I FINALLY got this phone!
It just came out in Australia, and all i can say so far is WOW!
Its AWSOME! Seems great after 2 days of use. No probs at all yet!
Just wondering if anyone knows a website where you can get games, apps etc.. for this phone? Preferably free but i will pay if needed.
Also i have added a 2GB SD card. Phone works fine no probs!
I would be extremely thankful if someone could tell me how I can do the following things on my N73,
i. Insert emoticons/smileys in text messages?
ii. Silence the vibrator when an incoming call starts ringing
iii. Customize the ringtone / alert tone for text messages?
Any help would be highly appreciated. Thanks.
For those who criticize N73 for bugs or whatsoever. do you know what your problem is? you bought it very early. normally, nokia phones stabilizes over 3-6 months onwards. why in a hurry? if you phones right, don't switch to N73 YET! wait for 3-6 months as i have said.
After weeks of waiting, the N73 is finally available in Australia. Ofcourse, its still exclusive to 3 (which means that the phone is locked to the sim) but optus should have one out in the next couple of days. And it comes with a 128MB SD card as well!
A couple of quick queries to actual users:
1. Is the joystick really as bad as it seems from some of the reviews posted?
2. 128MB is without doubt, grossly insufficient to make full use of all applications of this phone. I mean, with that, you cant store more than 25 songs, forget pictures and videos. Does using a 1GB card or higher affect the phone's performance? Does using a 1GB card affect the manufacturers warranty?
I dunno how many of you have read the GSMarena review of this phone in detail, but if you did, you wouldve have noticed several shortcomings in the phone. For starters, you cant play FM on this phone without connecting the earplugs. That is cuz the earplugs cable acts as a receiver. That obviously means that you cannot listen to FM using high quality head phones such as BOSE or SENNHEISER. Whats more, you may not be able to listed to FM using a bluetooth headset either. Pity. Another negative seems to be the camera cover which GSMarena claims to be coming loose after a few days of use. Disappointing to hear such things, which only dampen my spirit to get this phone.
I agreed with you wholeheartedly..
You know why, pizz off with the phone..
Sold my n73, now using K800i, so far so good..
Nite time, n73 took pictures, quality horrible..
Keypad too small.. small children fingers ok..
why nokia? why? why no vga video? why no vga video? why no vga video? so stupid mistake!! or maybe nokia managers said:no vga video for n73.we must sell the useless brick n93 for this function.no?? am i right nokia??
the main problems that occur when you buy this phone :
1.it takes too long when you enter sth.
2.the camera often blocks.
3.the joystick falls very quick and you have the be carefull to watch were it falls because you can`t get it back.
4.the keyboard is too little.
5.somethimes the phone doesn`t read the card and you have to restart the phone.
6.you have to set the equaliser so that the sound from the mp3 is better.
7.i don`t know why they`ve put a 262k display on this phone because the screen it`s too big and the themes look bad as like they`ve streched, they`ve could put a 16m display.
8.the phone doesn`t come with a memory card..a bad idea..they`ve tried to make it cheaper and they`ve made it worser.
9.the phone has problems with some apps..it closes by itself when he want`s.
10.somethimes the phone doesn`t connect to the network and it appers connection error and you have to restart it.
Well,a nice phone,very slick,too cheap,bad keyboard,no memory card,good sound,bad sistem,good camera,good batery,bad display.
This is my point of view about this phone and i kinda regret it that i bought it because you`ll start to love it and when you care more for him it let's you down....
the bad part is that the joystick falls in 2-3 day since you bought it that's the main problem..and i have the 2 gb card and it works fine on it..i don`t know why they made the keyboard so bad because it was the perfect mobile phone :(
Could someone tell me if this can hold 1GB cards or more coz I wanna get it and put lotsa music on it :P
hey guys, bought an N73 about a week ago, this baby works really well. the only thing that bothers me is that whenever i reply to a text message, it takes a lousy 15 secs before the screen gets back to my inbox. is this normal? or should i wait and get my firmware upgraded? do email me at wilzwobf@yahoo
I bought this phone this morningÖ by the end of the day I can say that there is no phone I would like to have from all that are and arenít on the market. Truly this is the best phone for me and I have 2 years warranty. I spent 600$, all my money but it was worth it. My k750 lasted me one year but n73 will last truly 2 years. Pictures: are absolutely great I didnít even seen them on a sunny day because it was a cloudy day. The shutter is mechanical and a bit triky because in some situations my k750 would get a little better pics. : (. The big screen is too good to be true, the keyboard is confortable and the phone is a little bit stylish. Video is crap it flickers very much at computer playback : ( itís a shame , this is almost a perfect phoneYou wonít get well, me, a mem card instead a soft little cloth for the camera : (. The second camera the infrared the second speaker and the light sensor, I didnít need those I want to pull them out : ). Also I have an important question , PLEASE ANSWER, this day my phone restarted by itself just once I heard this is common. Will there be a software update from the internet?? And will this improve video and photo quality? . If you have any questions write, maybe I ll be around, my advise buy it itís worth it.
Nokia N73 - Really good phone especially if based in the uk and dont have a need for 3G. If the 3G is needed then problems can arise as it drains the battery on constant searching for network.
Overall i think people are asking way too much from their phones these days and as a "PHONE", this is a great buy. Camera is also excellent. The need for firmware comments may prove true but most will find the pros vastly outway the cons on this phone.
have to say that overall this phone is a great unit. I looks great, has a great feel, has a good battary life, and even after one year of owning one people still comment on it!
I do have one complaint though, and this seems to be common with everyone that has had this phone that I know (I count 5 people). The plastic cover on Joystick falls off. This is not that serious but seems to be a defect for the model, as all owners that I have asked have had the same problem.
Hi..I'm planning to buy N73 tomorrow. Can somebody please tell me if it is worth investing 27,000/- on this mobile...Please give me your valuable suggestions....
Do N73 can run application or games(sis and java) faster than N80 or equal or worse?
I mean, processor which nokia use is never tell in any specification though, if anyone knew , pls tell us about ,thanks
i bought this stupid phone for 3 days and the joystick button fell of and it was sunday and the stores were closed and i fixed it with glue and now it's not working well.was should i do ? can they put another one or something ? plz help
I heard people telling me that N73 hangs. Meaning screen freezes or not enough rem to run the big memory card...that is if you're using 1 gig memory card. Am thinking of buying N73 but not too sure. I have kind of compared the K800i with N73, other that sony ericsson having the cybershot camera and bigger fonts, I think N73 beats hands down. But first of all, NOKIA better solve the bugs and the screen hangs problem first!
