MdN, 20 Aug 2013Try adding the "Voice commands" shortcut to your home screen and you CAN talk to it,... moreOh mih Lord! I swear this is the most entertaining site. I can't stop laughing.
I'm going to check out what you mentioned and get back to you. Zedge sounds like something I should have, only thing is, I don't know what it is. I'll google it. There's some stuff on this page that I haven't got a clue about, like exFAT and FAT 32. Hm.
BTW. I looked at all the links and really enjoyed them.
AnonD-133243, 20 Aug 2013strange, i spoke to my n8 too but it didn't reply to me Try adding the "Voice commands" shortcut to your home screen and you CAN talk to it, and it will reply. :-D
Anonymous, 20 Aug 2013Had it for 1.5 years now Samsung Galaxy S4... N8 was really a great phone.. I have a remarkabl... moreI'm sure your assessment is a really good one for your needs and your pocket as well. I promise you I'll be the first in line when they are giving away the S4 for free. Meanwhile, I'll stick with my wonderful N8.

Stupid me, 20 Aug 2013Hi MdN
Thanks for sharing that wonderful article with us! Your post was great too. What you... moreHey, thanks for reading. :-) I see there were 50 more comments since last night, all good. Hah, YouTube... my PC is sometimes too slow as well, so I mostly use my N8, the FastTube app. Or I download a video and watch it later on PC or N8, actually I prefer watching stuff on my N8 now. I don't have to sit in the same position and sometimes I just fall asleep on my bed watching something and wake up at 5 in the morning wondering what happened. :-) Some people wouldn't watch videos on 5-inch HD displays because they are "too small" but I'm watching movies and documentaries on my phone. Well I grew up with a black & white TV so maybe it's all a matter of perspective. :-) As for documentaries, I guess you can find most of them on YouTube, also there are National Geographic and CNN apps for Symbian, so it's not too bad. I tried some internet TV app too, but it was like "first check out this advertisement and then you can maybe watch the video" so I forgot it. Nokia internet radio works great, though.
Well it's a special phone with a story and people behind it. They just don't make them like this any more, there's a new "flagship" phone every 6 months, and most of them become forgotten when an upgrade comes with more cores. With the N8 it was more like "okay, enough is enough, it does everything I need fairly well so let's stop here". I like using it too, and that's more important than what the media or whoever thinks that we "should" be using. Btw, do you have a Zedge account? Just wondering. ;-)
i've lost some options of the camera while using Nokia N8 with Nokia Belle OS. What should I do?????
Anonymous, 20 Aug 2013Had it for 1.5 years now Samsung Galaxy S4... N8 was really a great phone.. I have a remarkabl... moreI'm sure you've made a really good assessment to suit your needs and your pocket. I promise you that I'll be the first in line when they are giving away the S4 for FREE!!! Until then, I'll continue nurturing a truly understanding and loving relationship with my N8.
To all :
Sandisk ultra class 10 micro SD card was detected* (at 59.3 GB) in Nokia N8-00**, Nokia N79** and in Nokia 5320** !!!.
* means - The default file system was exFAT. I have formatted using FAT 32 formatting tool (at 4096 bytes per cluster) PC tool. It took 2 to 3 minutes.
** means - Even though the 64 GB card is usable in the above phones, you cannot format in Nokia N8-00 (you will get error) and there was no format option in Nokia N79 and Nokia 5320.
Note : I have not loaded the card full of videos and tested. Just inserted and tedted. Working.
such a wonderful mobile i ve ever used love that and their apps download from N8 fans club search in google
were would i download TTpot music player compatible for N8 belle ref.....
AnonD-20890, 19 Aug 2013Carol, Whats this? http://www.wondershare.com/android-manager/Oh! I can answer that! Simple! It is something for the Android Galaxy Note II you said you plan to buy. It will truly enhance your purchase :-). Trust me, I recommend it for you :-).
Oops! I think the cat got my mouse which is behaving erratic. Yes, as I was saying - I will treasure my phone now and hope it becomes a collector's item in years to come :-). I just re-categorized it as a BMW :-)
Thanks also for the info about the flash player and to Carol too. It's Ok if I can't see some videos. It won't kill me. As a matter of fact, I can't even remember now what was the documentary I so badly wanted to see last week :-). That's human interest for you - here today and gone tomorrow. Keep well.
MdN, 20 Aug 2013A nice, new, retrospective article about the N8 was published today on My Nokia Blog, check it... moreHi MdN
Thanks for sharing that wonderful article with us! Your post was great too. What you wrote and how you did it brought you to life on my PC screen. I looked at dot and can't believe my phone can do that! I'll look at the other videos for sure but my PC is sooo slow at night for videos, it's frustrating. I'm looking at my phone in a whole new, different light. I won't be surprised

A nice, new, retrospective article about the N8 was published today on My Nokia Blog, check it out!
Had it for 1.5 years now Samsung Galaxy S4... N8 was really a great phone.. I have a remarkable memories of it's experience especially it's camera... it was great of it's time but not now... not at all.. the new apps need more faster processor and faster Ram... Android rules now... plently of apps and features... I just love my new Galaxy S4 and my miss my N8 too expect it's slow processor :P
kumara.4658, 19 Aug 2013N8 is the best camera phone but not playing all file formats videoes, if n8 is a android phone... moreBEST SOLUTION!!! Get two phones! Because Symbian will never be Android and vice versa. Simple logic! That will eliminate the need to "if" and "but". Nothing wrong with having 2 or even 7 phones (one for each day of the week). How you spend your money is your business.
I am very happy with my Symbian N8 because it is serving my EVERY need at MY price range! The day it does not, I'll just trot off to the nearest store and get me something else at the same PRICE that does MORE than what the N8 does, and does it MORE EFFECTIVELY. I don't see that happening anytime in the future because I have not found any such phone on the market that can match the N8 in capability at MY price...and I real researched it.
So, either I spend loads of money on a high end phone OR, get an EXCELLENT phone PLUS an airline ticket next year. That's the bottom line - your PRIORITIES, not the PROMOTION of one OS over the other. Who the hell cares????? All the companies are just vying for your money and playing with your minds to create unnecessary lust for more and more fancy phones. You won't find me lining up on the pavement to buy any newly released iPhone!!! So, it is a PERSONAL choice, not the production of a PhD thesis that nobody is interested in.
As a consumer, it is a matter of what phones are available on the market for the SAME price that will meet my needs - NOT theoretical agonizing over the joys and sorrows of Symbian vs Android OS. I (and most people) don't give a damn! If the phone is doing what I want, that's enough for me (and most people) - and my N8 is giving me more than what I expected, so I don't anticipate that I will be changing it any time soon. It will be just like my ancient 1108 which I still use as my companion flash light every time I go out at night, my house phone, my unfailing alarm & timer and my back up phone.
So, if you are ecstatic about the Android OS, I am really happy for you. I am ecstatic about my Symbian N8, period - and I highly recommend it. Note well - I am recommending a particular phone not a system.
