The build quality of the phone is Superb, even better than galaxy s2. but as per specification, it lags front camera and other major featured, and the OS is bit difficult to use. Only intense advertising will not help.God knows what is the future of windows phone OS.
Jojje, 09 Jan 2012Funny... There are two types of comments on this phone. 1. People who have actually used it... moreI agree with u... 100% rite. people who are posting bad things about Nokia lumia 800 are those who haven't used it.
Its been almost one month with my Nokia Lumia 800. had the much discussed battery issue which they replaced with a new one at my door step(thumps up for Nokia about this) and with a Nokia J bluetooth headset as free:)...Now I am very much happy...the above mentions problem by my fello readers forgot that Apple's iPhone the great also lacked mass storage, card slot, bluetooth sharing etc....the reason for this is Windows and iOS are closed source unlike android. You might know Windows Desktop OS has the highest virus threatning rate compared to any other OS. The same can be expect in Mobile also.
I must point this out...Internet Explorer lol, the best browser, its faster than any other by 5 times....flash or silverlight, then why we have HTML5 guys????MS Office, Outlook, you should test it how fast your mail being send, how fast your photos getting uploaded and downloaded in Facebook etc. Skydrive acts similat to my HDD with its fast,,and I am only using 2G!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fantastic touch screen response and truly fast software. Great web experience, truly fascinating. Excellent user interface and camera management. Also keypad and predictive text are fabulous! Zune software is a bit annoying and Windows should seriously think on developing profile and apps. Free apps should be more and more. Also Bluetooth connectivity is not compatible with many a device as was in Symbian. These aspects should be looked into.
One last chance !
Apollo OS may have little hope for Nokia,
until then it's only a fugitive trials.
tasdias, 08 Jan 2012No Flash or Silverlight support in browser No USB mass storage (file management and sync pass... moreitz internet explrr9 HTML5, so no need flash plyr & u can download any type of video plyers......, 16gb internal and 25GB skydrive.....pls go thrw a live demo and feel it.......
still waiting for a better Nokia fones,
current Lumias are nowhere .......in comparison to ip4s/gs2/razr xt910/sensation xe etc etc.
NOKIA still badly needed higher edge specifications smart fones to catchup the 21st century markets.
If you don't believe !
Only the Quad cores processor smartfones will rules the markets from 2012 and onwards.
Benben, 08 Jan 2012I just bought my Lumia 800 the past week... There are some serious issues with it..... when i ... moreThe Lumia 800 is totally fine, go have yours checked, as like in all phones there are faulty ones. For those who have Battery issues, download Battery Doctor and optimize it before recharging. I did it and now the battery is simply great. WM 7.5 Mango, will be the future. My wish now is to see a WM7.5 Mango tablet,
Funny... There are two types of comments on this phone.
1. People who have actually used it loves it.
2. People who read about it (specs) hate it.
Why is that you think?
Lumia 800 should possess either "memory card slot" OR "usb on-the-go "support for mass storage.
Fone is empty......non is there.
No Flash or Silverlight support in browser
No USB mass storage (file management and sync pass only through Zune)
No video calls and no front-facing camera either
No memory card slot (and no 64GB version like the N9)
microSIM card slot
No native DivX/XviD support, videos have to be transcoded by Zune
Nokia wake up!!!! is 2012
The big issue is no card slot.16gb at that moment is very low because when i download HD videos 16gb is very low space,2nd drawback in that phone no secondary camera,& finally i noticed that in nokia never got performace in Qualcomm processor. And price is so high according to the features.
I have one of these and it's awesome. The AMOLED DIsplay is amazing, you can't tell the the screen ends and the hardware starts! Windows Mango is great, the software is easy to use, and has features like XBOX Live, Microsoft Office and Local Scout (a feature which allows you to see what shops, restaurants and activities are available around your location). The 8 megapixel camera is decent although it lacks editing features. The video reorder can record 720p HD video which is awesome. The 1.4 GHz processor is used to its full potential, even on 3G it can still download desktop pages quiet fast. It's Gorilla Screen makes it invincible in day to day life, it is extremely tough and is basically impossible to damage. The design is elegant and looks great, the phone is easy to carry around and comes with a case for extra protection. The social capabilities are amazing, you can easily link accounts, access and post easily, as well as setting up needing no hassle. Besides the camera editing features, my two other negatives are that Windows Marketplace doesn't have that many apps thus meaning some of its apps can be a rip off. Also, the sound quality is pretty average.
Overall, I'd tell anyone to buy this phone, however if you're a bit tight you might want to want to wait for its cheaper version, the Lumia 710, it lacks features like the nice aesthetics, the camera, and the Gorilla Screen etc. but it should be about £150 cheaper. But if you can, get the Lumia 800, the features and the phone itself are pure awesome.
alpha007, 07 Jan 2012sound sucksU doesn't hv any idea about smart phones,u should buy a chinese phone..it has a very sound quality..;-)
I just bought my Lumia 800 the past week... There are some serious issues with it..... when i press the end icon it says ending but it takes a while to do so....... this is ridiculous.. any suggestion to how i can remove this defect? Any updates released by microsoft? Please help me!!!!!! Thanksss!!
