vish, 05 Jul 2013Can any 1 tell me. What's the procedure and cost of replacing into new Battery of this n8 ..The bottom cap has two screws, on the side. You will need a torx 4 or 5 screwdriver and a new battery. That's about it. Depending of the series you need this torx 4 or 5, mine, is torx 4, but was released with anna. My next project will be transferring a downloaded app from a PC to the phone. I find that using the USB to transfer is a bit complicated. I struggled through transferring a song and I am more than shaky about transferring an app download, but I do want this guitar tuner app with the meter. Any ideas to offer about problems I may encounter before I take the plunge?

It was my dream phone (well, and the 808) and I was finally able to afford it after some saving and when the prices came down. The other day I just uninstalled F-Secure as I'm not going to be using it anyway, and if I needed something like that there are free options. Glad I didn't hide anything yet, haha. Enjoy, and if you need any more advice just drop by! ;-)

MdN, 05 Jul 2013Does it shut down when you hold the power button for 8 seconds?OMG! I can't believe it! I tried it again and it shut down. Then I tried turning it on and it came on. THANK YOU ever so much! I am exploring the phone as I got it 2 days ago for $50US or $300TT at a bMobile sale in T'dad. It is my dream come true as I can't afford one at the regular price. So, I am a beginner and was on the verge of tears. I won't be pressing any hide button again!!

MdN, 05 Jul 2013Does it shut down when you hold the power button for 8 seconds?No. It is not shutting down at all. I also called the number from another phone and I simply get call forwarded. So it seems the system has shut down except for two things at the top left and right of the phone. One in the battery indicator on the right..

Can anyone help me? I went into Anti theft (which said unprotected)and when leaving, instead of closing, I pressed "hide" and now my screen is blank and the phone is on and won't shut down. How can I get it back to normal???? I am in anguish.

And the cost depends on whether you buy an original Nokia battery or replacement from eBay etc...
