You can turn off backgroud apps on your phone configuration. Try this one.

What I did to resolve this problem, is connect the device to the charger and insert the sim. Then wait for some seconds and try to restart the phone again. For me the problem was resolved cause the device booted up without any problems. Hope it will help you as well.

Help me out guys, I have planned to switching to Xperia ZR but after finding out that the Xperia Z series have an issue with self cracking screen, I decided to stay my Lumia 920. I'm going to finally update my device for the first time with their updates - GDR2 (Amber) and GDR3 (Black). There are times my phone just heats up for no reason, my question is, did they somehow solved the heating issue with this device? I never updated my device yet to any updates they have released so help me out. Thanks.

remixx, 17 Feb 2014pls im kind of losing contact on my lumia 920..People call me and it comes unknown and sometim... moreI had this problem too if you have a gmail account sync all your contacts from phone to gmail account and login to your gmail account via pc and make sure all the contacts are there and delete all your phone contacts and restart the phone and sync back again from your gmail job done this method helped me i hope it will help you too let me know the outcome

This phone is good. It has good hardware. It does not lag a lot like my htc one android phone. It could be a great phone if not because of the lack of apps availability for windows phone. Aesthetically its a beautiful phone. If more functionality you are looking for, android is the better choice. I love my lumia 920, but the apps is disappointing.

amrco, 16 Feb 2014which is better nokia lumia 920 or sony xperia zrCurrently using Lumia 920 and I haven't even updated to any of the updates they have released because I find their updates so lame, I suggest go for Xperia ZR, better OS, better updates, google store much better than windows phone store. Waiting for the WP 8.1 to come out and if it's lame as their updates, I might also get the Xperia ZR. The only advantage over I see of the Lumia 920 from the Xperia ZR, the camera, that's it.

1.Go to Settings/Mobile network/Data connections to off mode when you are not using Internet.
2.Go to Settings/Location /Location service to off mode.
3.Turn off Blue tooth,Wifi when no using.
4.Go to Settings/Batterysaver/make it on and st always conserve battery mode in advace setting at the bottom of this lage.
By dong this adjustment my nokia 920 battery discharge rate reduce from 10% /hour to 1% /10 hour(without 3g net using).

I am using this phone for last 08 months i have used Galaxy S2, iphone 4s, Galaxy S3, HTC One X + and Blackberry Z10 but this phone is something different i am really impressed and I like the OS as well. But this OS need to improve on certain things like
1. Drop down menu for easy access for WiFi, Bluetooth, Silent mode and Data enable/disable
2. Setting an homepage on IE
3. Keyboard
4. Applications
5. Separate volume settings for Ringtones, Music and Video
apart from the things i have mentioned above this phone is fine excellent camera no lags what so ever IE super fast battery also good. And i hope 8.1 update will fix the problems i have mentioned

I am currently using this phone. It runs smoothly and the camera quality is good. The weight makes no difference for me since i'm using a leather case.
The only thing I find it weird is that the pictures look more yellowish and saturated on the phone, but the color tone seems colder when transferred to the computer. Overall it's a nice phone.
