[deleted post]what are you talking about? update is coming next week. symbian^3 (not symbian os) is still new if you dont know. at least we are getting updates, unlike some android users out there still crying out for a 2.2 update. have you even looked at the 1st version of iOS and android. Utter crap. and dont come and talk about WP7 os. to me is just another iOS. the use of 1ghz or more processor in those phones just to run properly just goes to show that other OS are just plain resource hog. pls do some research first before posting

[deleted post]I know it is very painful to not get an update considering that the N8 was released a looong time ago(2 months).
You are right the pain endured by those who bought the SE X10's is nothing they waited so long to get froyo :P. I am sorry, they got the eclair instead right?
What about those phones which are going to be discontinued Say the motorola XT720(the only android with a xenon flash) which is going to die with eclair.
Also SE ,Motorola lock their bootloaders and HTC is begining to do the same.So no custom ROMS as well.
Then there is iOS. The iphones win against any other phone. Ofcourse the phone is meant to be worshipped and not used. So I pray to the image of an iphone4 daily while I use my N8 for calling,taking pics, etc...etc.

i have n8 blue,my previous phone is samsung galaxy s.honestly i m not disappointed switching galaxy s to nokia n8.I am a proud owner.i know the os is bit outdated,but overall performance of n8 is simply great.no need of 1gz cpu,when you got great gpu which is more powerful than galaxy s and iphone 4.display is very nice,i recommend use 'lightctrl' application to handle the brightness. camera is simply amazing.

the update will be release either at the end of january or at the starting of feb in mobile world congress.

the magic of android will come to end in 2011 becoz now se,lg has decide to develop their own os.
Take the eg of samsung who will release very few phones this year and will release more bada os based phones.

GetConfused, 08 Jan 2011Wow, what a nice research you have. Some people here must have forgot all information you have... moreyes,good post by adi. every os lags whether ios,android,symbian,bada,rim.
Its about how their fans support their company and how fast company remove bugs.
But i have used all nokia mobiles n8 lags very less than other old nokia phones like n95,n97,
people still think that s^3 lags because stereotype has been created in minds of people due to old slow and laggy phones like n73,n95,n97,5800,n70.
But symbian has shown vast improvements after nokia take full control of symbian in nov 2010.
Just wait a massive update in the for of s^4 is coming to s^3 in september.that is why nokia implemented 1gb rom in s^3 phones for such massive update to accomodate.

Ive never encountered any slow and hang problem. its really work fast. n8 is great GPU for gaming cmpared to other brand, why are you bashing n8? its better to buy your own n8 first before you judge. no one can believe you are liar,

nokia n8 i don't know y people r some against and some r for...but nokia is best and good thing about nokia is they don't copy anyone they make their own device with own creation.i think so thats y all haters hate nokia.but nokia does'nt care they r just simply best and no iphone can beat it.its just time coming very soon when nokia will thrash HTC also..

Ya it takes a lot of ram in previous s^1 phones it also shows memory error.
Uninstall opera mobile and try to use native browser(i know its annoying but a new browser is coming in feb)
or
use opera 5.1 beta 2 symbian version. link is

and choose opera mobile 5.1 s60v3.
Its lot faster than opera 10.1
mine is not giving any error despite lots of games install.

Some people here must have forgot all information you have mentioned (including me) & too bad that some people here more interested in Nokia's negative instead of its positive. By the way, you're so right every OS in every mobile phone must have happened to lag sometimes. Exactly what I experienced with my previous phone, Xperia X10 and Galaxy 5, no matter how careful you use it, it will lag eventually.
