I used two Nokia N8. One Dark Grey coloured and the other one Bronze coloured.
Build quality was like a tank, it felt as if you have a phone in your hand that's made to last.
Design was pretty unique.
Sound quality through the loudspeaker was awesome.
Display was pretty cool, the blacks looked so deep and the contrast was just awesome with Nokia's CBD technology.
The OS which was Symbian Belle at that time, was so optimzed and had no Google crapware. Nokia Here maps was ahead of its time. It had themes option before Android got it and the dark theme was my favorite because it wasn't hurting to the eyes and AMOLED displays don't consume much power when displaying blacks so I could save some battery.
Camera was awesome. Picture quality was awesome. The Xenon flash froze moving subjects like the fan and the camera had a DSLR like shutter and a dedicated shutter key which was two step.. Even with zooming the pictures didn't look pixelated. It packed a large sensor and is one of the few phones to do so.
Battery backup was good despite the phone packing just an average capacity battery.
The only reason for the downfall of Nokia was that Microsoft trojan in the company and also to some extent, Symbian OS. It didn't have a great ecosystem of applications and wasn't very modern.. Today I'm using Android and I couldn't go back to Symbian as most of the apps and services for like the Nokia Store, Maps, etc has been disabled. Not that Symbian is bad but it didn't catch up to Android in terms of features and app ecosystem.
AnonD-558011, 08 Jul 2016Does ovi store still exist? I mean does it have useful apps still? No but www.n8fanclub.com exists we can get everything for this phone there.

There are still cool apps out there.
Yesterday I tried the SPB Shell 3D on my N8 and its so cool. And installed Dungeon Hunter II which size is 305MB. Both run smooth on Symbian Anna
You can get pretty much anything for this phone by visiting www.n8fanclub.com
It has everything for Nokia N8 you name it.
Sad fact is.
Accurately there are 2799 applications designed by developers specifically "for this phone" But Only 220 of them are universal and best.

OVI and Nokia Store don't exist any more. You can find essential apps on AppList, you just install it and use it like you used Nokia Store.
arashk, 12 Jun 2016hi everyone , i have problem with my OVI ! its not connecting to the internet so i can install... moreHey,
I guess they're sort of shutting down the Ovi Market, even my N8 with Nokia Belle just wont connect to it anymore! We're on a sort of a dead OS sadly.
I still use it... Got the N8 since several years.. fell so many times, it just wont break!!!
Slow and sort of "dead" because nobody is developing anything for Symbian - actually at today it wont even connect anymore to the Ovi Market - it has been a very robust phone... never an issue but it's quite time to replace it!!!!!
Nokia N8, 808 and Samsung Note 4 are beasts in mobile phone photography.
hi everyone , i have problem with my OVI ! its not connecting to the internet so i can install app to my n8 ....
can somebody please help me ?
thank you all
It's time to dump your symbion phone. Ucbrowser closed its all services, youtube downloader which was best supported on these phones also closed their services. Some other major services are getting closed day by day. Earlier, railway own websites were opened frequently But now they are not fully operational and operated good on other new devices. Rich text email facilities are also started facing problems. The situation for these devices are going bad to worst.
