Nokia Lumia 800 and Lumia 710 launch in India

Nokia Windows Phone Touch UI

Nokia is leaving nothing to chance when it comes to the success of their Lumia duo in India. The Windows Phone running pair is launching today with the biggest-ever campaign in the country, including some pretty exclusive events.

The Nokia Lumia 800 will be available for Rs 29,999 (that’s about $570 or €435;), while the Lumia 710 will go for Rs 18,999 ($360/€275). Those are prices for SIM-free devices.

The two will feature Nokia Drive, the free voice-guided navigation, and Nokia Music with MixRadio, a music streaming service.

Nokia's Amazing Everyday campaign in India make the Lumia 800 in ice stunt look amateurish - the brochure to the left details all the events and promotions planned. Apparently, even Nokia's employee's have been having a lot of fun with the launch of the two Lumias, with different events in the office that started on Monday and continued on until yesterday.

But today, they're all outside the office attending the big events for the public to promote the new phones. Thousands of retail stores across the country will feature live demoes of the phones, but you can also check out our Lumia 800 review.

Nokia has a lot riding on the success of their Windows Phone endeavor and they still have a strong presence in India, which explains their all-out approach to the launch.

Thanks for the tip, Rohit!
