Anonymous, 08 Nov 2010cool N8 Review! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4p3TaFiA4dcHe is definitely an Apple fanboy, maybe an employee...you can see in the background that even his PC is an Apple computer...don't believe in that crap, try it yourself or borrow from your friend first who had it and test it for yourself.
For the ppl at nokia, i just noticed that for incoming SMS with mandarin characters u can't copy n paste elsewhere as u can with english SMS. Please respond.
Addy, 08 Nov 2010I bought a n8 & I tested it's touchscreen responsiveness & ui fastness with my already... moreMobile distributors here in UAE previously had a large demand for Samsung Galaxy S but after the released of N8 the trend has shifted instantly, they previously ordered limited N8 units but now they are ordering in bulks because of a high demand. Whatever bashing you do, there's no stopping for N8 surge. I am a REAL owner and to tell you people it rocks and mind you the price is very reasonable for this kind of high tech gadget. The guy who posted the comparison for sure don't own N8, he just got the opinion from some bloggers who continuously bashed N8 (the apple and android fanboys who don't have budget now to purchase N8 because they alredy throw their money to ishit and dying android)
i really need loads of opinions here... help needed plz..
i currently own a nokia E71. and i was thinking of giving it up and getting this N8. for those out there who has bought the N8 i really need ur heads up on the disadvantages that i'll be facing when u buy it.
and is it worth giving my E71 up for the N8?
please help me..
tq so much
all u guys dont believe these spams N8 really rocks. The GUI is same as in iPhone 4 and about batt life is that if u work on more tasks it will drain obviously. Symbian 3 is very good i never seen this performance......
I bought a n8 & I tested it's touchscreen responsiveness & ui fastness with my already bought galaxy s.
In n8 sometimes touchscreen don't register touches & ui responds late after the screen has been touched.
But in galaxy s touch anything from any way it will 100% register the touch & ui moves along with the touch, even faster than iphone 4.
Camera is much better in n8 as it's 12mpx compared to 5mpx in galaxy s but video rec. is much better in galaxy s giving superior results to n8 .
In galaxy s there hasn't been a hanging or restarting issue in 3 months of use while in n8 it's been just 9 days & it's already giving me serious restarting issues.
It seems that n8 isn't fully baked.
Screen of galaxy s is much superior than n8. Pixel density is just great in galaxy s while n8 cries for pixel density.
Super amoled screen of galaxy s looks super great as compared to amoled screen of n8.
There is also a serious issue with n8 camera as it can't handle moving objects or little shake properly & spoils the image quality. Even the cheap budget cameraphones can handle a shake.
Gaming is much better in galaxy s as it is equipped with best gpu ever.
And galaxy s is much slimmer than n8.
Browser is uncomparable in galaxy s as after the 2.2 update my galaxy s is running full adobe flash player 10.1 while browser in n8 is the same old slow & lagging without full flash support.
My galaxy s also supports DIRECT WI-FI (a future technology which will end the era of old bluetooth) while n8 don't support it.
And the biggest problem in n8 is it's same old pathetic symbian while android is out of this world !!!
Well didn't have such a great experience as a Telco sales rep. I sold 4 of those N8 from my shop and 2 of them came back because the mobiles were not turning on. Bit scaring does this mobile has got any manufacturing issue such as N97?
Yogesh, 08 Nov 2010Hw many camera's r there in n8? Is there any camera at the front of mb or nt?of course there is a Secondary front facing VGA camera for video calls.

I've had the phone for over 2 weeks now. Very stable. Great phone! It does everything you would expect it to do and more. Thank you Nokia
Bought N8 2 weeks ago.
The good= Fast phone, slick design, good battery life, great camera and user friendly.
The bad= the battery totally suck at multi tasking, not much chnages, still Nokia.
mac5, 08 Nov 2010Yeah... I already admitted that n8 is better than se satio but what about massive 1 & a ha... moreAll good things take time to happen.
I am glad N8 wasnt released 6 months back with the "work in progress" tag
Symbian needed a big overhaul. and nokia has been listening. the user interface is much better(i mean functionality, not eye candy), and the platform is much more stable.
i am sure independent developers will do some pretty awesome stuff with this phone in the times to come.
Also, the time taken by this phone to come out in the market is justified by the brilliant quality phone nokia has come out with.
People crib about the browser, but Nokia already mentioned that a better one is on the way, and opera is there till then.
On top of it All, Nokia priced this phone really. In india, this phone is selling between 22000 to 23500 in different stores.
i was using a wave before, but i found the keyboard too small. the N8 is better placed.
i was a;sp considering the Galaxy S, but the N8 is a much nicer phone for the long run.
I received my N8 two weeks ago, and I have to say I am extremely happy, everything works as I was expecting and better.
Sails, 08 Nov 2010The CPUs on Android phones run fast, true. That is because it is necessary, since Android is i... moreThat's because android is utter crap for games. Android developers build games using an enhanced format of Java (I'm overly simplifying this, but android fanboys are incapable of understanding anything more technical) that can't use around 40% of the processing power available (sometimes even more). Android will never be a great gaming platform, even with the upcomin PSP phone (which is bound to be an epic fail given SE's track record). The NFS Shift on android has compressed textures, and file size is half of that of Symbian 3. Angry birds on android is missing many effects. And did I mention the relentless battery drain and how many games have performance issues across various devices? Angry birds play fine on Galaxy S, it lags and crashes on both ZTE blade and HTC Wildfire. So much for a gaming platform!
mac5, 08 Nov 2010Yeah... I already admitted that n8 is better than se satio but what about massive 1 & a ha... moreYea, all they did in those 18 moths-
1. Build a brand new O.S. that's fully HW accelerated.
2. Made an aluminium unibody construction over Satio's crappy plastic build.
3. Added true HDMI support.
4. Incorporated the largest sensor ever on a phone.
5. Redefined image processing algorithms by going for natural looks rather than full-forced post-processing.
6. Made an AMOLED display that's actually visible under sunlight.
7. Improved battery performance massively.
8. Added USB OTG support.
9. Added a class leading GPU.
10. Fine-tuned haptic feedback that enhances user experience.
11. Provided the best GPS unit on any phone.
12. Added true Dolby 5.1 plus support.
You need any more? Man, your trolling utterly sucks...
It's the best I've ever used.nothing like anything,
Anonymous, 08 Nov 2010well... over clocking on android is not a problem bcoz they r already fast & over clocking... moreThe CPUs on Android phones run fast, true. That is because it is necessary, since Android is inefficient and can't properly use Graphics processors. High speed CPU is also really going to kill battery.
Its pretty obvious that Android doesn't actually benefit from faster processor it only makes it able to compete. Take NFS Shift for example that is available to Symbian, iOS and Android. The Symbian and iOS versions look great and run smooth, the Android version isn't as smooth and doesn't look the same.
