Ok can you describe how the flickering looks like ? Is it like you enter gallery it flickers every few seconds, or when you enter a program it flickers once ? It is somehow related to the operator i think, no one from where i live experiences this problem.
Even i got myself N72 and now i check out the reviews, i saw people complainin about FLICKERING.. It is True people, I Got my cell on 4-March and i found this problem. Check out the mail, i sent to NOKIA yesterday, still waitin for reply
This refers to the complaint regarding N72 model purchased from your dealer . We have noticed some serious flaw in this model and approached the the dealer the very next day. He asked us to go to the Nokia Care centre located in Jayanagar and after I approached there, the technician mentioned that it was serious defect and asked us to go the dealer and ask for the replacement of the model as it was just within 48hours. The dealer immediately replaced with the new one and it was checked infront of him and we discovered the same problem i.e. Flickering Display( whenever we change the screen or go to gallery and exit or type a message the screen flickers momentarily ). It was found immediately and reported to the dealer. Dealer suggested me to approach the main care point located at Kormangala diagonally apposite to “THE FORUM” mall. After waiting for long time in the queue we spoke with one of your representative and she admitted that it was serious flaw and she insisted me to give the mobile phone for service and she said it would take 2-3 days (or even more). I didn’t agree to give it for service as it was not even 24 hours since we got the NEW REPLACEMENT handset. She made me talk to the Nokia Customer call centre (30303838) to address this problem as she was not able to give any satisfying reply.
I spoke to the First Level Agent there and she was unable understand the problem yet alone give solution. Then I strongly insisted to escalate to the matter to the supervisor. I spoke to the supervisor and he also was not much of a help. The bottom line they said was to give the mobile for service, which doesn’t make any sense because it was new. The supervisor (Mr.Pradeep) then gave me the case/reference number (No: 2-1WENLZ) And we were also introduced to the TEAM LEAD, at the CARE CENTRE to address this issue. Rashmi showed me other two handset of the same model and of the same firmware and software, which my handset had and it was working PERFECTLY fine, and we dint find this problem at all. Rashmi said the same thing as to leave the mobile for service and she also mentioned that they cannot give replacement and they will send the handset to the DELHI and it would take 15 days of R&D, as the problem was very serious and the problem couldn’t be set right at their centre. No assurances was given by them. All this happened on 5-March-2007
As we weren’t not satisfied with these insipid solutions given by NOKIA we went back to the DEALER where I had purchased the handset. He was very cooperative and polite and he showed all the stocks he had of N72 wherein this defect was INBUILT in all the sets he had. I also happen to meet the distributor’s representative M.T. PRASAD(9880017808) from United Marketing who came there and accepted that there is a manufacturing defects in ALL the new N72 models, which is being marketed in Bangalore in all the outlets(possibly). I also cross checked it in other NOKIA outlets and we found the same problem in every handset.
I was AGHAST to see this kind of serious flaw in such an expensive set and we are totally disappointed the way you are handling your customers.
I want this issue to be addressed immediately via email, telephone and also in person. I also want some responsible person from your side who can meet us in person.
If this issue is not addressed with utmost importance and priority, I will definitely go ahead and take very serious action. Also I will make sure that we enlighten all your customers who has recently bought n72. Thre are other people who are facing the same problem , which you can see in this link: http://www.gsmarena.com/nokia_n72-reviews-1552p3.php (user named: jj). It wouldn’t take us long to get in touch with them and take necessary action if our issue is not addressed.
Expecting your positive response ASAP.
Work on that english man. I personally don't experience any software problems, the phone is working perfectly. I personally think that ALL phones have software problems, just not everyone experiences them.

To the no named dude:
Between 6233 and n72. if battery is important, i believe 6233 is a better choice. Music sounds better on headphones with n72, on speakers - with 6233, because it has stereo speakers. Overall if you need good battery, you should go for 6233, or even think about the E-series. I personally suggest Nokia e50.
There are headphones in the box, but their quality is crappy, way below SE walkman. But it is possible to buy better ones
Well camera and sound is SE's strongest points. I suggest SE w810, since it has good camera and good music quality. n72 is also a good choice but it's camera and sound quality is worse than w810
hi, is there any headphone for N72 like walkman series of sony which has better qulality.plz tell me
Can SOMEONE Please REPLY:
Can I use a 2GB card with N72 hasselfree or does it pose a problem. I guess 1GB card works fine but am not sure abt 2GB. Wud be greatful for any replies
The phone's camera is average, if you need a good camera, go for SE k800, or n73. On good light conditions, the photo quality of the phone is ok.
To anyone who ever asks about, if the phone is good:
READ through the COMMENTS !!
i love nokia n72 i mean it has every thing i need i love it the battery is also relly good i love it ............
its really a cool one .but i feel the camera clarity is not that gooooood .can anyone throw some more light on camera feature......
Ooooh, i think i understand the "flickering" problem, everyone is talking about. When you open a program, the screen flickers white, am i right ? If yes, then this is completely normal, i believe the phone changes screen mode or something like that. I think it happens on all phones, just on others, the ficker continues for a couple of seconds, and then the program opens, and here it happens fast. Or something. Errm what i'm trying to say, this is normal, it will only happen when opening a game or program.
ive had this phone for about a year now, and i must say its been the most reliable phone ive ever had. The battery is great and i love the feautures. The size throws me off, but overall, all my friends pick my phone over thiers
I am great fan of Nokia phone used Most of them I found N72 is one of the best phones of Nokia with good looking dimensions, weight high gloss colour 2mpx camera with photo editing
The only thing upset in this Mobile is that it is not compatiable of 3g as iam vast 3g mobile user
after all Nokia is best ever thn rest will u guys agree if someone looking for sexiest mobile go for N72 black for 3g n all go for N70 and N92 N93i
The Navi keys never gets stuck to me, they're way more comfortable than k750's joystick... And for the earphones, they're perfect to me, way more comfortable than iPod's earphones, those make my ears hurt. Maybe your ears are bigger than standart ? You should buy other earphones then. Err by the way, Motorola A1200 ? Every human on earth probably knows, that all motorola phones are crap...
To one more no named dude -.- :
Unfortunately you can set an alarm for only 1 day, like in all Nokias. But there is a program, i believe it's called "Alarm Manager", which greatly extends the possibilities of the standart alarm clock, so you should try it...
This phone has no 3G. If you need 3g, and you like this phone, you should consider n70 or n70me.
To Mangesh Salvi:
The phone can't auto-lock the keyboard, but that is not a problem, there are dozens of programs that can make this possible on a Symbian phone, so thats not a problem.
If you don't have any reading problems, you should try reading some comments, of the 45 pages of information here.
Well all Symbian phones has some problems, but i personally don't have any software problems with my set. But if you need a reliable phone, that will never hang, never lag and stuff, you shouldn't buy a Symbian yet, they're not completely reliable. At least my n72 works perfectly fine.
While in camera mode, press and hold the up key, it will start zooming. It can zoom digitally up to 20 times, but it looks like it was zoomed 3-5 times only.
That's all for today
How to Zoom in camera lense while taking a picture??? Is the zoom feature available?
