Dreadnought,
thanks for your reply but from the images shown in the Nokia webpages, they seemed no borders at the sides and the images somehow how looks a bit fatter (like what we see on those wide screen TV, which is rather awful).
Even there are really borders at the sides, then isn't it being scaled down to the normal size like N70 (i.e., about 2.1") and thus it defeat the purpose of having and paying more for a larger screen, since after all we will still be viewing on a normal size screen?
i slaped a 1g dv-rs-mmc from my 6680 to a 6230 .every thing was fine , as long as you format the card if there still have .jar , .sis apps instaled on the mmc. If a formated 2g minisd works in the 6270 or others. Im shure it will read 1g it might be a little slower to load and and it can depend on the kind of app using what features and how meney you got
Prob available July/August time, but expect delays as they so often happen.
price wise, i'd expect to pay around £500/$930.
However, expect the price to drop quickly once its released (say by about 10% after four weeks, etc)...
Kelvin Chan,
they might just add some white borders to the sides when showing a picture wide-screen. That´s the case in my 6270´s video-playback in fullscreen.
Though the screen on N73 is bigger than the other models in the N series but it somehow appears to be a bit wide-screen so there might be a possiblilty that the images will be slightly flattened. Does anyone agrees with my point?
It's a matter of marketing. They didn't include wi-fi into the upcoming N73 because this would have cut the sales of the N80,after all, this is the main difference between these two smartphones.(of course, you may say that the display differences is also important when thinking wich device to buy)
I personally, chose the N73(even if it hasn't wi-fi),it has a larger display(the resolution difference isn't that big) but the size is a thing : 2.4inch(N73) vs. 2.1 inch(N80). Another important thing why I would prefer the N73,is it's new processor, it's 314 Mhz!!! (the N80 has the old 220 Mhz processor used in earlier smartphones like 6630,6680 etc.)This differnce will be seen in the use of every aplication! Another cool thing is that the new N73 has stereo speakers.I also preffer a monoblock phone, and not a slider like the N80.(of course this is a matter of taste) Also the camera is better than in the N80,it has Carl Zeiss glass lens vs. plastic ones used in the N80.And don't forget that it uses autofocus lens! (not fixed one as in the N80)
phone is been provided with every fiture like 3.2MP camera,3Dstreo speaker n all fully loaded so why so partial with Wi-Fi they forgot to do that or what?
plz somebody send me the link to see n83 plz thanxz
i know that minisd cards go up to 2gb, but in the nokia product page it specifically states that the n73, can only accomdate card up to 1gb capacity. so i was wondering then if it would be useful as amp3 player with only 1gb capacity. also does no one know if the a2dp stereo blurtooth profile can be added to the phone, as it doest carry it.
n80 has wi-fi and a higher pixel screen, n73 has better battery, bigger screen, and carl zeiss
The N83 is your customary 'ghost phone'.
It is also a good example of average joe buying into EVERY piece of bullsh*t he hears in the modern media.
The photos look bodged on photoshop, if not then they look STRIKINGLY similar to the pre-release concept photos of the N80. (yes, already alarm bells have sounded)
Next up, things like 5MP cameras will not be on phones til the SOONEST of Q3/4 2007.
Technology does not move forward THAT fast and ask anyone who knows the cellular busines and they'd say it would not make ECONOMIC SENSE to shove a 5MP cam onto a phone THAT soon (as in the salted Q1 07 release of the N83).
And to think the specs have been listed ONLY on someones BLOG should surely have alarm bells ringing also. Until an official source (or even Nokia come to think of it) can actually CONFIRM said phone, i would quit your fantasising and look to REAL phones that DO have a genuine/confirmed release date and specs list.
Apologies for opening your eyes, but it would be a bit embarrassing for you to be gushing over someones HOAX.
if you think that it's 1 g max for mini sd it holds up to 200 songs like an rs mmc
but mini sd holds 2 g
this phone takes mini sd only and they go up to 2 g from 300 to 400 songson a mini sd
and if you have like a 6680 it takes dv-rs-mmc
but this phones is mini-sd only
being a s60 phone, can the n73 add the application for a2dp (stereo bluetooth) and how many songs can u hold on a 1gb mini sd card. plz answer.
N83 will rock solid compared to the n80 + the n73 has 6h of talk time , 3.2 mp camera
the n80 has 3h talk time 3.0 mp
N83
The phone supposedly has a 2.5-inch-ish 352 x 416 pixel screen, Bluetooth 2.0, microSD, 5 megapixel and VGA cameras, UMTS, 802.11b/g, 4GB HDD (alright, now it's just getting ridiculous), and mini-jack audio."
i like the n80 more
