Speaking honestly, there are no the Best, No i phone, no Droids, neither the Nokia. "The best" comes upon the user, For me N8 is "the best" for some one else iPhone could or a droid. Every manufacturer knows, and they are not on the path to produce "the best" they try to cater deferent kinds of users and they succeed in their own way.
But we need to think of an important fact, the definition for smart phone is changed. Now what you look for is a social phone, Symbian initiated the concept, but Android and iOS elevated it to biggest height and WP7 took it to an entirely new level. Symbian needs a lot of catch-up in socializing the OS.
For an example, HTC sence can bring all your social contacts to your phone in a breeze and link all the contacts together. Note it links not merge. SO it provide a better experience in getting touch with your contact. Symbian^3 has it, But its a deferent story, you have to manually link your FB contact with a phone contact and you can only search from one server, google, live or yahoo at a time. when you set upo an exchange connection it just merge the contacts and make it a mess.
I may need to tell about me here,I'm a Symbian user from 6600, I used WinMo for 6 months, Came back to Series 40 and went to android froyo with HTC sense from Symbian^1 but came back to symbian^3 within two months, soon after finding android is not my ship. Since i have tryied many OS and many phones i know the pros and cons of deferent platforms. The OS, phone and everything depends on the person.
For me Nokia N8 provides me what i missed in HTC desire. Currently N8 is the best for me, but its not the best of all phones. I have several issues with it, but it does all the jobs i require in one step or several steps were a lot of which were a no go in desire even with 1000 of steps.

OMG, the N8 is number 2 now on the list! And there are at least 148,000 plus who voted. What does this mean? Even if it's not number one and even if it's not on the list, the fact that there are these number of votes for/against it, it means it's THE most sought after smartphone! And the truth always comes out - it's the best smartphone out there.

Do you still want to buy the iphone 2g in 2010/2011?

Ya android is the latest baby in mobile operating system, but Symbian is a grown adult at least 5 years older than Android. Ya, I'm sure that Symbian will be alive powering more and more devices even after 5 years.

Nokia says the new stocks they are g... moreYou're a dealer? hmmmm iphone, android phones are better yeah...but its pricey when those mobiles has defects... you'd have to pay a lot to fix Iphones and android phones... and service centre for that...come on..good luck on that...Nokia is the dominant mobile phone in the world.

It is possible that you yourself have placed that virus into your own phone. Restore the phone to factory settings and scan your memory card with your pc by using a memory card reader or 'mass storage' mode

im using this phone for two months and i do not have any problem bout it, bit surprised when i read those comments and opinions telling its a no good phone and comparing it to an android and iphones....well think alot and compare all the specifications of both phones and be suprised that this phone beats them all!!!you can even save up to 48gb with this one and the 12 mp is also one of good features of this phone!
im using this phone for two months and i have headaches with it!

Keep in mind i havent rebooted my phone in around 2 days, right after reboot free RAM is 147.23, then after using a few apps drops to around 130

For your info, n70 is the world's most used mobile & n73 is the 3rd, right after SE k810. So I urge you, please learn about the topic before you say anything. you have proved that your infos are incorrect, so the info you are giving about n8 should be incorrect as well. I have been using n8 since nov 11th and am a happy and proud owner of the great nokia n8. Infact, I'm writing this review with my n8. So far, there were no major trouble for me. O ce it hanged cause I installed a symbian 5 file in it. Be careful what you are doing. You guys know how to drive a scooty, but claim to drive a 1000cc bike, that's unbelievable! Take a break, give us a break. Enough of your talks. No matter what you say, n8 will still be the best phone ever.

We've delt with a number of these replacing many of them. Nokia says the new stocks they are giving us are fine and no longer problamtic but I prefer to sell on the safe side and just steer customers towards Android and iphones.

Its like the best phone right now. To all Apple Iphone user can you please stop being bitter about these new phone cause its actually better that what you have right now and this phone alraedy won an award as THE BEST CAMERA PHONE as early as one month of releasing out in the market!
All phones are subject for damage and that depends on the user!

I believe that defects starts with the users... depends on how consumers USE or handle their Mobile phone. If you take good care o ur mobile...no defects will happen...if ur careless then dont be surprised if ur mobile breaksdown.... These reviews are from peoples point of view. BUT you WILL never know UNLESS YOU try it. Risks are big factors in life...TAKe IT

The Nokia N8 rocks bigtime! It has everything I need (and don't need). Had this baby for 3 weeks now and I simply cannot complain with how relatively cheap it is.
Now, just out of curiosity, do any of you posters listen to death or black metal; or are you all generally NERDS with no life?

It's not that Nokia thinks Indians are dumb people; let's be real, whether they lower the price, or make it higher won't make any difference - Indians just don't have the capability to buy one (let alone being able to eat a half-decent meal twice a day).

I have used it now over 2 months havent had any porblems with it. None restarts .
