Whatsapp is discontinued on WP7.5 too by the way, forgot to mention that version of the OS.
Also Microsoft stopped to support Skype on WP8.1 which is bad. It was discontinued somewhere in 2017 when I suddenly couldn't sign in anymore, while on Windows 10 mobile I had no issues signing in.
Bought this phone used in 2014, had it for a year and a half than gave it to a relative who used it for three years. Two weeks ago I got the phone back because of faulty microphone. I checked Youtube, bought a spare flex cable with mic for 7€ and fixed the phone my self. It's now in top shape.
Brings back good memories of when I first experienced the L920. Great call quality and signal, lovely screen, somewhat slow but surprisingly good camera (I'm not a sucker for pixel count), convenience of wireless charging (still have the original charger)...
The phone is on latest WP 8.1 software. For a dead OS I was surprised to see that Viber and Whatsapp still work and not just messages but calls as well. Here maps and Here drive are still great and get fresh maps. Just today I got an update for a map. Unfortunately Skype (a native app) doesn't work any more - can't sign in.
Too bad Nokia and MS abandoned WP. It could be a much needed third option.
I'll get back to my Xperia XZ1 compact eventually but in the meanwhile I'll enjoy this phone a lot :)
Whatsapp is still available for download from the Microsoft Store on WP8.1 and Windows 10 mobile.
It has been discontinued on WP7, WP7.8 and WP8.0
mayaya, 25 Nov 2018Why Nokia Lumia 920 can't connect to whatapp just like other phones? If your Lumia 920 is running window 8.1 you can still use WhatsApp unless your phone is running window 8
Though Store is closed for windows 8.1, it is still running for windows 10 mobiles. Lumia phones were great. I am still using a L-920 with out any prob: New Nokia android phones are also great
This was a great phone while in its prime. I still use this phone daily. Today, most apps have been discontinued and pulled from the store. Phone quality and speed are still great today and phone doesnt struggle much
Why Nokia Lumia 920 can't connect to whatapp just like other phones?

Anyway, I have my Lumia 920, and it was the most reliable phone ever. I still use it despite me having so many newer phones. The video looks great, the photos were decent, and most of all. It is LTE, and I can connect up to four of my devices into it without any slowdowns. It also has better cell connectivity than my Pixel, and Note. So yeah. This 7 year old phone is not that bad.
In 2018 it is a good cell phone, only recommended for those who do not need more functionalities than those provided by the native applications, that is; web browsing, gps, camera, outlook, messages, calls, and extends to WhatsApp.
The performance of the cell phone is optimal, but the applications are outdated since Windows Phone 8.1 died.
Nowadays it is a cheap mid-range option.
