Read it carefully & u will understand that what Mr elop has done & why.. stop blaming for silly reasons
Stupid people who ran Nokia into ground, are cursing Elop for taking the hard decisions that are necessary for Nokia to survive....
Regarding Elop being "Mole" : Those who own Nokia decided to give the job to man who worked in Microsoft, they knew what they were doing. IT IS THEIR DECISION, they care about their investment and either they liked Elop's strategy or they WANT TO BE BAILED OUT by Microsoft.
Elop's predecessors wasted precious time and money on Symbian to make it comparable to iOS which was built from ground up, they should have used that time and money on Maemo - Meego - Tizen but instead they treated Maemo as side project for a long time and made MANY unnecessary changes (mistakes).
They started with Debian-GTK-apt/dpkg.. they should have continued to work on that (coming from LONG time arch-KDE-pacman user). BTW, WTF is the point of full fledged "Package" manager that are used for dependence resolution etc, on Mobile device ? A simple app package download-(un)installer should be enough.
But no, they bought Trolltech, and decided to use Qtopia instead of what they had already built..
Yet, they still continued with many GTK along with some QT-Qtopia ?
Did they stop with that ? NO.
They roped in Intel and merged Intel's project into Maemo, and Meego was born, and with it, Debian was gone, so was dpkg/apt and I think that was replaced with yum/rpm with probably fedora as base (not sure).
Then I remember reading that they bought in Novell's Opensuse's "One Click Install". Seriously, have anyone tried it on Desktop ? It is slow as hell (Suse's package manager SUCK).
One would expect that these are one too many mistakes anyone can make, but GENIUSES at Nokia hadn't stopped yet. They later decided to use Btrfs as file system, and Wayland as display server (replacing X i guess). Neither are ready RIGHT NOW, and though wayland does makes sense(though it further delays the project) but Btrfs makes NO SENSE. Btrfs is relevant for corporations like Dropbox for example.. what is the benefit of using it on Mobile devices ?
And this is just the OS part, on SDK front both Nokia(Qt Quick/Mobility) and Intel went different ways.. I wonder either managed to get SDK ready..
By the time Elop joined, Geniuses had plundered most of the money on project that has been a perpetual Work-In-Progress.. not just underlying OS - SDK but also the name itself (Maemo-Meego.. now Tizen).
Even a fraction of the above mentioned mistakes are enough to kill any project.. Elop saw what is very obvious, that Maemo-Meego-Tizen stood no chance against Apple's iOS, Microsoft's WP7 and Google Android.
He realized that Nokia does not have the cash that Apple(~70 Billion) - Microsoft (~60 Billion) - Google (don't know) have. So he did what was right, killed Obsolete Symbian and Perpetual-WIP Maemo-Meego-Tizen.
Microsoft offered them Nokia money that Google didn't. What do these jokers expect him to have done ? Not accept money ?
Nokia as now admitted that when calling on this phone that there is problem with it,as when you make a call an you think you have ended it,it is still showing connected so is this another problem with Nokia Windows phones, but Nokia only chose Windows because it was Mr Elops old employees Microsoft giving Nokia $250 MILLION,now Nokia will be saying a future software update will solve this problem, but Windows is the Wrong choice made by Nokia

AnonD-30444, 08 Feb 2012Yeah zune works same like itunes. You can add media to zune and then sync it to ur phone. But no... moreCan zune and itunes be installed onto the same coomputer? Both import songs from the same music library?
I bought this phone and I am hugely impressed with it. It just works like a charm. The device is fast, battery life is solid and Windows Phone is amazing. Very intuitive and easy to use. I am coming from an android device(clunky and saturated compared to iOS or WP7) and I could find every app (or its replace) I needed. I'd recommend this phone to everyone.
[deleted post]does your phone display name and the number of a new caller who is not saved in your contact list yet?
And does the phone keep the name and the number of that new caller in your call log?
