When I plug the phone in to charge it, a voice on the phone says "battery charging". How do I turn that off?

My N79 will be a year old tomorrow. After 12 months of intensive use as a truly all-in-one media device, withstanding the roughest handling, getting me out of tight spots with its great call quality & amazing battery life, and even occasional maintenance visits to Nokia Care... I just love this phone more than ever. It isn't touchscreen, and it's a bit old now. But for all the Androids and iToys in the world, I'll take my reliable and incredible N79 over them any day.

otherwise full format by pressing *#7370# --> ok --> security code (12345 by default)but backup first your sms and contacts.

This pertains to all those suffering from memory issues in their N79.
If u frequently try installing/uninstalling new apps then a lot of junk resides in ur phone frm those apps. Which sometimes cannot be accessed even with the third party file explorer.
Here is what i did :
1.Delete/transfer all the large files rec'd via bt to card memory.
2.Browse ur phone for any unexpected vids,pics,songs in the phone memory transfer it to card mem.
3.Create a backup of ur phone contacts,msgs,documents, phone setts.
4.Do a Hard Reset of ur Phone(Search for proc.on Net).
5.Restore ur Phone.
Here is what my phone looked like b4 and after:
Internal mem: 6mb Free.
After Reset
Internal mem: 36mb Free.
Rem. the phone has small internal mem. compared to the
features it support.

asim, 08 Nov 2010my n 79 phone memory is almost full & i am not able to find hw it can be increased????????Go to Applications. Then you can see the installed applications. The applications which are installed in phone memory does not have memory card symbol.
Also try installing file browsing software like X-Plore and look which files are taking up space. But be careful and do not delete system files !!!!.

Devil, 04 Nov 2010Do you keep your phone under pillow when you sleep? This problem is observed in sony sets usually.No...i have done some research on net..n found out many people facing the same problem..n the solution is to remove the IC placed on the backside of the keypad...but i m not sure how far its true..so seeking advice from you people..

Hi, my n79 is 11 months old. But now my phone keypad gets stuck every time. I tried formatting a number of times. But no use. After restarting, it works for a few seconds but then gets stuck. Only the switch-off button and lock button works. Please help.

If in India, dial (prefix any 3 digit STD code) 30303838 and proceed according to the voice instructions.
For example : 011 30303838.
Working hours : 9 AM to 9 PM on ALL days.

but trust me in this fon the camera sound does not off after putting the fon in the silent mode also

sudarsan, 03 Nov 2010hi...while taking photos in dark,the auto-focus shows red-bracket,however i didn't notice that... moreI think that because N79 camera can't focused the object in the darkness, so if you want to take photos in very low light condition or even darkness better make direct shot (no need to half pressed the shutter).

i just bought n79 before 3 months ago . but after just one months its display gone . and nokia service centre says due to physcial damage ..i just hoping that nokia sevice will be better next time.
