nokia i would suggest you to make a small change in the os to help me and a lot more users in usa. i want to be able to type fast on my nokia n8 both ways vertical and horizontal with a virtual querty keyboard. make a small change and i will enjoy more this phone! the camera is very good, the build quality is good too, the battery life is not bad, overall it needs some os improvement!

Android is not open source, its not even free really. And it is a java vm. Really. It is the flavor of the year, nothing more.

I bought N8 and after the first charge it refused to recharge again, then i read about a power issue so I contacted Nokia-Care online (through the web site) the problem was that I bought it from KSA then I left KSA, they asked me to go to KSA and deliver it to ?Nokia-Care and when I did they refused to replace the device.
I warn everyone going to buy this device to take into consideration this issue. that is a known issue.
btw, I met another guys had the same issue and after fixing the device the problem happened again.
I will update you with the status of my device because if they replace it so , this will be OK otherwise I will lose trust with their products.

i've played almost all the full rendered 3D games on N8 and holy crap it's good
people are scared of symbian i can tell
and it's disgusting
nothing wrong with supporting another platform
cause look at WP7
the developers are not even getting paid yet and it's a new platform and there is already 3k apps
i don't know why they would leave symbian behind like that
or it's because all 3 platforms are from the US

and u should test the software a bit at the nokia shop, open maps(check if gps working), open camera, open music player, open gallary etc, takes 10 minz, if all fine, then buy the mob :)

deep space bar, 18 Dec 2010what's so amazing about droidOS or iOS ios and droid r better for different reasons.Droid is an open source os.Thats why its very flexible.It makes it easier to develop apps.So the droid app store is getting large.ios on the other hand is very restricted.But it has a huge library of apps because of the developers affection for ios where you will find almost everything that you may need.
The prob with symbianOS i think is that it doesn't get a lot of software support.So while a nokia n8 is as powerful as a droid or ip3gs,it doesn't do much with its power IMO.

got my 2nd new n8 today....extremely happy...can any1 hear the creaking sound when pressed on the surface above the camera...have came across 2 n8's...both of them had same thing...dun knw whether its a defect or is designed this way...nd those who say there aint much apps on OVI store then they musnt hv checked the ovi store yet...there r hell lot of apps n games there....love this phn..

Anonymous, 18 Dec 2010The only thing good in N8, is the Camera. The reset is average. hope people understand.the only think great in iPhone is gyro, the rest is useless (retina - too much pixels - needs more power, more batery; you can play with it only if jobs allows it)

hope people understand.Dag nabbit, I was hoping the "reset" was going to be good on this phone, something real special but if it's just your plain everyday, regular turn off "reset" thingamejig then I'll just have to pass on this phone and send it back.

No lags, freezes or hangs for going almost 5 weeks now!! Just be hard with with them. After using this phone with the 1st one i received, i could never look back and no phone was going to come close to it. The 2nd one being faulty was frustrating too for me so i know what you're going through. Just hang in there. After all this time and waiting, will any phone make you happy? I dont think so! Remember that cos thats what i asked myself time and again on the 2nd faulty device. I am very happy with this phone. Android phones are good but my phone is just as good if not better. Hang in there. My fingers are crossed for you. Good luck! :)

Gitty, 18 Dec 2010How to sign them using pc ?As far as i know, there's a pc app named signtools v2.2.exe that i use whenever i need to sign a copy of signsis app for my friends. You may try to google it.
