dex, 29 Aug 2008can anyone please tell me what is fm transmitter? thanks
An FM transmitter...
do you know those things that you attach to the mp3 players to listen to the music you have in there using your car radio?
well, that's an FM transmitter. And this phone has one incorporated, so you just have to tune your car radio to a certain frequency and listen to the music you have stored in your phone.

Here's a video review of the PROTOTYPE:
http://telefonino.net/Nokia/Video/n1595/Nokia-N79... moreAccelerometer? N79 has an accelerometer? How come no one has said this?
Was checking the n79 on youtube. Saw a demonstration of its dual LED flash being used as a flashlight. Its quite bright.
Nice design and awesome features. Definitely worth to replace my 6120c with it.
asad, 27 Aug 2008no xenon! and no difference between the n82 and n79the difference is xenon flash
Here's a video review of the PROTOTYPE:
Italian only, sorry for that.
It seems that the prototype is having some problems with the accelerometer, but I suppose Nokia will fix it before selling the first ones.
there is a good link to nokia event site i share with you. you can easily make and an imagination of n79 buy this Video. ThaNks to all.
First of all; there is an orientation sensor like one in n82, and a little description about the Flash; the range of this kind is 3m but the exenon one hase a range of 6m. so there are not much defferences between. please don't get mad on just on flash; IT IS a smart phone!!
D, 28 Aug 2008First off, i was quite excited when i heard about them. Secondly, these are not nokia flagship... moreexactually they aint no flagship phones are they?
I didnt say the only differences are the cam.. that was a quote from smape.com
im not gunna argue with u bro... each to their own.

I'm sorry to disagree with you, but at over 400EUR these can't be considered mid-range phones.
Anonymous, 28 Aug 2008u seem to think im for the n82..as a owner of a nokia, samsung and SE ..u cant tell me u were o... moreFirst off, i was quite excited when i heard about them. Secondly, these are not nokia flagship phones. These are meant to bring high end features to the midrange market. It is this fact that has majority of people so excited.
Another thing, you say that the only difference with the n78 was the camera. What was wrong with the n78? Not too much. Smape.com praised it, and so did many other reviewers. The diffences btw the n78 n n79 are better construction, better audio quality, better camera, tv-out, full n-gage support with 10 game demos, xpress on coverys n protective lens cover. Thats quite a number.
Youre saying that Samsung SE and LG are coming up with new features? What are they? 8megapixels? Thats just an upgrade of a feature. Nothing new. At least SE also had a go with the fm transmitter.
I can have n85 lock heads with the almighty Samsung i8510 and there would stil be a hard time choosing between the two.
The innov8 has a bigger screen, bigger internal memory, tv receiver and a better camera. But the n85 fights back with AMOLED screen, fm transmitter, dedicated music and gaming keys, full n-gage support with 10 demos + a license for one game, less bulky, over 24hours of music playback and is cheaper by over 300 euros.
So if u were disappointed by the two handsets, too bad for you. These phones are meant for the midrange market. If your not satisfied, go and complain elsewhere.
Here is the short review and interview of nokia VP...
Anonymous, 28 Aug 2008u seem to think im for the n82..as a owner of a nokia, samsung and SE ..u cant tell me u were o... moreIts the fact that the back cover changes that im excited about, when i had the nokia 6230i i kept that for a yr which was a long time for me, i get bored very easy with phones but i will be able to personalise this so GREAT
