wave now... moreActually you can install old symbian software from 3rd and 5th editions just fine. A lot of the apps available in ovi store for the N8 are 5th edition apps anyway. The ones that are not available yet will be pretty soon when someone at Nokia has the time to test them for Symbian^3 compatibility.
If you can't wait for them, just download them yourself and try them out.

Guys for ur kind info,m currently usin n8...i hav used nokia since from d days of 3310..i appreciate their user frndliness, bt dnt brag about d specs sheet..plz hav a look at othr phones in d market as well..n for sme1 who has told about nikon, dude u r lik a frog in d well..at d most i can laugh at ur foolishness of comparin nikon wid n8 cam..own a nikon buddy..coolpix r dslr it doesnt matter..own it n xperience it b4 u comment..symbian is bettr than bada os bt definitely more borin than anythn els..this is my personal n honest opinion fellas,opinions do differ i agree..no hard feelings n8 fans..

Anonymous, 07 Jan 2011u all were saying symbian is a mature os!now wat??cant even download the old apps? wave now... morehello kid symbian is matured... but symbian^3 is a new platform it has different apps coding n program coding if u know a bit of computer language which i think u hardly have seeing ur post... n for games... wave is much behind n8 in gpu processing...if u dont know again for the matter... in few months time ur wave will be stuck with games of now n n8 shall have gone way ahead with better graphics coz the gpu alone processes more than ipad processor n gpu coupled got it noob?? i know u r a noob but try to get a bit info on technology and level up urself to amateur

wave now has almost 2000 apps n 423 games with many hd games!

Julian, 07 Jan 2011I actually own a N8 and will say yes, it does hang up, and re-boot. I've narrowed it down to ... moreit doesnt hang i have 2 n8s got it?? u might own a fake one...it can run 31 heavy apps... n without hang or restart.... comments from u guys dont affect our knowledge n views

I've narrowed it down to the fact that some apps, even after closing are still running in the background under "process". After a will to much RAM is consumed, and bang...re-boot!
I thing a simple fix on the FW side can fix this with the next update due out this month...unless it gets pushed out! : (

android and ios years ahead of symbian?? Lol. ios cant make a video call over 3g... Cant send songs over bluetooth... Cant set songs as ringtones...
Android is better than symbian only in web browsing but nokia is progressing on it
