Great phone and the video calling works very well with a beautiful 2megpixl screen. I will be getting once in april 2005.
At first I asked my aunt to help me buy the sony ericsson w900i in Hong Kong, but she told me about the Nokia N70. How do the 2 phones compare. Dies Nokia N70 work in the U.S. because i dont think we are getting this phone.
does anyone know which is the latest firmware for n70. please it's really important. which version and date. anyone ?????
come on guys!!! so many people have it. just type *#0000# and tell me everything you see!!! please !
This is my 7th phone & the 3rd Symbian series phone after nokia 6600 & 7610.
I can say its the best phone I have used it till date.
The phone looks sturdy, It has fallen once, but works fine, thank God. However I feel that the slide which protects the camera is a bit wobbly. I would have preferred a more tightly attached one. As it makes the phone look weak in body. Also as its a lil loose, so while using the phone it makes me uncomfortable.
Also the keypad is very small, and typing long sms is difficult. And the last glitch in my handset is there is no option to sort contacts by first name. I had it in my old 6600 & 7610. Mine is the latest firmware still its not there. and my friend who has a old firmware has this options. strange. But then i edited my phone book & interchanged the first & last names....he he he....so its ok :p
However I am not too bothered about the minor problems it has, coz the + points are much more.
The sound quality is excellent, network strength is great. I love the 2 Megapixel cam. Also the video quality is very good. The quality of macro range is not too good, but apart from it, I am extremely happy with the photos.
I have installed resco pic viewer to get that old feel of folder system gallery.
The phone looks so nice and rich, that I get jealous glances from everyone. My friends n cousins loved it so much, that they will also be getting it.
I have put a 512 MB card to fill in those MP3s. Also i love the radio, which was missin in previous symbian phones I had.
The screen quality is great, however one does not notice the difference between 256K and 65K of old phones, but when u take vids or see movies, u will know the difference. Also the sensor is a great addition, during daytime, the keypad lights go off & screen brightness gets adjusted according to light level.....and at night times, th ekeypad illuminates. Brilliant.
I want to install smartmovie player & a mp3 player with equaliser, can anyone provide me links to download a full woking version to it?
does this fone have internet explorer.i think it does.anyone with this fone tell me if it is.please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and please send ur opinion
Ive read some of these peoples comments and im vexed at the fact that people spend loads of cash on a smartphone and they dont read the damn manual! what is that all about? one geezar earlier wrote in saying that you have to copy numbers individually if you want to transfer them from sim to phone or vise versa. What is he on about? That is what the marking function is for! Mark all the files then copy them. Simple if he read the manual. word of advice before you come online cursing the phone, read the manual. phones these days are to complicated to switch on and use, especially if you are not phone illiterate. if you want an easy switch on and use phone, then a smartphone is the wrong phone to buy.
peopl take my word none better than this
i have used abt 20 phones but none compared to this awsum machine
good work NOKIA
its better than the N90 a lot betta so hey instead of wastin ur money on an N90 buy the N70.
well - I like the N70. It can be switched on and used without a simcard (offline) & transfer all your nos, pictures, sounds an all from the old phone within 1 min.
I find the keypad easy to use and so far the photos I took are all usable once I transfered them to my pc.
I've experienced none of the problems mentioned below - but - then again I read the manual.
So far I'm quite happy with my 2nd choice of the N70 (I of course really wanted the N92).
All I need now is for all my friend to buy a video phone so that I can actually make a video phone call. Hmmmmm ;-)
The N70 top Phone. Upgrade software and got rid of my networks badging. The phone has pick up speed scince the upgrade. I did the same with my Nokia 6230i and has improved the software speed as well. I suppose I am lucky I unlock mobile phones and do software issues for a living. Also the Symbian Reset or Format the phone by pressing *#7370# on the phone and security code. This will clean most bugs on a Symbian Mobile but be warned that this will delete everything including contacts.
I just bought the N70 and will let you all know my thoughts after a few days. If you have any advice with it, let me know please
I got my N70 two days before. I am happy about how its look and feel. The screen is not as bad as mentioned in some reviews.
The problems so far i have seen are:
Phone is very slow. Sometimes it is very annoying
The keypad is small and cant message for long.
Dictionary Cant be switched off on the fly as you type a message (It has to be turned on from the main menu)
Speaker quality is not good. Lot of noise especially in loudspeaker mode. My 6610 earlier was lovely.
To see missed calls you have to go to Menu->Myown->logs which is a pain. Have to see if i can create shortuts. I have not read much of the manual yet. But the thing is i never had to read manuals for my earlier phones.
But still I like N70.
I have an n70.the problem i have is no matter what ringtone i set for incomming calls the phone rings only with the"nokia tune". it is driving me crazy.
Can anyone help?
Does anyone know which is the latest firmware for N70. Please it's really important. Which version and date. Anyone ?????
This N70 phone runs the worst piece of software that I have seen in long time.
But let's be factual, and not emotional; here are the facts:
1 - I got the phone delivered to me by Orange Switzerland, I arrived home and ... it didn't ring... To get the rings activated you have to go to a Nokia site, do some searching around and you will find that a patch is required for getting the phone to ring. Great feature for a mobile phone.
2 - tried to transfer the contacts from the SIM card to the internal memory. You can only do this in one operation when you install the SIM card the very first time, if you cancel this option at that time, after that you can only copy one entry at a time
3 - You can reassign the function of the quick button on the top right of the keyboard(which come configured as "tutorial" to some other function, but again, this works only once, after that there is no way to reassign that button to any other function
4 - booting my phone (from power off) takes more than 30 seconds !
5 - the activation of most commands is slow, so slow that you tend to hit the keyboard twice and go #$^%@$#
6 - the configuration menu is illogical and confused
7 - Several other bugs in displaying movies
Finally the keyboard is far too small (this is obviously not a software problem)
A recommendation: do not buy this phone until they come up with a much improved version of the Symbian crap they are running now.
For me, I went back to my previous Samsung D500.
I just read up till page 6..
so dont worry if i donŽt know about things posted before.
Everybody cries ahh my n70,
dont found that or this...
@ at them: try to read the manual, it realy helps..
and if u arent happy with onboard features, install 3d party software, helps often too
but tell me about the freezes, this is really getting me down(??lol)couse iam conciderng(dont know how to write^^)to buy it.
slowly opening of gallery or images... lol
try opening a folder with 6230 and high res images.youŽd better go sleep! next mornig it should be opend^^
