Nokia Rumors

Nokia has always been among the leaders when it comes to cameraphones and the company might aim to extend its advantage by releasing a smartphone with a 16-element lens camera by Pelican Imaging.

Nokia had strengthened its investments in Pelican Imaging and now, the imaging establishment claims that the company is in talks with at least one manufacturer to bring their latest module in a smartphone by 2014.

The Pelican camera, which features 16 lenses, snaps images when the shutter is pressed and captures depth information at every pixel. The technology allows the photographer to alter the focus point of the image even after the shot is captured. Furthermore, you can change the image backgrounds, scale any part of the image, and combine elements from multiple images into a new picture.

Thanks hkskanwar, for sending this in!
