i buy this mob on a week ago.but i see the n8 bettery is so seek i charge it after 5 hour.

Just believe in Nokia, Nokia is market leader and they will do what it takes to stay remain in that position, and it means that Nokia have to make sophisticated cellphones or any other brands will take its position as a championship leader and I am sure Nokia do their best as strong as possible because no one likes to be second best.

It is one of the best smartphones available to date, have been using it for 10 days. No otjer phone can match it in features-
-usb on the go
-hdmi out + analogue tv out
-symbian 3 is a great improvement, no lag or restart in 10 days even under heavy use.
-perfect gps, with loaded nokia maps. you can also have dedicated google maps app.
-real multitasking, not suspended apps.
-a must buy
-there may be weaknesses, but they will be ironed out in firmware update, and nokia is known to support its products with updstes for the longest periods
-the comments by these nokia & symbian bashers look so silly after using it, i feel pity on them.

IPhone is the only mobile in the entire industry that is made and assembled cheaply but sold at a high price.
Apple make nothing of their phone. They just use others technology. Perhaps Samsung makes iPhone, saying this won't be wrong. Heres a small prove:
LCD by LG.
Processor by Samsung.
Battery by Samsung.
MLCC (multi layer ceramic capacitor) by Samsung.
Varistor by Amotech a small korean company.
FPCB by Interflex another small korean company.
IPhone is entirely assembled in Foxconn that has a very bad reputation on assembling and no other mobile company assembles their except charger

[deleted post]Could that be why Asia's Economy is growing very rapidly. Even in the USA and Europe most of their electronics comes from China, Taiwan, Japan, Korea and many other smaller asian countries. If I'm not wrong even Samsung is doing very well in the UK and their Korean right.

(1... more1st video the guy is from Thailand and I'm half Thai as well so I understand what's he's talking about. Anyway he's using 3G and in Thailand the 3G base station is limited meaning they are placed far apart so network is not so good. Anyway he wasn't making a call.
2nd doesn't exist.
3rd video well he was using 3G as well but the reception bar was not empty it was at one bar. Please use your eyes to look at it carefully. Even with one bar Nokia can still make calls. My Nokia can make calls without dropping even with one bar eg, at maybe Basement 2 car park or in a elevator which iPhone cant do.
Anyway certain places does not have very good signals for example basement 2 carparks, underground trains or maybe in a lift. Thats when my iPhone lost out to my Nokia.

Anonymous, 07 Nov 2010 DO NOT belive nokia agents on this page and extremly nokia fans who will buy everythin... moreI dont support Nokia phones but using them together with other phone brands it does have its advantages. I was a Sonyericsson user but switch to Nokia due to the technogies and especially the support and I haven't found another brand that threatens Nokia maybe except Samsung but their support sucks. Samsung even stop supporting Samsung phones with Symbian installed totally. What will happen to those poor Samsung users who buy a Samsung phones with Symbian. Poor chaps.

About the sliding cover on the phone I managed to not worry about it as almost all phones be it any brand does not have a sliding cover nowadays. My N86 with the sliding cover scratched my lens side whenever I open and close it so for me good riddance to the cover.

Nokia N8 is a dream come true set. Its xenon flash and 12 mp camera is fantastic. And the phone is desgined so perfectly. Very speedy. And the web browsing speed is so good and gives a feel of a laptop. The single thing that disappointed me there is no camera sliding cover for the lens. Thankyou.

charging, 07 Nov 2010so use the n8 factory partially charged battery until it completely drain then charge it u... moreYup thats right, use the factory charge till the Low battery warning is displayed not till the phone turns off. Than, charge it as usual like eg 2 hours till full. No point charging it 8 hours coz once the battery is Full it will automatically stop charging the battery it's a feature in most smartphone. Not forgetting than the Nokia manuals also states the same. We would only charge 8 hours if we're using a Nimh battery like in the good old days.

usually the battery take 2hours to be fully charged, should we charge n8 for 8 hours for the first time?
