Lacks front facing camera, high price tag, no full flash player and other minor things but no matter. I'm so going to buy this phone. Just like a true love, when u found it, u willing to do anything to get it. I'm basically fall in love with windowsphone. But lumia 800 melt my heart the most.
Big LOL at price. Nokia managers gone out of their mind completely. Priced 22000 rubles. 50%! more expensive than Android devices with same hardware. Even Samsung Galaxy W priced at 15000. It should cost 12000-13000 maximum.
I for one definitely want sharp edges, or at least edges less rounded than Samsung's. Something about Samsung's designs turn my stomach, literally. Maybe it's the square wannabe "apple home" button, but they don't do it for me. That, plus their obsession with plasticy looking chrome bevels, buttons that make loud clicking sounds and horrible names. I never got Samsung's success in the cell phone market.
This Lumia 800 is elegant looking, not too big to need special pockets in my pants or shirts, and I can't believe people still think WP7 needs dual core! Just because something exists doesn't mean it's necessary.
And my one-year old HTC Desire (Android) came with NO, ZERO, ZILCH memory, other than 500MB RAM. I had to go out and buy a 4GB card, and it's gotten me by just fine. Load a some fresh tunes and videos every few days and I'm good to go. How come in one year all of sudden 16GB isn't enough?!
wtf.... no video calling camera.. apple promotes their own face time so wont never make a phone without secondary camera but microsoft owns skype and even its predecessor N9 has 2nd camera.. it looks both windows nd nokia reluctantly competing against iphone...
Thanks nokia for making N9 better than Lumia800. Ask Microsoft to upadte the Windows phone for Dual Core Processors otherwise this windows will not work.
why just 8 megapixel and 720p ???? why not full hd !!!!!!
also why not dual core processor ??
Nokia is fighting its way back into the smartphone game. Its first priority is to get as many WP7 Nokia phones out as possible, in the most cost effective manner. Thus, their efforts were probably getting the phone out with features most used by its smartphone customers.
I believe they have a higher end model in their labs, but will wait and see sales of the current wave first.
Raj, 27 Oct 2011Can we use video call from this mobile (skype or other video call option)No Video calling, it doesn't has a secondary camera.
joe, 28 Oct 2011I do not think either Nokia phones will really support Skype as far as video calling features.... moreI have already said this, The N9 was a better Iphone than Apple Iphone. To release this with LESS features than the N9, ie no FF camera is a joke!
I worked with a person who had the Nokia 6630 which was capable of video call but NO ff camera (which the 6680 later did) it had some sort of periscope attachment.
I do know that the Sony Ericsson Vivaz is capable of video call but NO ff camera.
These calls are made the caller can see you but you CAN'T see the caller with the Vivaz & 6630
Raj, 27 Oct 2011Can we use video call from this mobile (skype or other video call option)probably, but due to absence of secondary camera, u have to use alternate bluetooth camera option.
rhythem, 28 Oct 2011Nokia's CEO is somewhat, how do I put it, less intelligent. He was dumb for not taking Android... moreNo, the CEO is not dumb. He sold exclusivity to Microsoft for 1 BILLION dollars! (especially in the moment when Nokia was on its knees - regarding smartphones)
nice phone i would better if it has front facing camera and micro sd card slot, may be it will kill iphone 4s
Nokia will bet down every one in INDIA because Nokia is not challenging any local company .NOKIA is challenging direct APPLE
I wish they'd come up with a Dual sim option too ! Carrying around 2 phones is such a pain ..and literally everyone is doing that now .. especially Corporate Executives.
Daguy, 27 Oct 2011Everyone is crazy nokia is not battling a north american market yet they are after the euro ma... moreNokia's CEO is somewhat, how do I put it, less intelligent. He was dumb for not taking Android and putting it on a Nokia. He said they want something different, so they went for Microsoft OS, but HTC and Samsung have phones on Adndroid and on Microsofts OS. Nobody said you have to choose one between the two. I like their Lumnia series but it still falls short when compared with the likes of HTC Sensation, Galaxy s2 etc. It would be awesome to have it as a second phone though. 3.7" display, would have been awesome if it was a 4.2" or more.
