We've delt with a number of these replacing many of them. Nokia says the new stocks they are giving us are fine and no longer problamtic but I prefer to sell on the safe side and just steer customers towards Android and iphones.

Its like the best phone right now. To all Apple Iphone user can you please stop being bitter about these new phone cause its actually better that what you have right now and this phone alraedy won an award as THE BEST CAMERA PHONE as early as one month of releasing out in the market!
All phones are subject for damage and that depends on the user!
today i've got my n8 made by finland, though i expeted china but my father bring the finland one...now i'm finding those problems written in this review. but still i had no problem with it. exploring it :D...
I believe that defects starts with the users... depends on how consumers USE or handle their Mobile phone. If you take good care o ur mobile...no defects will happen...if ur careless then dont be surprised if ur mobile breaksdown.... These reviews are from peoples point of view. BUT you WILL never know UNLESS YOU try it. Risks are big factors in life...TAKe IT
The Nokia N8 rocks bigtime! It has everything I need (and don't need). Had this baby for 3 weeks now and I simply cannot complain with how relatively cheap it is.
Now, just out of curiosity, do any of you posters listen to death or black metal; or are you all generally NERDS with no life?
Anonymous, 17 Dec 2010i taught price will seriously come down because of the major defects in n8 like in other count... more
It's not that Nokia thinks Indians are dumb people; let's be real, whether they lower the price, or make it higher won't make any difference - Indians just don't have the capability to buy one (let alone being able to eat a half-decent meal twice a day).
AC (now living in the UK)
I have used it now over 2 months havent had any porblems with it. None restarts .
Just waiting for new firmware update.
Anonymous, 17 Dec 2010i taught price will seriously come down because of the major defects in n8 like in other count... moreNokia has hard time making enough N8s for everybody so it is the demand that is driving prices up. I'm sure Nokia hasn't actually raised the price.
There were limited amount of defective phones in the first batch and Nokia has said they fixed the problem. Defective phones will be replaced and it doesn't affect anyone buying a new N8. Why on earth would they drop prices because of that?
I bought N8 one month back...After one week it got some serious problem and I gave it to Nokia care. After 14 days I got the replacement of N8 ...Again I am facing same problem today with the replaced N8...It is not turing on... I paid 24k to buy the mobile but I am not able to use it for 14 days..............Please don't go for this mobile...Its complete waste of 24k money....
Anonymous, 17 Dec 2010i taught price will seriously come down because of the major defects in n8 like in other count... morei agree, i recommend this link. try to read the article.
i taught price will seriously come down because of the major defects in n8 like in other countries but they are increasing price in india that means nokia think indians are dumb people. Nokia phones quality is going down day by day for example from n97 n86 n85 n73 5800 to n8.They think only advertisement will make people to buy their phones. ....nokia is using their brand value very wrongly. If nokia do not change their attitude towards this they will loose rapidly in market share.
Anonymous, 17 Dec 2010in india nokia have increased the n8 price by 1000 rupee . I think nokia is cheating indians f... moredont buy n8, youll regret it.. in a day or 2, youll just returned your phone to nokia service center. nokia are selling it cheaper in the us because they are desperate to recover from the n8 losses. the phones that are on sale are refurbished phones. there selling it back to the market, after it was returned and found to be defective.
in india nokia have increased the n8 price by 1000 rupee . I think nokia is cheating indians for this new year. There is no discount or offer for this new year. In all other countries there is huge offers... In USA there are selling for $399 as a new year offer price which is nearly 19000 rupee that is almost 5k difference.. What nokia think about india which is one of the largest market for nokia
Mobile-Review.com has done a lot of work investigating mass phone defects and published a lot of materials dedicated to the nature of such defects and their causes. Our resource is the only one constantly paying attention to this delicate issue despite all fury and anger that each and every manufacturer welcomes such discussion with. We have an excellent article about where phone defects come from and I highly recommend you to take a look at it. We also led our own investigation of the speaker defect in the Nokia 5800 (we were able to discover it before the company itself and provided a complete coverage of it; the defect was acknowledged by Nokia eventually), defects in the Nokia N76 as well as in some products from other manufacturers. Today, we are going to talk about Nokia's flagship, the Nokia N8, and its fellow device, the Nokia C7. In our opinion, these phones have principle defects, which Nokia, trying to preserve its reputation, refuses to acknowledge.
Defective Flagships. The Nokia N8 and Nokia C7 Dying around the Globe
Unfortunately, manufacturers' attempts to lower productions costs as well as their pushing new models to the market are made at the expense of decreasing testing periods. This can result into a large amount of phone defects that reveal themselves as early as within the first few months of ownership and can become a curse of a particular model. It is quite disappointing to have to take one's newly bought phone to a service center and then to wait several weeks for it to get repaired. It hurts even more to get the device from the service and have to send it back.
I want to know i am looking to purchase a new phn and my first choice was the Sony Ericsson Experia X10 I liked the look and feel of the phone and the function cause a friend of mine has one.
Now I saw the Nokia N8 and the internal memory is off the charts better than the Sony Ericsson it can video call which the other cant, I have had a Sony Ericsson for a good number of years but i have been rockin Nokia longer even up to the one that had the flashlight at the top.
Can yall help me with my decison.
