I like this phone & I want to buy it
But I'm confused
some say this phone is cool
& some say this phone will die in few days after buying it

My N8 still sitting in nokia care since 13th of dec..problem is keep restart by itself for the first day for no reason,anyone who gonna get it pls inspect carefully n tested properly before bring it home or the fate will ends up just lik me...plan to get a xmas gift for myself but ends up nothing but waiting.

Love the phone, despite its issues. So, pros and cons:
- I am a DSLR/advanced compact camera user and I have to admit that N8 camera is above any expectations
- Symbian: my girlfriend has an iPhone 4 and I had the chance to compare the two phones. I like symbian more (still: expecting some updates)
- connecting PC to net with N8 - instant, no settings required
- multitasking - really, does the iPhone do that? becouse N8 does it the right way
- social app: it just doesn't work, needs an update
- I set Opera as default browser, but it still open the nokia one...
- problems to sync contacts with PC Ovi app, but not ota with ovi services
- last but not least: is an excellent phone and this is what I wanted; if I wanted a multimedia device, I would have used an iPad

i only used my N8 for a week and it was no longer working; as much as N8 phones are in demand please take time to look for faulty phones before their given to customers.

Caperz, 27 Dec 2010hi Sam, Have you taken off the clear lens protective sticker on the back of the phone ?I visited the nokia care today, they reinstalled the software, hard reset phone and mass memory, the problem of red rectangle still persisted, i was told that they will have to send it to higher centre for repair or replacement, there may be a hardware problem in the camera.

no stereo speaker( but the one in n8 is good)
the palstic hdmi cover and bottom end part are made of scrathable plastic

Actually it seems to b a good phone bt as i read d ... moremax here post crap go ahead n buy... its a marvel... very few units have been found faulty n nokia has announced that since it a very costly phone, units with such a fault will be replaced under standard warranty whenever u encounter such a fault

prit, 28 Dec 2010i purchased n8 3 days ago, the only problem i am facing is, my n8 is getting locked automatica... moreUnfortunately you cant completely deactivate your auto screen lock in Symbian^3 for the moment. Symbian^1 had an option "Auto Key Lock" in phone management but S^3 don't have it. What all you can do is configure your auto screen/key lock period to 30 min and the screen timeout to 1min.

i purchased n8 3 days ago, the only problem i am facing is, my n8 is getting locked automatically. I have set my auto screen/key lock is to 1 min and my auto key lock period is none. And my screen is glowing for 1 min. What to do. Thanks

sukrsa, 28 Dec 2010I have downloaded many applications, games, photo etc. from OVI store through wifi connection.... moreInternet share doesn't work both ways in Symbian like in WinMo, that is you can't connect N8 to notebook and get your PC's internet connection shared to N8 via USB. but if you have a WiFi adepter in your notebook then you can share your LAN using WiFi (through an adhoc or something) and you can always download the contents to your lap and transfer them to N8 via USB by using Ovi suite or by Mass storage mode.
