Is there any quality different between Made by Nokia and Made in Finland products? Coz i bought an N8 which is Made by Nokia... But heard that there is Made in Finland is also available... Quit confused at the moment...
Kep, 05 Dec 2010Most of them are made in china and some of them in finlandNot exactly like that.
Finnish made phones go to Europe, middle-east and Africa mainly. China made phones go to asia and america.
i have n8 for a month now and i dont have any problems so far..i thought the battery life of this phone is weak but i was wrong..it can last 3 to 4 days with moderate usage..calling..texting..opera mini using 3.5g connection..no problems at all..no hangs. hd games takes time to load like the nfs hd,but no hangs when playing it. My only grudge is that there is no potrait qwerty keyboard like my phone before galaxy spica..i wish nokia will include it in their upgrade. Don't compare n8 to iphone because their price range is very different..iphone here in the philippines is 40+ k and i bought my n8 for 24k...double the price!! Wow..both are good phones but iphone is too expensive and it doesn't have unlimited internet like operamini handler haha..n8 have top notch video recording but takes up to much space..i recorded 4mins of hd video and the size of the video is 290mb! I understand why n8 don't need to have video light..because n8 records good video even in low light situations. Don't listen to people here saying that n8 is slow..symbian 3 is very stable..believe me. It's a good phone..cheers!
By the way..i post this comment using the opera mini handler...hehe. Using 3g connection herein the philippines..yey..n8!!! Waiting for the updates..
snonre, 04 Dec 2010Yes, mine was made in china and the only prob i had was one restart, and that's it. everything... moreHi Snonre, How can I know if the first or second batch was on sale? Here on my place, it was just this week when I first saw an n8 being sold. I'm not sure what caused the delay, is it because the first batch we're sold out before even hitting the retailers, or is it just because of problems in delivery. How I wish it was the former! So all first batch are already eliminated. And the second batch with new boards are the one on the mall. Geez, I'm so confused. I just saw an orange dummy n8 and I thought it was so beautiful! Should I wait longer (maybe january) to be sure I get the second batch? Cause I don't want a trip to nokia care!!!
ps. (Another confusion: wave or n8 : cheapest or cheaper : superamoled, a8 proc, more ram or usb-otg, anodised aluminum, 12mp cam) fck! If only I could combine both i'd be willing to pay more. Of course with symbian on top. :)
Pinch to zoom for OVI Maps on Symbian3 :)
sometimes when the call is in progress if i do not lock screen and keys from options the just by the touch of face or ear on the screen the cal would drop.please suggest solutions anyone?my email is email@example.com
All n8 users if you want the best quality of your camera remove the plastic cover from the lence.

Anonymous, 05 Dec 2010not to forget the multi tasking , awesome in n8 ! Galaxy s multitasking use to suck ! The multitasking on the Galaxy S is what kills the battery. That is why I have to use a Task Killer to kill apps in the background. Back then when I do not have a task killer, I once forgot to kill some apps and it ate 40% of my battery in like three hours.
I also have to root my Captivate and underclock it so it will run at 100 MHz when idle to prolong the battery even more. It's a PITA to get my Galaxy S to run properly and Samsung isn't doing a good job with the updates. The community does a better job at fixing the Galaxy S than Samsung itself.

Anonymous, 05 Dec 2010I have a Galaxy S Captivate and while it's a nice phone, I would not recommend it to my friend... morei agree with you , i was a galaxy s user before now got n8 . I do miss that great screen and all the eye candY . but i was bored with it . Yes android is great but i was tired of waiting for 2.2 which it never got and still not availabl in India . I amvery happy with n8 now ! I get great battery backup . Its simple to use . And awesome camera , and yes os not as good as android but doesn bother me coz it does the job pretty well . Actually when it comes to os my galaxy was only good for browsing when compared to n8 . The rest of the things are either equal or n8 is better . Will continues with n8 till i see symbian 4 or android gingerbread .
