000 and even todays Windows has it. This is the reason they WP7 devices could make the jump. But that doesn't mean that they are discarded, even the lowest speced are updgraded to 7.5 and now 7.8. Show me that on Android.
2) WP7 was extermely limited on expansion, where as WP8 has support for 128 cores and 500 gigabyte of expandable memory.
Please research more about WP you will get all your answers. If you don't get any, ask me, I will help you out as much as I can. I am also hoping that keylime pie end the androids fragmentation, it can be done, but companies won't do it. Cause now it will reduce their profits.
hey yes:-) just 15 days to go, i'm waiting nokia:-) :-) :-) love u always
Coming soon L620, 15 Feb 2013Big thumb down to Nokia India for indefinite delay for launching Nokia Lumia 620 handset. The ... moreNot the whole world. Philippines got it today. Today was Pakistan and Nepal. Day before that was Germany. Markets yet to receive are Australia, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, USA, Nigeria. So it a global roll out. I have already mentioned the reason for the delay but for you I will tell it again. It because the piece is extremely popular and Nokia is currently low on resources and money, but they are trying to keep up. If you are giving thumbs down for delay, what will you give to the companies that don't even launch good devices here in India. The only pieces they launch are either high end, which arrive way latter than 2 months or cheap low end plastics.
TheApprentice, 15 Feb 2013So you are ok with the not launching than a delay? Really? Elop was hired after the downfall h... moreIt is about making it clear. Nokia never clear when they are launching this phone. I'll feel like stupid if this phone come in march or Nokia fool me.
I agree with that if Nokia produce android then they would still be number 1.
and stop imagining that new android phone can not support new version. Do you have any proof of that. Only Microsoft do like that 7.x phone never updated to 8.x phone and I am quite sure that no 8.x running phone will get 9.x update, no matter how premium product is.(and the company who do that is making excuse nothing else)
Their are some limitation of Android. Android is open source and that is why whenever new version come company change and make their own UI, which is a point of difference.
Still Window is behind android in term of feature and apps but the thing i like it offer smooth experience and update. It is a good time to buy because it is new, when 8.5 come that will be bad time to go with window.
About hardware- aren't you happy that hardware is keep upgrading.I love to see that because first hardware come and then software come, if not we'll be still on basic phone and company like Micromax is only good on paper not in real life
About money every company want $$$, it is not just Samsung, it include Nokia too
and about OS it happen with every os, when new come current become old d. Same happen with WP when WP 8 come WP 7.5 become old.All android phone which run out of box on JB will be update to Key Lime Pie. We all know that mid ranger phone will get one update and premium phone will get more than 1 update.
blrguy15, 15 Feb 2013Just came across this website "Gizbot" their source says that the phone will be avai... moreWas reading the same. Oh well, patience is bitter but the fruit is sweeter. On one side I want less people to buy this phone, so that I stand out in crowd, be different, be better. On the other I want more people to buy this phone as this phone is really good. Even for the price of 16K. But then again I am no one to tell others how and where they are supposed to spend their money. Will wait for this device, waited till now, a more few weeks won't do any harm. :)
TheApprentice, 15 Feb 2013So you are ok with the not launching than a delay? Really? Elop was hired after the downfall h... moreBig thumb down to Nokia India for indefinite delay for launching Nokia Lumia 620 handset. The launch date is not yet announced even after 2 months. Lumia 620 released across the world except India. What is so special, they think, in India for which they are delaying the launch? India is big market for them but what is the real reason for the delay? Even the price is not yet declared. Delay cannot help them to survive if the price is above 15K. Already they have made enough delay here. It will fail like 920 & 820 (high price). They have already killed Symbian OS. Now only option left with them is Windows OS to survive. Consumers have enough choices for other manufacturers & OS instead of waiting for Nokia for 2 months. Completely lost faith in Nokia India for this indefinite delay to launch the handset.
Just came across this website "Gizbot" their source says that the phone will be available on 1st week of march.
Anonymous, 15 Feb 2013done that twice alreadyI am so sorry, but I swear it had scratch resistance written.
Now early March. This time looks true
TheApprentice, 15 Feb 2013Go read the specs firstdone that twice already
Anonymous, 15 Feb 2013no screech resistance....? Go read the specs first
SuperNexus, 15 Feb 2013It has been month and still no news about launch. what kind of Nokia management is? They can't... moreSo you are ok with the not launching than a delay? Really? Elop was hired after the downfall had started, the downfall didnt happen because of Elop.
Didnt you read what I have written below? there is huge demand, and nokia is extremely short on resources and money. Plus there the future of nokia is now dependent on its show in MWC which is just 10 days from now.
As for Nokia and android. Samsung had become too powerful to be defeated, if nokia had gone with android, samsung would have eaten it up. No point in opening a pizza place in an area which already has 10 pizza places, you have to be different to survive plus if Nokia had gone with android, they would have to pay MS more dollars per device as ever android sold MS gets $2. And again its a case of money that Nokia doesn't have much.
What new hardware? increasing the cores, gigs and dpi just to start a number game is not a hardware, even company like micromax can do that. Agree not many mid rangers are on JB, but they are now what happens when they next version comes out during may? these pieces will be worth trash, again you will hear the same old words. Your hardware is not supported. Samsung just want your $$$ and nothing more, their devices are cheap, they keep on increasing the numbers so that a device that is just 3 months old seem already seems out of date. Samsung wants you to change your mobile every six months just to cash in more moolahs and now others are doing the same. Only Nokia stands out that wants a customer to have his phone for a longer period of time as more the device lasts the more respect a company gains and more new customers.
TheApprentice, 15 Feb 2013Dude calm down, what if Nokia releases this piece without appropriate stock? It will be out of... moreIt has been month and still no news about launch. what kind of Nokia management is? They can't even give a releasing date.Almost all world got and we still......and I said that other companies are better than Nokia because they do not delay phone this much. Either they will not launch in India or they'll launch it soon.
and about Nokia downfall, Nokia is self responsible for that their CEO(Stephon Elop,ex Microsoft employee) is way too depend on Microsoft. He ditch Symbian and Meego(now know as Jolla Sailfish)and we all know the relationship between Microsoft & Google(Android)and that is why Nokia do not produce Android phone.
and about others
HTC- they think them self as premium and their phones are overpriced.
LG- Very poor software support. Their many phone start & stuck on gingerbread and they don't even bother to give an update.
Sony - Well I think soon they will be profitable but they are very slow in update. See 2011 & 2012 mid range phone start with Gingerbread and end with ICS. Their Display quality is not good and some time they come up with something worthless which increase the price if they sold it normal at reasonable price they also would be successful.
Samsung - Well they are very aggressive, and they always come up new hardware & software very soon. You know any middle range phone running on Jelly Beam now. Their is only one S3 mini. So, no wonder they are successful. They launch more phone than any company at all possible prices.
SuperNexus, 15 Feb 2013If it is march then bye-bye Nokia. This phone not worth this much waiting. In Jan my My like... moreDude calm down, what if Nokia releases this piece without appropriate stock? It will be out of stock within days and then you guys will say bad to Nokia again. I am not saying you have to buy this. But try to understand Nokia's point of view. There is not a single bad review for this phone around the globe. Think how much they have to produce and supply. The demand of good piece in 15-16K is much much more higher in India than in any other country and Nokia knows this. Also Nokia is seriously short on money and resources, they are selling their building and headquarters to raise money so that you guys can get your mobiles. Samsung/Sony/HTC/LG doesn't give a rats az to your liking, if that would have been the case Nexus and other good mid rangers would have launched in India. So don't you ever say Nokia is Shi*y. Its way better than all these. The proof is Android scenario itself, leaving out Samsung, no other company made profit, even when they were selling android pieces, and the reason for that is when Nokia went down, Samsung took the opportunity and spammed the market with android devices just to create an illusion of being a better brand, over shadowing others. Samsung today is number one not because it defeated Nokia head to head, but because Nokia slipped down. If you want to go and buy other company's android, you are free to go.
I personally feel nokia is doing the right thing in India as they are stocking it up enough so stocks dont run out in a matter of hours...look at the mm canvas hd launched yesterday and went out of stock in a matter of mins now although its back on stock it ships only in 20 days....and so is the case with most lumia handsets in other countries frustrating the consumers despite being launched....
So really guys do u only want to see nokia have this phone launched in india at a price and,is out of stock before u buy or do u want to be able to buy it right away when u walk into a shop at anytime and any color u want? Thats why nokia is making us wait and i am sure they wont dissapoint :)
Hi Guys called Nokia care India(30303838) said L620 will release in Feb for sure but no exact dateActually he also waiting for this itseems :) .Price is not know should around approx 14k -15k.
