Nokia Saudi Arabia.. First lot is sold out. Pre-orders are up for second lot.
[deleted post]you have got to be one of the most stupid people i have come across here. i mean what is your obsession with quad cores? are you mad? do you even need it? nobody needs it in windows phone you know why? because its a very efficient os and is not like android which requires a lot of processing to get fast. use 920 in a shop and you will know why it doesnt need quad cores. its the most responsive phone i have ever had my hands on. i owned S3, have used Note2 and iphone but none of them come close to the snapiness of lumia 920. its super duper quick and load everything in a few mili seconds. i have never been a fan of windows but even i have to admit what they have acheived with this is just brilliant. and 32gb storage is more than enough for 90% of the users. please stop trolling, your comments are just absurd.
Carol, 15 Nov 2012Hey Vic, sorry to tell you but your kind of verry wrong. I understand you don't like wp, i don... moreI'd still stand by what I said in the very first paragraph. Every phone that has a 4.5” or higher screen should have a quad core. As in now. Right in the heat of smartphone wars were every one wants to be called the top smartphone of all.
Even Nexus 4, with a 4.7" screen, and adjudged as the god of all Androids, has a quad core now.
Not anymore a question of battery drains faster, still laggy even if it has 4 cores or dual core is enough crap. You wanna be called flagship and be the best, put on a quad core. I assure you, it will sell. Examples are S3 and Nexus 4.
Look at how gsmarena rated the HTC One X+. It's the complete package. Hey, it's got quad cores. And it will sell.
What I've been jawing about is that Nokia wanted to top every one with a dual core just about now when every top dog has quad cores. Never gonna happen. Nokia blew this one.
Unless they put out something now that has 4 cores or more. Goodbye, Nokia.
For the record, I still bought your 808 Pureview 6 days ago. Out of loyalty to Symbian. That's the price you pay for abandoning the best mobile OS, you go down now.
I am planning to buy this phone should I???
have got mixed review on net and can u transfer videos from comp to 920???
Anonymous, 15 Nov 2012quadcore nottttttt needed. this runs smoother my b--Haha u cant watch a fulhd movie and browse web at the same time bcoz its nt quad core. Go to shop n buy S3. 500Mhz single core procesor can run phone super smoothly. Thats why people need Quad Cores.
Carol, 15 Nov 2012Hey Vic, sorry to tell you but your kind of verry wrong. I understand you don't like wp, i don... moreHey you, yes you. Phones need quad cores n0t only for super sm0oth. Super sm0oth is lame cause here. Do u knw what is pop up play? Or do u knw that S3 can run cropd fulhd vids in the gallery? You simply cant imagine these things without multi cores. Multi cores r must. And only android can give u the customization in every way! Everybody likes freedom. Symbian ios wp are left behind android just bcoz they doesnt offer pop up play. lol.
Well... Nokia may be good or bad bur even a Samsung or Apple fan admits that Nokia do not copy others. They have their own things either good or bad.
BUTTT....just today a friend unboxed his L920 and I was soooo much disappointed that apart from handset, every single thing is a ditto copy of Apple. Same style of Sim tray Pin... same design of paking box. Same white charger. Same way of paking and placing cable, charger and headset. Same place holder for handset... even the same thin plastic cover around handset. Everything is just Ditto copy. I feel like soooooo sad :-(
[deleted post]Hey Vic, sorry to tell you but your kind of verry wrong. I understand you don't like wp, i don't love it either. But to say this... is quite unprofesional and a bit du*b. It can have 10 inch and still doesn't need a quadcore... Hell, it can be a big as* tv and still doesn't need that if the system core is well done. High end phones don't need any quad's or secta's or octa's. S3 is like this cause they claim is the best from android. So to be the 'best' in front of all they had to take peoples eyes with a quad so to appear that would run super smooth. At the end, it fails, is fast yes, of corse! But still laggy. Simple cause android has a bad core. This samsung guys started to take peoples eyes with multicores and every unexperienced user thinks it is better cause has quad bla bla bla. 53 has an american brother which is a dualcore with 2gb ram, and people say is faster then the quad. Imagine what will do symbian with this simple specs. A dual with 2gb. 2gb is highly uneeded in symbian but just to take peoples eyes. Wilk just destroy from ios to android to wp, would just put them to shame. So, not everything is about multicores and big screens etc.
Gondar, 15 Nov 2012 Currently, rich applications Android OS is much prefer by the masses. better, if Nokia ... moreWindows UI is too awesome and Android plus IOS have no chance in topping that...I'm saying this through experience with the Lumia 920,Samsung Galaxy S3 and I phone 4s..
Anonymous, 15 Nov 2012Do you know how much one developer has to pay to Microsoft for developer license in order to s... moreBefore i start, i have a question. What is your problem? Are you a broke developer or something? Who cares about your mumbo-jumbo? The phone is superior, and that is what matters for the costumer. Who cares about your 'most dumb conspiracy ever heard' when there are more then 100.000 apps for windows 7 in microsoft store? And windows 8 is comming quick behind. You are outerspace man. Imstead of talking nonsense you could shot up or pay attention to the phones that you like. Is not like you are forced to buy this phone by the big mafia manufactors:).
quadcore nottttttt needed. this runs smoother my b--
[deleted post]probably u have hit ur head wid a brick, iphone 5 still relies on dual core, and is much smoother on A6 than s3.its only android that needs cores.had ios been as free and open as android, there wud have been no sign of android,it was only option for oems till now.now andy will b replaced by the excellent wp,and its a lot smoother than the andy even on 1 core.820 having same gpu, cpu,go for it.it was wp strategy to provide least fragmentation,u r a fool to not 2 understand it.920 isnt a flagship, wtf?
Whole techworld accepts it as a 'hero' wp device.not to mention its excellent innovations.
I took a chance and got it. . Guys its bloody great
Shrunk, 15 Nov 2012 Don't worry, Nokia will soon start manufacturing vehicles Tyres again.ohh, then mobile indurstry will vanish.just like every1 followed symbian and made ios android etc. Now every1 of them will manufacture tyres.apple ityres, samsung copied ityres, htc copy lumia coloured tyres, blackberry full qwerty tyres.
What a fantastic idea u have bro!
maybe is better to wait for the new meego phone that will be annaunced nex week by former nokia engineers, that made also nokia n9; new company jolla, meego sailfish, meego is the best, not widow os, no android os, if the new phone will be like n9; i will switch from nokia to jolla meego phones, decide for yourself
it vare nice
People may question why Windows OS and Windows Phone drains so fast the batteries.
We know why: due to the 10 years partnership Microsoft - Intel in the development of desktop computers; Intel had to sell processors, with more and more cores, consuming a lot electricity and Microsoft had to sell new licenses, new versions of Windows which nobody needed. So the software had few optimizations and wasted processor power to make people buy new Intel multicore processors and also invalidate older hardware to slow when run Aero and lots of services hard to find a reason why were enabled by default.
The Apple introduces mobile trend and Microsoft feels let in back. Desperately try to adaptate a desktop OS supposed to run at outlet power to mobile devices; unfortunately for them 10 years of cooperation with Intel has a heavy toll. Even if the Microsoft programmers work day and night can't clean the code from the rubbish which was meant to give a reason to buy newest Intel multicore processors.
