Aadrian, 30 Aug 2013For me it's great in every aspect, screen is awesome, very clear, camera is awesome, OIS does ... moreok tanx, maybe in the near future MS will update its app library and some useful apps in its update like a file manager.. but as i say to everyone, nokia is and always will be the best...
AnonD-162568, 31 Aug 2013I'm using WP 8 since first build, but will leave to Android soon. More than 10 Months without ... moreYes Milan you are correct - I loved my Galaxy note 2....had iphone too but reckon it was too intrusive...the windows 8 Lumia has many wonderful features ...but still waiting for Westpac, Cenrtrelink and several other apps ...but it will happen because Win 8 is already microsoft and on computers......it will happen - yes I hate the auto screen adjustment....
abhi, 31 Aug 2013How Can I Install amber in my nokia 920 Go to Setting, Phone update, check for update. You will need wifi to update it. Alternative, connect your PC (should use Windows 7 or 8), previously you should install Windows App to Desktop.
I really tried to love Windows Phone 8. And it won't be so hard, if only MS did few further steps. I like the interface, and of the three platforms I had (iOS on iPhone 4, Android on Galaxy S3 and WP8 on 920), WP8 was IMHO the most straightforward to use. But for some reason MS has incorporated some elements into WP8, which force you to hate them. I don't get that. They put a lot of effort into developing that system and it would work well, if they just wanted. I can think of only two reasons they do not do that - either they are bunch of incompetent llamas, or they want to bring Nokia's stock down and buy it.
Yesterday I have lost my patience and went back to Android, although I know that the UI on extremely powerful Galaxy S4 lags - but at least I can do everything I need and which I was not able to do on WP8. Now I can connect to VPN (it's just absolutely unbelievable that it was not possible on WP8!), now I can lock screen orientation, now I can browse files in my phone and do whatever I want with them, now I can play all the media streams I need, now I can set the volume independently and, last but not least - as a bonus - I can enjoy many apps, which do not exist for WP8 (I know that this is not exactly Microsoft's fault, but it adds to one's frustration not to be able to use some basic apps). All these things drew me crazy and because there is no single sign that it would be better in some foreseeable future, I just lost my patience.
I am writing this as a testimonial for MS developers - it's not "or it will be late" - it already is almost late. Many people buy your phones and as hard as they try to like them, they end up hating you, cursing you (like everytime they lie in their bed and try to read something without moving the damned phone to stop it rotating the screen, for example) and finally they abandon your platform, like I just did.
People will not wait forever until "sometime", especially when it is not certain that any of the most wanted (no - needed!) features will make it into WP8.1 Blue. They just leave and they won't be coming back.
So .. think about it. Unless the thing with buying Nokia is true, of course..
abhi, 31 Aug 2013How Can I Install amber in my nokia 920 abhi hw is your experience with the lumia 920
AnonD-124670, 30 Aug 2013this or Galaxy S3 ??I'm using WP 8 since first build, but will leave to Android soon. More than 10 Months without VPN, notification center, volume profiles, dif. volume for call and the rest, multiple email attachments even rotation lock!!!!!
I used to be WP enthusiast, but everything has limits. This is over.
Microsoft is laughing to us, users.
I don't care about Instagram and stupid apps like that. Store has 170K+ apps and there are up to 20 that are really useful. The rest is piece of **** anyway.
Workaholic, 28 Aug 2013Hello everyone. My nokia lumia 920 can't detect my house's wi-fi. My house has a WI-FI, but ... morecheck your router setting ... make sure its wep or wpa2 personal and there are diffrent types of routers b/g/n and we also have "router" so check your router reset it . still not working get ur frnds router and check
AnonD-124670, 30 Aug 2013this or Galaxy S3 ??For high end smartphone you would be better go for Galaxy S III, cause:
1. You will have basic functions
2. You will have file manager. Easy to manage files, copy paste, move, delete without need accessing PC
3. You can read documents from SD card
4. You can attach files like .zip, .rar or other formats in email and have capable of multiple attach file in one sending email
5. You can play good games like Shadowgun, Shadowgun Deadzone, Dungeon Hunter 4, Ravensword: Shadowland, Blitz Brigade: Online FPS Fun, Final Fantasy III, Final Fantasy IV, Prince of Persia and many games aren't available in WIndows Phone
This has to be the best phone.
there were some battery problems but after the update my phone works easily for 20-23 hours on full usage i.e wifi on all the time, music on all the time
plus this phone is super fast and there are enough apps. 200k apps are enough in my opinion
SYC, 29 Aug 2013tanx for the info! wat abt givin me an overview of the whole phone itself...For me it's great in every aspect, screen is awesome, very clear, camera is awesome, OIS does it's job very well. WP8 is smooth and nice, of course it's nowhere near the number of apps from IOS or Android, but the important apps can be found there. Wireless chargins, as I already mentioned, is so cool. It's a gimmick maybe, but for me it is very usefull. No need to connect the phone everytime to charge it.
