Can't believe Nokia released that stupid phone as such a amateurs.Shame Nokia nothing works smooth, even pc soft is pain in the ass.My last Nokia phone for sure!
Pinch to zoom for OVI Maps on Symbian3 :)
Can people on here talk about this phone & not iphone please. Make constructive comments if you do not like this phone go away for goodness sake. If you hate it we do not care. And whoever said iphone compares to N8. Well, iphone it's just an ipod with a phone attached to it. And Apple cannot even get that right. i had iphone 4 & sold it. Why?? Cos all calls were constantly going to voicemail battery was poor I could go on. The N8 does have nice sharp screen for it's size I have no issues with it & who gives a stuff if iphone has retina display. Big deal man
Damn man !! why all the trolls compare N8 to Iphone ey?, Want the real competitor? try SE Satio and N8, I can see N8 has better features than Satio, Trough out both Satio and N8 running Symbian, not the Iphone, that is running on an android OS, only Iworm can handle it, just few bites and there you go rusty apple, I'll buy the N8 since second batch is coming sooner this month in australia, :)
Internet Radio on the N8 is very nice!
snonre, 04 Dec 2010Yes, mine was made in china and the only prob i had was one restart, and that's it. everything... moreThanks a lot bro...that removes all my worries regarding the China made n8.I sold my Pixon 12 after seeing the results of the blind test.
Can't wait to get back to nokia (3100,ngage QD,6630,n79,htc dream :(,n86,pixon12....n8 :D )
Great quality handset amoled display great quality sound much better Touch and the best camera superb i have used omnia hd, htc hd2,m8910 12mp and satio but N8 quality packed handset in the competitive moile word Nokia is number one
FB, 04 Dec 2010Brother Snonre,is your n8 made in China? If yes, then how is its performance, like camera, video ... moreYes, mine was made in china and the only prob i had was one restart, and that's it. everything works flawlessly my man. Music is a bit low volume though.
the second batch of the n8 is already on sale and most of the probs that have been discovered in the first batch has been solved in the second batch. so there is no worry for you when you buy the n8 now.
Anjan, 04 Dec 2010Well N8 is the best nokia phone ever to come, but I am very much feeling cheated after buying i... moreAre you 100% sure they are scratches or are you just seeing under certain lighting conditions the diamond shapes of the indium-tin-oxide touch sensor?
I had the same pattern on my Omnia HD and have on my current Desire and it's a pattern which will be seen on I think every single capacitive phone, I also suspect going by forums that a few Desire users also mistook the pattern for scratches as well.
FB, 04 Dec 2010Brother Snonre,is your n8 made in China? If yes, then how is its performance, like camera, video ... morei think nokia phones sold in UAE are also of a china make...but you dont need to worry about the manufacturing country...the China one will work just as good as a Finnish make
Brother Snonre,is your n8 made in China? If yes, then how is its performance, like camera, video recording, music? I heard that the quality of Nokia handsets made in Finland are better than the ones made in China,is that true? I'm from Bangladesh and n8 is available here but it's made in China. As such, I'm bringing an n8 from UAE pretty soon but I don't know its manufacturing country,so I'm a bit confused...
If you are not able to decide the i would like to say that it totally depends on your choice..
Go for N8...
If you are looking for an excellent camera and good call quality...but in case of browsing you have to give some extra effort(larger number of taps) compared to iphone.....(UI in this is managable but not excellent as in iphone)
Go for Iphone...
If you are looking for an apple phone and also a better and easier user interfaace.....I can't find anyother thing in iphone than a better UI...
when i use maps or google maps it is showing my location but when go for navigation it keeps waiting for GPS, even google maps is not finding GPS, but i am getting notfication GPS available, what could be problem?
[deleted post]iphone! iphone! iphone! the greatest phone in the world

Anonymous, 04 Dec 2010The problem is not the 680MHz, the problem is that 680MHz on Arm11 equals to around half that ... moreThat's why nokia is smart enough to couple the processor with a great gpu. i think one of the reason why nokia sticked with arm11 is that if they started to use arm8 for symbian, symbian^3 would have to start off at exactly 0 apps and this can be very dangerous cause one of the main factors of buying a smartphone is for the apps, and nokia doesnt want to produce another microsoft kin XD
Anonymous, 04 Dec 2010The problem is not the 680MHz, the problem is that 680MHz on Arm11 equals to around half that ... moreCombine ancient processor tech and a dinosaur OS and you have yourself a winner! /sarcasm
[deleted post]The problem is not the 680MHz, the problem is that 680MHz on Arm11 equals to around half that speed on a Cortex A8 or Snapdragon. Basically its almost 3 times slower than a modern 1GHz processor.
680MHz would actually be very good if it was a modern processor. But its not, its ancient tech.
Anjan, 04 Dec 2010Well N8 is the best nokia phone ever to come, but I am very much feeling cheated after buying i... morejust have a little sand and dust on the fingers and you will scratch any display. Gorilla and all the hardening used by all manufacturers cant fight the sharp edges of sand and dust. Its just better scratch resistance than the older touchscreens, not scratch proof.
These new displays just makes ppl think they are safe, so they forget to be careful and get scratches faster than on older models.
but who cares, N8 is stil a crappy Arm11 Symbian phone with a low resolution display, scratches is a small problem compared to that
