I am fool to have bought Nokia N8, so costly a phone with no charm. I am very disappointed with its video quality, so blurry, what to do with just 720p to name. Earlier I had another phone with HD video capability, almost half in price as compared to N8, and the video of that phone was fantastic, crisp and clear. Phone screen was so brilliant, super AMOLED, processor speed 1GHz, having superb video light. I am really really disappointed, specially with regards to the video quality of N8.

i think this phone is not really a smartphone...
it a superb camera phone...
it also nice satnav phone... fell more brave to travel...

Does the N8 have voice recording for memos? I use this alot for meetings (I hate writing).

I would like to remind you that in terms of software Nokia E7 has no difference from Nokia N8/C7/C6-01. Additional apps cannot be taken into account. It has the same hardware, the slider mechanism works well, materials are properly selected and generally everything seems fine. The problem is that the boards in all Symbian^3 handsets have defects, which leads to the end of the road for many phones and they cannot be repaired. Nokia is fighting with this issue, but they cannot change the manufacturing process for current models straight away, so the new models have to be delayed

I bought the N8 last week and I am blown away. I had the N96 and had a bad exprience with it but decided to try the N8. Nokia has gone all out to eliminate competition.
To the user who complained about the N8 camera. Check if the lense cover that comes with the phone is removed and check your camera settings because the N8 takes superb pictures (12mp's I mean come on).
You will be suprised that the people who complain about the N8 do not own it, they are just haters.

Ovi + Nokia + Features + Performence + Design + Symbian^3 + Touchscreen + Best Quality Hardware - Sky High Prices = New High End Nokia N8
Google + XYZ + Android + Touchscreen + Poor Quality Hardware + Sky High Prices = XYZ Android
Apple + iOS - Features + Sky High Prices = Apple iPhone
Overall i like Nokia!!!

I think Nokia N8-00 can be classified as a high end smartphone in a way it offers multimedia features that cannot be found on other smartphones (e.g. miniHDMI interface, USB OTG, best 12MP camera, innovative video zooming, just to name other features). Now, for other Symbian^3 smartphones (e.g. E7-00, C7-00, C6-01, & X7-00) they can also be classied as high end smartphones.
Now, Nokia wouldn't consider to use Android nor Windows Phone 7 because they have MeeGo OS. A collaboration between Nokia and Intel. Hence, stop making news that Nokia will use Android or WP7.
And Nokia is Nokia, each manufacturers has its own advantages and disadvantages over other manufacturers. However, your just messing with Nokia because they are not releasing their third OS, the MeeGo OS, that will answer all your questions and complains about Nokia.

Goood move on selling the iphone 4 but if u wanted a better phone should have invested in a high end android device

Maybe in your own virtual universe, they haven't sold millions. A single distributor here in nigeria has sold over 900 units talk less the whole country, more the whole world. Sorry to disappoint you but fact is, i won't be surprised if the n8 has outsold the i phone already. Oh and it doesn't cost 200 bucks. I see no reason why any rational human being would be happy to pay outrageous fees for a piece of trash sandwiched between layers of 'break me' glass. I fix it claims both phones cost the same to manufacture component wise. get some commom sense please.
