Jose, 10 Dec 2012Hello, I am a user of a Galaxy S3, the S3 is a much better phone than Lumia920 in hardware and... moreWell the hardware might be more beefed up (Quad core etc) but you need that for android, they had people with Lumia 800's spanking the S3, look out for smoked by windows phone/lumia also as far as features go the lumia has more going for it than the S3.

AnonD-83178, 10 Dec 2012Sounds risky. I have decided to get a Lumia 920 but i will be keeping my Note 2. Theres a chan... morenot to mention the link u gave, the site is inclined towards android.yeah the wp7 was a failure in terms of business.but the site hasn't taken up wp8 as it actually is.ms nokia have done everything under the hood.e.g. The looks of internet r same as in wp7,but there is a lot difference in performance with full html5 support in wp8,and its competitive also in various browsermark against various androids, save for the optimus g which is often on top.
Also remember that people r appreciating the 920.it has taken up 2.5 million preorders within 20 days, even when its not launched globally.if nokia keep it in stock, which they r unable at present,it may beat s3 sales.

I'll wait a month or two, and I'm going to try to use a phone with WP8 ... And I'll read as much as I can. However, when the Galaxy S4 hits the market, it is certain that I will have new phone again. I like to try all the OS so I can have criteria and comparison. Merry Christmas...

Jose, 10 Dec 2012Hello, I am a user of a Galaxy S3, the S3 is a much better phone than Lumia920 in hardware and... moreSounds risky. I have decided to get a Lumia 920 but i will be keeping my Note 2. Theres a chance you will miss Android too much, WP8 is a young and unpolished platform, for now we dont even know if it has a future. If money is an issue i suggest you wait for the Lumia 620, its gonna be very very cheap and still have a dual core Krait processor. Then you can find out if you like WP8 before you sell your S3 and make the switch to high end WP8.
Some has already jumped the gun and declared WP8 to be a flop,

Hello, I am a user of a Galaxy S3, the S3 is a much better phone than Lumia920 in hardware and OS as well as in some features, but I read very good reviews of W8 and WP8 and specific of the Lumia920 , and I was thinking of buying the Lumia and test the phone and WP8.
I know that is not going to beat my S3 (the best phone ever), but tell me if it is worth selling the S3 and test the WP8. Because I quite like the Lumia920.
Excuse my English. Thanks...
Eagerly waiting for it to reach my country, but i'm kinda disappointed with the battery test results. Its endurance is only good. But i don't want a good result from a flagship, i rather want an extraordinary one, like 30 hrs of web browsing or 40 hrs of video playback. I don't care if it weighs up to 1 kg but i definitely want a huge battery.
Billa, 10 Dec 2012Your comment is very west
1st you lumia 920 use Its true that Android is better optimized for battery saving. Galaxy S3 is rated 50 hours on 2100mAh, Lumia 920 would do only 49 hours if it had 2200mAh, but it has only 2000 and does only 44hrs. Same with other ANdroid flagships you wanna compare with, for example HTC DROID DNA does 49 hours i think, and battery is only 2020mAh. Thats a quadcore with a 1080p display, yet it uses less battery than 920. It did 6h40m of webbrowsing, Lumia 920 did only 5h40m, the HTC did almost 18% more on only 1% bigger battery.
Hopefully WP8 will be updated soon to improve the battery times. WP7 was very terrible at first, Lumia 800 would not last a day, but they patched it up so it improved over time. Lets hope for fast improvements.
AnonD-18125, 10 Dec 2012Battery drops down quicker than most androids. Yes, sad to say WP8 phones got the worst batter... moreYour comment is very west

srbh, 10 Dec 2012does nokia support pdf reader and if yes is it working ?becoz what i saw in youtube it was not... moreWorks like a charm.
GURU, 10 Dec 2012it does not have radio :( what a phone without radioThe solution is this;
http://direkt.jacob-computer.de/index.php?suchbegriff=nokia+bh-221&abschicken.x=0&abschicken.y=0&option=1&action=4&user=1
Perfect cause you dont have to drain the battery of the phone and it has NFC/bluetooth. Use your own headphones in the 3,5mm jacket if you want to.
Great :-)
camera is very good, but without flash player..???
I think it is very bad
nokia lumia 920 in india just 4 rs.25k check the link ... mobiles.sulekha.com/nokia_lumia-920_compare_prices.htm
best phone ever beter than any iphone or samsung
I've read most of the reviews across the tech watchers too. Their biggest comment really is that it's not so much mid-range but that its colour profile is more accurate to the human eye. Most of the popular ones like S3, iPhone 5 and etc saturate their photos because they know that appeals more to people. On the flip side, this would appeal more to professional-level capturers than to the average consumer like you and me.
Personally, I prefer the color profile of the Lumia 920, which you can really work with better if you like to post-process your shots/clips.
it does not have radio :( what a phone without radio
AnonD-65243, 10 Dec 2012Yes Nokia lumia 920 works perfectly with low light image capture or darkness :;)Not perfectly, all the reviews seem to agree that low light photos is a hit and miss, sometimes the results were not impressive, BUT ALWAYS BETTER THAN THE COMPETITION.
So, its the best in low light. But thats not what i was worried about, the problem is the performance of 920 in daylight and normal lightning, all reviews agree that the 920 is in the middle here, below iphone 5, SGS3 and Note2, barely beating old 5mpx phones like Galaxy S2. Is there any rumors of a software update to fix this? Anyone reading Nokia forums or whatever, is there still hope for a software fix?
[deleted post]But he is right, a rooted android can install real linux, much like on the N900, and N900 was not a phone trying to be a pocket computer, but a pocket computer trying to be a phone.
I used to run Debian compiled for ARM on my N900, it was good but with 600MHz Cortex A8 and 256MB RAM the performance was a bit limited. With the quadcore and 2GB RAM of the Note 2 that would not be a problem at all. No need to mention any other high end android phones, running Debian on N900 was only practical when using a stylus, and Note 2 is the only high end phone with something similar to Stylus. Text input may be a problem though, as Note 2 does not have the advantage of a physical qwerty keyboard like N900 had.
Another thing is that N900 with its Maemo5 was already like a full Linux desktop OS, just touch optimized and with a Nokia-flavored Debian. (Maemo was based on Debian). Android is not that kind of full fledged Linux even when rooted, and thats why N900 to this day remains the best smartphone ever made - the unlimited and unrestricted full Linux OS.
