I gave mine a negative review until I used interop tools and set the ram to 1024. The load times are close to Android now and even the camera works better. The phone works like it should have in the first place. You need to be on build 15063.850 to see the effects of the updates but the phone is lightning fast. Install the interop tool asap because otherwise this phone is very frustrating.

Can this be replaced by a smart technician or is the phone dead... moreThe back cover can removed in order to reach the battery and replace it, but it can be tricky. You will have to remove some extra parts to get to the battery. There are several videos on youtube that show how to do this with the right tools.

I forgot to add, dont ever charge this phone with the wireless charger. It will cut the battery life in half even with the cool orange glowing wireless charger. I dont know if its just this phone that it happens to but from one day to the next you will have a phone that discharges at a incredible rate. The 1709 update is only for later models like the 950 and if you install interop tools it will mess your phone up if you make serious changes. This phone is really nothing but problems for people that really need it for work.

This phone has too many problems even with the latest updates. I have the 830 and 930 and the 930 is so problematic I went back to the 830. Plus the pictures are better with the 830. There is so much wrong with the 930 from battery drains to camera problems its ridiculous. When shooting video I can drain a fully charged battery in fifteen minutes time when on the highest setting. The display is stunning to say the least but that's about all. The heat from the battery when shooting video is outrageous. This phone was defective from the beginning and I guarantee anyone that owns this phone will have the same problems. I did the insider program as well as resets and it never resolved most of the major problems.

John, 30 Dec 2017do you mean app updates as this phone only supports up to windows 10 anniversary updateI think bug fixes and security fixes, my 930 has 1706 as latest version. App updates are also still coming but Microsoft said they still give updates for at least security issues.

Latest Production Windows 10 version 1709 is highly recommended.
This is the same version (identically) of the Lumia 950/xl.
And by the way I compared Lumia 930 to both 950 and XL , and I can confirm 930 is faster than 950 (due to the QHD Display) , and on par with the XL.
The point is Lumia 930 runs Win 10 like the high ends 950/xl in terms of reliability.
