All people saying the processor is rubbish are clueless. This phone has a GPU IN ADDITION to the processor (GPU's can perform like processors), and anyone who knows about technology will know GPU's are extremely efficient.
People complaining about the screen resolution - on paper I agree it's hardly impressive, but hardly noticeable unless you stare at your phone screen for hours with a magnifying glass! Don't be pathetic. The colour rendering is excellent and touch response (most important feature of screen) easily on par with iphone 4.
Music quality is the best I've heard from a phone, HDMI out, USB on the go, the best camera on a phone, very good satnav included for free bla bla bla I don't see any phone that can match all this.

Yes, this phone will play avi formats. In fact it will play virtually any format thrown at it. It records in mp4 format (sadly not avi).
As for battery life, I don't know what people must be doing for their batteries to run down so fast?? I'm a fairly heavy user of the multimedia applications and use both still and video camera quite a lot and I am only charging my N8 every 5-7 days. I guess the few times I download my content onto my pc charges it up a little, but it can't be that much.

Hey Jim it's processor is a little slow. After a few apps were added and some room used on the internal hd. It could have been early stages of the phone dying. we'll see how it goes after its repaired

Dear all, does anyone know does N8 could save the page while we online any webpage on N8 as picture and mms to someone else? I couldn't find it after many days purchased the N8. All the iphone generation could by pressing menu and start button at the same time. Guru and Sifu pls advise. Tq

Guys, don't believe this slow processor and less memory stories...the N8 is very quick and very accurate, just go in a shop and check it yourself.Screen and build quality are really top notch, longer battery life, the camera is really something else, symbian^3 is very smooth with so many new features...And don't forget the Nokia support, much better than the SE support.With all these advantages i think the N8 is the only handset to match the quality of the iphone and htc desire.

15 days old started not responding. Then turned off wont turn back on. Telstra (aust) wont swap the phone for me. They are telling me they will have to send it away to be fixed. Could take up to 4 weeks :( .Nokia care has told me the same thing. send it away. Any other electrical device would be a straight swap within a 30 day period. What is so hard. I'm now thinking I would love a refund. It's not going to happen. Very unsatisfied customer. Used Nokia for ever now a change is around the corner. To top it all off it was a great phone before all this. A little slow processing. Quality of photo's brilliant.

Low processor and i don't care if Symbian doesn't need fast processor they should think that before because Symbian doesn't give great resolution too 640X360 What the hell!
Look at S8500 bada os doesn't need fast processor too but Samsung add fast processor anyway to give the greatest performance
