Like other N-series phones, Nokia N78 comes with some good multimedia features. ... The Nokia N78 is a candy bar style phone. The Nokia N78
The Nokia N78's design harks back to the candy-bar roots of the first N-series phones. But while this design reminds us of the two-year-old N73, the N78
This phone is tempting. The now-usual-features: 3.2MP camera, HSDPA, WIFI, A-GPS, 2.4" screen, 3.5mm audio jack, stereo speakers; added with new features: FM transmitter, Naviwheel, improved user interface, and the large battery capacity.
The only things that I don't like are the build issue, and the price, it's too expensive.
Have it for 1 week now and I like it very much.
- it feels nice in hand
- light and relatively small
- large and bright screen
- nice transition effects
- navi key (rest of the keys are easy to press)
- nice music quality through adequate headset
- good camera, even in dark conditions
- speedy menu navigation and GPS
- the battery last for 2 days (30 mins of music, 30 mins talking, 10 mins GPS, 30 mins web)
- crack sounds @ back cover
- smudgy covers
- a little to expensive, but it worths the money
n82 is currently the best camera phone in the planet today. you've got to accept it cos it's true. you gotta try it to believe it. there's no way that sony ericsson will beat nokia. even if they release an 8mp, or a 10mp, or a 12mp camera phone,it's pointless! se can only add more megapixels in their cybershot phones but the image quality is not good at all. nokia is the best!
Anonymous, 01 Jul 2008you-re talkin nonsense. I've already dumped my canon ixus. I'm using my n82 as my digital came... moreDONT LIE because a phone cat take better pictures than a digi cam, i have compared it.
only SE C905 can be used as a digital camera.
and about this phone, it looks just like a brick. i dont know which is the meaning of dis phone

I'm using my n82 as my digital camera. You won't need a digital camera anymore if you have a n82. I'm telling you, pics are so much better with n82 than a stand alone digicam. And who in the world are using winmobile? Is there any? And if there is, what can they he/she do with his/her winmobile? Lol
Anonymous, 01 Jul 2008just curious, when u use gps for the n78 do u need 2 pay for the internet usage thingy or is i... moreIf u use the GPS, it is free. Any new download of maps can be done via Nokia Map Loader.
As long u don't use the A-GPS, there will be no data charges. A-GPS requires data link from your carrier to determine your location. Typically, it requires about 4kb of data transmission to the cell tower. It is much faster than using GPS alone.
Simulation of route is free. But the Naviagtion is free for 3 months, depend on your country.
man this has probably got to be the first nokia which has good battery life....my N73 was ok but N95 8GB man....not good in battery
just curious, when u use gps for the n78 do u need 2 pay for the internet usage thingy or is it free 2 locate your location? and for anyone who thinks that this is an expensive phone, usually these are intended to be sold along with contracts, and thats where the companies subsidise some of the costs (although they suck it back out of u through ur monthly payment). but still, the gps is as simple as just clicking locate right? no need 2 set up all the settings like for gprs? im still usin a 2.5g phone (w610i). so the gps is 100% free? coz when i tried goin on google maps on my frien's w760i he told me that he had 2 pay. please help me. im confused
Considering the music capabilities of the N78, that should be a welcomed ... From what we can tell, the Nokia N78’s will ship without the FM ...
The Nokia N78 is the new entry level Nseries. Features a 3.2 megapixel camera ... price is just too much currently it's mass market phone just like N73 was. ...
Please stop quarrel!
Read my real opinion.....
Hand Phone without WINDOWS INSIDE is ...
No OS WINDOWS or OS Symbian INSIDE=Dumb phone
HP without OS (Windows or Symbian)=BASIC PHONE!
HP with OS is ADVANCE/SMART PHONE!
Don't hope a lot from HP with no OS inside! Functionality is limited to software that preinstall on it by manufacturer and don't complain with your WRONG WRONG WRONG SILLY CHOICE!
Don't hope a lot from HP camera quality whatever the model or brand currently in the market! It is still uncompareable to Digital camera...! Every body know at indoor shot HP camera still have many problem such as blur picture!
HP with good camera (but still below Digicam quality) the price is 3 to 5 times digicam price! (woouuu).. don't make sense!
I suggest :
->if you hope quality picture from camera buy a DIGICAM (Digital Camera)!
->If you need Hand phone buy a smart phone with OS Windows! (I don't suggest Symbian cause for the future Windows is the winner and symbian will collapse). Currently Windows is still the best OS in the world!
With Windows Inside you could install more software into your HP and thats mean more functionality you get from your HP!
->If you need Camera and HP... so buy it separately (Digicam and SmartPhone)!
->If you have no money to buy both of them... accept by your heart a basic phone and don't make any complain! Cause it is what you get with your limited money!
FROM : WISE GUY / WISE BUYER
i would've have bought this phone if only it has TV-out feature at least. i know it's not a n82 nor a n95, but it's really unreasonable for it to not have TV-out. nokia, please, if TV-out can be activated on n78 through firmware update only without the need for any hardware, please include that feature next time on your firmware update, then i will definitely buy it. otherwise, i'll go for n82.
naeem, 01 Jul 2008can any one tell me the details about its FM transmitter quality,as i m going to buy this phon... moreIt's pretty good.
If you're using in the car it's a hit or miss. In my Maxima it's very good, next to no hiss but in my parents Impreza it's quite bad even right next to the stereo.
It all comes down to how strong of an antenna the receiver has.
