Just got my N8 Yesterday, and its an awesome phone.
I feel its definitely value for money. It can do everything that I need it to do, and it does it quickly enough. The Panorama App from OVI is brilliant.
Like every phone it has a few cons - but nothing major.
A very well-rounded phone that could compare ( and probably beat) anything else out there in terms of out of the box functionality
[deleted post]I love this guy. Every day he comes here posting that same hate spam and I bet he downranks the phone each time. Sometimes he even spends time improving his comments to make them more spiteful.
I wonder why he is doing that. Is he trying to convince himself that N8 is a bad phone since he can't get one? Is he afraid that it will destroy some other device that he loves so much?
You can already call N8 an amazing device simply on the fact that in can motive someone like this =)
Anonymous, 26 Nov 2010i think more games than symbian ryt??Wave has few hundred games. High quality games out of those maybe 20 to 50?
Nobody knows real figures for how many games Symbian has, since there isn't a single distribution source, but it is most likely in tens of thousands.
There are maybe around the same amount of S^3 games, but older games work too. S^3 has been out for less than 2 months and Nokia can't keep up with new app releases...
Maybe this will give you some idea of scale...
If OVI store downloads increase at current speed its something like 770% annual increase.
To me it seems app releases for BADA have been slowing down for quite a while now.

Anonymous, 26 Nov 2010wave is still best for gaming..n8 can play hd games??joke of the year!Wave has few decent games. Now if only it had more than few :)
Bada is not a bad OS, but samsung hasn't really gotten any wind in its sails and now with Wave II being pretty average device overall, its future doesn't look all that bright.

[deleted post]Oh you must be real happy with the new Acer 1024x480 screen. Because bigger number is always better. 22 inch monitor 1680x1050 is 90 ppi. N8 is 210 ppi.
I'm sure that is not enough. Who cares if you can't see the difference from normal viewing distance. What if you are looking at the screen through microscope?
Likewise, 1 GHz processor is a minimum on a cellphone. Who cares whether the OS can actually even utilize a GPU properly. Bigger numbers are the real important thing. What does it matter that N8 runs games better than any Android device. It has less MHz so it must be crap.
[deleted post]my daughter have 5530. No 3G! Terible touch experience with symbian, and annoying UI lag, juz like 5800 and N8. But its a good display (better than 5800) and nice size, slim, and has wifi.
SD, 26 Nov 2010Hi Waver,
I have Samsung Wave and got my Nokia N8 yesterday.
If you are not into camera ... morethank u for ur reply :)
ya i think i should stick to wave i watched some videos about this phone
it seems that i hate the interface of nokia touch phones like 5800 n97 and this one not that difference
and upon my usage i think it doesnt worth to go for N8 :)
besides i heard that some N8 phones got some software issues
It Don't Deserve the 360 Euro with that weak processor i Recommend you Not to buy it cuz after 3 Months its price will hit the ground Nether you have cash and don't know where to spent it !!!!!!
[deleted post]Funny that coz my HTC Desire's Internet Radio is way better than the N97's radio. I could only get 4 radio stations on the N97 but can get about 13 on the Desire. Stop telling pokies.
for some heavy users how many hours does this phone take before charging it again?
i went to buy n8 from nokia priorty shop the feedback given from their ends that please select c7 instead of n8 as the phone hangs. pls suggest
[deleted post]LOL N8 is a bulky phone whahahaha don't make me laugh.
Did you actually had 1 in your hands?
[deleted post]The best thing about S^3 apps is that they actually work on every S^3 device. With Android always have to check if the app is listed as working with your particular device and even then you can't be certain.
Games are also better, Android is too much of a resource hog and can't properly take advantage of GPUs.
Waver, 26 Nov 2010Hi nokia N8 users
is there anyone that had used wave before and now have N8?
does it worth ... moreHi Waver,
I have Samsung Wave and got my Nokia N8 yesterday.
If you are not into camera & apps then would suggest you better stick with your wave.
Wave is a very nice phone and if you use email, Calling, messaging, browsing & FB then stick to your phone.
But surely Nokia N8 has a better feel, better software, better battery life, better maps, better camera, faster software.
My wave seems slows even though it has 1GHz processor. lags in email specially. Otherise a wonderful device.
